Definitely one of my favorite tracks on this album. That chorus around 1:05 hits SO hard. Melodically gorgeous. And I love, as always, any time Chino comes in with one of his high pitched WOOOs! And the visuals on this one are particularly compelling. Whoever made these visualizers deserves huge credit. I do find it amusing to remember my reaction when the first single, Ohms, dropped. I thought, "Oh no! It's...not good." How wrong I was. I still don't like that song....and find it a bit funny how the first single just so happens to be my least favorite song on the album. But once I took in the entire thing....and having listened to the whole album maybe 5 times now...I'm so so happy with what they've given us. And it has NOT lost any magic with repeat listens. Gore was a grower for me...and I still find 40% of that album to be just meh, with a few great songs sprinkled throughout. But Ohms may end up tying Koi, SNW, and Diamond Eyes as my favorite album(s) of theirs. It reminds me most of Koi in terms of a slight shoegaze dream-pop influence...but it feels more aggressive and honed(like Diamond Eyes)...and much darker, in a cosmic gothic sort of way....if that makes sense. Before Ohms was released, I had my own hope for what it would sound like. And I gotta say....they pretty much delivered precisely what I was hoping for. Now back to listening to it..... :D

I can't believe this riff goes as hard as it does and Abe is still using his typical single kick drum method. Any other band would've put the kick right onto the same rhythm as Stephen's guitars, but not for him. Still kills it with his own style, i love it.

@@MiguelRamirez-cr7gh The one I find does this the most is Mood Ring, their whole last album Stargazer sounds like they're trying to catch the White Pony sound but fail to do it in full like Deftones. Other bands like Loathe do have that Deftones twang to em but they expand upon it further to make their own distinct sound with an almost darker ambient sound mixed with shoegaze.
This track is a pretty good encapsulation of what I love about Deftones. A screaming riff heavy verse and then soaring gorgeous chorus and Chino's vocals. I love this band so much.
This album has exceeded my insanely high expectations of Deftones music. These guys are the best of the best and to do it as long as they have is truly unbelievable.
This is easily my favorite off the album. The song is made of three parts on repeat and each is sick AF. I especially like how when the final riff is played, it has a bit of a cleaner edge to it and ends the song on an aggressive tone. You can hear the individual notes better. And little details like that are why these guys only create masterful tunes.
