How Boris Johnson won the ‘Brexit election’

  • 'We pulled it off, didn't we' - Boris Johnson declared this morning as he pledged he would unite the country and 'get Brexit done' by the end of January next year -celebrating the biggest Tory majority since 1987. (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
For Labour - with Jeremy Corbyn's political project left shredded amid their worst result since the 1930s - the search will now begin not just for a new leader, but a new purpose. And a night of disappointment for the Lib Dems too - their former leader Jo Swinson one of the electoral casualties.

It was a “Brexit election”, that was the key to winning! Corbyn spent more time promising free broadband than addressing Brexit.

The only Brexit will be if some RN idiot makes a bigger than usual error and vaporises the British Isles for Britain is an archipelago lying north of the the European Mainland and Westminster does not rule it all - it just thinks it does as usual. Britain cannot exit the EU for Britain is not an EU member state. The United Kingdom is the member state and the United Kingdom is legally a bipartite union of equally sovereign kingdom partners. Go figure!

The irony is, after the public have been manipulated and sold snake oil , they're adamant it was their own choice and was uninfluenced by their source of information i.e the daily mail, the sun, BBC, sky news or whoever it may be. Forgetting these companies (barring the bbc) are all owned by the same interests who have a vested interest in people voting the way they want them to, they still feel like they've won something come the end of it, ignorant to the underlying plot. It's a really strange but ineresting phenomenon to witness (over and over again) but it has a lot to do with psychology and biases within our own reasonings. I am American so will admit to not knowing the full history, but it does seem crazy that the Tories would deny Scotland a resolution to leave the UK while the UK is going through all this to leave the EU. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander, i think is the quote.

Is it not possible its time to consider your on the wrong side of history here and not the other way round ?
You claim Leave would win a second ref...but all you have to support that is your own desire to see the world as it is tipped on its head.

I don’t vote either just a bit confused why people cannot see past an obvious liar and coward for that matter. If your worried about immigration the U.K. just needs residency permits like other countries have. Other than that I can’t afford to live in the U.K. to retire so we have had to move out early. Houses are too expensive. So are you a rich banker or have business interests just interested to know your motivation for giving up your freedom of movement.

Today is a sad day as in 1 of ur closest relative died... & that is the death of fighting as a whole. Cannot believe how many voted for their own tomb. How many are so wismerised by lights on a Xmas tree... Do not expect anything good from this election as not good outcomes for poor or middle classes. This outcome just spread the devision & that was not the real issue. Now we have to build up something on hate so we have to create cells of English ppl in any area to support the idea that English are the chosen ones... A sin is to see urself above any1 else. Do not forget that UK joined EU at a point when Europe did better than UK. Now ... cos UK does better than other Europeans countries...the decision is to smash the doors in front of every1. Do not forget we are who we are cos we were seen /received a different treatment. Today ... the vast majority of ppl voted as they did not have any brain cells. They allowed or even amplified topics as nationalism. They signed for NHS selling to USA. Cannot believe how stupid ppl can be...to find guilty am external organization for problems what are not dealt the way they should by government. The good outcome is that those voted for conservatives will realise the real problem was not the EU. They will start to appreciate what they lost in 10 years. Was a hoax & have to congratulate political class for diverting the attention from the real problem which is the incompetence of UK surviving in this world without being part of a superpower. That is the reality. We do not invent the wheel. Present world has problems to be dealt with & UK decided to be closer to USA than to European countries. Do not forget that UK is what it is cos was part of EU... It is the same old story what we see in everyday life. There was a time when I thought English ppl were above any1 else but now I know they are just ppl like me or u. They face corruption in day to day life but no1 talks about it cos there is a non willing press to talk about it. Would like to say that UK is not above any1 else as in fighting corruption moreover it should be a country to be monitored for cos it is seen as a white knight while is a black knight in fact. Enough for now.
