I’ve been on many flights and these are my exact thoughts every single time. I still can’t believe the feat of engineering can do this. It’s crazy how we can fly these huge machines all these distances!

I have driven close to this airport when a plane was about to land. The traffic lights turn red and the vehicles wait until the plane has flown over the road. As a motorist, you sit there watching as the plane sails literally a few feet above your car. Amazing.
That is by Hatton Cross at Heathrow on the A30 and the traffic lights are not affected by the planes otherwise they would change to red every 2 minutes. The only place in London i know that to happen is West End Road at RAF Northolt.
@michaeldouglas9089 Arrivals at LHR are now one every 60 seconds for much of the morning. Even in 1990, in the morning planes were passing my office window at Kew Bridge every 90 seconds.

The airbus a 380 is a straight-up amazing plane. I was one of the first people to see the plane at a private ceremony before the public got to see it. And let me tell you. This plane is flat out beautiful. Everything about this plane is HUGE!! But most of all, it's a plane with style, grace, and safety all rolled into one giant body. Love you A380s!!!
We take Pilots for granted. After watching this video I have a lot more respect for them and keeping us safe so we can go on our summer holidays 😊 I swear at one point he was coming in sidewards 😅

Nice pilots and crew too. I used to be a passenger service agent for BA. Every time they stepped into the airport, they look like they stepped out of a calender. So beautiful/handsome and so professional. I miss them.
Pilot: I go to work, and people watch me leave, and when I come back people also watch me. Sometime they even film me and take pictures. I'm like a celebrity. 😊
It can be quite frightening having a plane this close flying directly above you! I was in Ramsgate Kent UK a few years ago walking down the High Street, when suddenly a plane suddenly appeared above me and very close; apparently Ramsgate is on the flightpath of one of the London airports!
I used to live by ft lauderdale airport, loved lounging by the pool seeing the planes fly over....I saw the blue angels a couple times... something about the sound is just comforting to me..
I live in London but it's still a bit of a trek out to LHR for me. Last year I did get the bus over there to take some photos at this site, at Myrtle Avenue. Whenever I've seen videos like this it's been full of plane enthusiasts like you see here, but when I visited it was deserted!

I was born and raised in Hounslow West, and planes coming in to land at Heathrow flew over our house constantly. When the concord was coming in to land, our dog went nuts a couple of minutes before we could see it! I love planes!
One of the best economy flights Ive ever flown on. Smoked salmon salad was a surprising treat as was the foot rests. Cadbury chocolate is always a plus. Mind you, its been twenty years.
It's amazing to see, with all the power an airplane has, it is still at the mercy of the air and wind. Just watching that approach is amazing, it looked like it was going sideways at one point.

I remember when the Concorde prototypes were still being tested and they would be doing touch and go tests for a couple of hours at a time about three hundred yards from our transport park. We had a clear view of them across the grass . The noise was unbelievable.

Von der anderen Seite gibt es noch eine Möglichkeit. Ist auch nahe dran. Es gab einen Tag der offenen Tür. Dort war ein A 380 und eine 747 gelandet. Beide waren voll kommen leer ausgeräumt. Sie hätten auf der Startbahn gar nicht laden oder Starten können. Obwohl eine große Antonov dort das Deutsche Modul für die ISS abgeholt hat. Die Landung und erst den Start des riesigen Flugzeugs auf der kurzen und schmalen Start und Landebahn war ein Schauspiel. Beladen musste der Flieger ganz bis zum Anfang der Bahn und absolut den vollen Schub geben. Really beautiful. I had a similar spot at Bremen airport. You were on one path in the runway lighting, you were close to it. Unfortunately a motorway is being built there now. There is another option from the other side. It is also close. There was an open day. An A380 and a 747 landed there. Both were completely empty. They would not have been able to load or take off on the runway. Although a large Antonov picked up the German module for the ISS there. The landing and then the takeoff of the huge aircraft on the short and narrow runway was a spectacle. The plane had to be loaded right to the beginning of the runway and had to give it full thrust.
