Labour pledges to cut net migration as Tories announce GP plan

  • Labour has denied reports it's offering peerages to former MPs so it can parachute so-called "Starmtroopers" - Keir Starmer's chosen candidates - into their seats. A number of left-wing candidates have allegedly been blocked from standing in what some are calling a party purge of Corbynistas. Diane Abbott, meanwhile, has tweeted in the last hour that she intends to run and win her seat. The row continues to overshadow Labour's efforts to get its election messages out - their focus today was on how they plan to reduce migration, while the Conservatives were talking health.

      Russia and India are much more resolute and diverse economies with huge natural resources, and the UK is a glorified Lithuania, especially after Brexit. Millions of Brits don't understand how poor we are economically on a global stage; migrants are brought in to work for cheap wages and make money for billionaires, then they siphon the money offshore, and the actual nominal value of the work is sucked out of the GDP. If we had a proper Labour party, unions and workers' rights, these sorts of mass exploitations would not happen. But this is not what Starmer offers, and it's not what the majority of the voting population wants. They don't understand the nuances of the economy - it's simply a case of "sToP tHe dInGys"

    I have no tribe .Labour say they will cut crime and make prison terms longer .Today we are told our prisons are full and our incompetent judicial system are told to reduce prison terms and our police told not to investigate certain crimes. Labour can't possibly reduce crime and employ longer prison terms unless they build more prisons which take time to build and very expensive to run. Where are the Labour costs for new prisons?? I assume therefore that Labour have no intention of building new prisons so the statements are nothing less than out and out lies .Of course ALL politicians tell the people lies in the form of rhetoric , platitudes, spin doctors and out and out lies. A little ironic as M.P.s are suspended if they call each other a liar in the House of Commons and the ultimate irony is calling themselves RIGHT HONOURABLE.

That happens to be the selling point for us beggars to take your jobs. And in most cases, it's not just a demand. It is backed by LAW. And businessmen are CHEAP MISERS!

    We always think at election time that the country will be much better, after hearing all the wonderful and encouraging promises from the politicians. I have to say, they are pretty much as bad as each other. I know that's a cliche and generalised, but I do believe it. Whichever party gets in next, and I think it will be labour, don't expect anything wonderful to come of it in the end. It's all promises, promises to get votes.

    I actually agree that putting more 'home grown' "talent" to work and reducing dependency on foreigners in the Work Force is a good thing. But it will take time, and economically speaking, that is not always on our side. That aught not dissuade a well qualified foreign national from working in UK, but open the door for well trained and freshly qualified UK citizens to work alongside them.
    Just so long as Labour does not fall into 'Patriotic' nonsense, and all the other right wing racial/ethnic tropes. Leave such things to the poisonous people backing Reform UK, and a befuddled "Conservative & Unionist" Party.

      Any sort of training like engineering or medicine takes 4 years bare minimum to finish. That is just a british national with degree not work experience. IMO dependency should be reduced where possible but not completely cut down as that would mean we cannot get experienced talent.

      I believe we should have targeted immigration for NHS workers and short term agricultural workers....I don't think we particularly need anyone else. All I see is obvious foreigners (that's going to come across as racist but I'm not) working as Deliveroo riders or taxi drivers...hardly essential

    There's a serious point from economic point of view why the world economies cannot function without immigration. White British population is on the decrease, a time bomb, when in a few years time without adequate work force, i.e. stagnant fiscal system, there will not be even enough pension for the retirees, compounded by allocation of money to other vital public services. In a nutshell, countries need work force to function; a stark reality that the likes of Tommy Robinson cannot fathom.

    • @keithparker1346
      @keithparker1346 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's based on a few assumptions that populations need to grow and that immigrants are a net benefit when you can easily argue they are not due to the increase in labour pool suppressing wages and increased pressure on housing and services. Seems silly to insist on immigrants when we have at least 1.5 million unemployed and many more underemployed

  • @cantacann
    @cantacann หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you lower migration you lower economic growth and Government's revenue, which means more austerity and lower wages.
    I believe working class Brits should be just told the truth, do they want lower wages lower pensions and less NHS spending?
    That's the price for less immigration.
