Game really sunk in as a child, playing alone sitting in a far off room past sunset with the lights low and everything quiet. Even just as an animation they pretty masterfully play on the silence and absence of his parents to build the anxiety and fear. -at 8 years old this game pretty much got my foot in the door for horror in general, idk that I ever would have had the desire to explore more horror films and games if I hadn't first been "broken in" by Nightmare Ned. (never knew there was an actual series either, I'll have to find and watch)
I played this when I was 7-9. Whoever was the made the ideas for the art and story and level design know what a nightmare is for a kid. It's heard to put in words how this game captures a child's nightmare perfectly. I'm surprise when I played it recently how mature and dark some of the levels are.
On behalf of all the fans here, I wanna thank you for creating fond childhood memories of because of this show. Also, the artistic production of the show really showed talent in every aspect...sound, design, music, etc :)
You can say that again. The Cover even shows a Dinosaur poster, and when I saw that, it made me think that Ned was related to the "Stanley" show on Playhouse Disney, but that could be a coincidence.
Haha, I love Ned's widened eyes when he sees the food in the fridge and next moment, he's just chowing down! Wow, I really miss this game. It was awesome! And spooky.... :)
@samandmrcheese that is probrably how he approched the role of gus, not to mention later on he went to do the voice of ned in the nightmare ned television series. i used to watch that all the time
Thanks for working on this game. I absolutely loved the art style, music, and atmosphere. There's something about pre-rendered graphics that, when done right, looks awesome. The game also felt rather chilling and sometimes demented, but still retained a level of goofiness and humor. It almost feels like an animated short from the late-80s/early-90s that one might have seen on Liquid Television. In short, this games is really immersive and creative, and I love running through it.

I...actually remember that bed scene. It always haunted me as a kid. I go to this because I saw it on Watchmojo. Ugh, gives me the chill. Being alone, your mom not home...scared that something is in the house with you. Sometimes I hate my imagination playing tricks on me.
I played this game all the time as a kid but my copy got messed up years ago and I lost it. I'd love to play it again, especially now that I have a love for survival horror games.
I love the fact that this is basically karma biting him in the ass for screwing around at night, those sweeties probably didn't help his nightmares either
By all I know so far on Nightmare Ned. the reason why Ned keeps having bad dreams is because he ate too many sweets and sweets we all know now are the prime suspect on bad and weird dreams.
i never played this game as a kid, but i remember seeing the commercial for it on my vhs copy of the jungle book that i still have till this day and i'm not gonna lie, i actually remember the commercial for this game scaring me a little. even watching this games intro gets my heart pounding and i'm really thankful i didn't play this game as a kid. definitely way too scary for a kids game and especially one that was made by disney interactive!

Who the hell raised you, Homer? "Ned no sweets" means Ned! No Sweets, he mustn't eat sweets because we all know that sweets causes children to have bad dreams.

I remember always trying to fast forward through this ad in one of my favorite VHS tapes. It TERRIFIED ME! This is a perfect memorable short, I never played the game, but I have remembered the ad vividly years later.
I played this game so much as a kid. I saw it at a store and saw an image of him in his bed with these two awful purple arms coming out of the wall. I thought about it non-stop and a year later went to visit my cousins and randomly saw it on his computer desktop. I couldn't believe my eyes. I played it with him for years, both of us horrified the entire time. Especially when his parents attack him as zombies.
I always thought that Tim Burton would make it into a live action feature film and with Stop Motion scenes in it you know once he did his best work on doing 'Frankenweenie' that came out in theaters October 2012!

It just seemed like a smaller house and there wasn't much of a town or weekly characters ,just random episodes with various dreams . they went over budget and producers had differences anyway ..
