Worthing FC in the English 6th tier (National League South). I've posted a long comment below explaining what makes that save unique and interesting 🙂
An interesting save in England (and one that, as a local, I'm tempted to try myself) is Worthing FC. They play in the National League South, the lowest playable English league in the game, and it's the first time they've been playable in FM as they have been down in the Isthmian Leagues for the last 20 years.
Their story is an interesting one.
In January 2015 they were close to going bust as they had racked up bills of over £200,000, but in March that same year, they were bought by a local man named George Dowell, who, at the age of 21, became the youngest football chairman in the UK.
George actually used to be a youth player at Worthing and had even made it on to the bench once, but at 17 he was involved in a serious car crash that left him paralysed from the neck down and ended his football career before it had even begun. He then used the sizeable compensation payment from the accident to buy Worthing FC, cleared their debts, and began investing.
At the end of that season, they finished 3rd in the Isthmian League Division One (the 8th tier of English football), won the play-offs, and were promoted to the Isthmian Premier (the 7th tier).
After more investment and steady improvement in both the team and the stadium, Worthing were in 1st place in 2019-20, but sadly the season was cut short and made null and void because of the pandemic. The following season was called off after only 8 games, with Worthing again in top spot. Last season (2021-22), Worthing ran away with the title, finishing 10 points clear and scoring 100 goals to gain promotion the the National League South (the 6th tier) for the first time in their history.
At the time of writing, Worthing are doing very well and are currently sitting in 4th place after 27 games, 11 points off 1st with 19 games left to play
Taking this plucky little team on a journey through the leagues to take them up to the Premier League and Champions League would be a real achievement and would be quite a challenging long term project. They only really have one major rival anywhere near them geographically too, Brighton and Hove Albion, so if you can make in it to the same league as Brighton, there's a tasty local derby waiting for you!

I did a save called the Orient Express based on the multiple routes of the train line! starting in Turkey and coming home by moving to a country that borders that country along the route. Cue a journey and a half through most of Europe
That sounds like an epic adventure. I do like the idea of one of those homeward bound style saves
Always enjoy your save/country videos. I don't know if this is all that interesting but I recently did a save at Norwegian club Viking where I was only allowed to sign Scandinavian players. Really wanted to conquer Europe as a Viking team but alas I never did manage to get further than the quarter finals of the champions league.

Along with that text of “sleeping giant,” “underdog” should be my favorite save, “funny name”. Just started to save with the Belgian fourth tier team “SC City Pirates Antwerpen” . In years past I took Royal Wootton Bassett Town F.C. to glory
There’s nothing wrong with managing a team with a funny name! When I was in Northern Mariana they had some fabulous club names in that league! Best of luck at the Pirates

L.R. Vicenza currently playing in serie c, they have won one coppa Italia 1996 and reached the semi finals of the Cup Winners' Cup the following season, losing to eventual winners Chelsea.

two tough challenges, chertonovo moscow(can only sign youth intake players or players who came through their youth ranks), bursaspor(one of the only six turkish sides to win super lig, they are in 3rd tier, have 50 million debt and have transfer embargo for 1 and a half season)
Bursaspor are a great save - I featured them in a video I did for the Managers Seat recently. I've often thought of doing a let's play series with Chertanovo - it does look like a great challenge. Are they back as a playable club in FM23?
@@FMLlama unless you add russian lower league you can't, remembered two more ideas in russia, you can manage SKA Khabarovsk easternmost russian club or fc baltika who are from kalingrad the western most russian team
for rebuilding a fallen giant i recommend pro vercelli, they are the 7th rank in seria titles with 7, for context roma,lazio and napoli together have 7 titles
My best save was with a second tier Polish team. Arka Gdynia.
Brought them from the second tier of Poland to the Champions League, built Poland up, did well with them at a world cup or two. Was fun

the city is called Porto not OPorto but i loved the ideia and in portugal you also have Vitoria Futebol Clube who was in 1st league in portugal few years ago due to financial problems and were also relegated to the 3rd division.
Os Beleneses who had a misunderstanding with their SAD separating themselves Club and SAD and now "B SAD" is on the 1st division and the club with all it's history went back do district leagues but just last year reached national leagues and want to win the 1st league as they once did
Last one in Portugal Lusitano Ginásio Clube wich was once in the Portuguese 1st division in 1952 being the 1st club from Alentejo to reach such a higher league and reaching the semi-finals in the portuguese cup the club in 2016 didn't have a 1st team only junior teams in competition due to problems with it's own SAD now is in Campeonato de Portugal (portuguese 4th tier)
not forget the Académica de Coimbra, which is the oldest team still "alive" and who has a BIG stadium because of the Euros! also play in the Lower Leagues, so a nice save in a nice university city!

I still play my 1860 save on fm21, one of my favourites ive ever done. Germany is so much fun to manage in and building a team to dethrone Bayern including the 2nd team in the first year is a great challenge

Hey Mate, I chose Salgueiros because of your video. I’m in my 6th season now. Enjoyed back to back to back promotions in my first 3 seasons. 3 years in the top flight now, and as we speak I am 4th place with 49 points from 25 games, 6 points off top place
That in an incredible rise - congrats! Do you think you can topple the big 3 eventually or is it just to hard to bridge the gap?
@@FMLlama I’m not too sure, I ended up getting 4th place, 2 points off Porto. They just have the financial power to thrive. I on the other hand was given a budget of 500k for the new season, and the owner told me he won’t be funding the club anymore

I've decided to have a crack at Salgueiros as it sounds fun, I was struggling through a couple of saves not really enjoying them. But I've also decided to make it difficult like a true Llama fan should. Free transfers only!

Salgueros is a great save I managed them in fm21 and it is one of my favourite saves of all time it was very enjoyable learning about its history what made it even better is i chose them without knowing anything about them assuming they were some small club in portugal

every year i do the same type of save: i start in the real life clube i work in Portugal (3rd, 4rth tier) and i rise until i become the best ever, journeyman type

I've always had a soft spot for 1860 Munich and I don't even know why. I've managed them in every single fm game and fifa career mode and is currently managing them in fm23, it's been a bit harder than fm20 so far.
Tactics definitely seem harder to get right this FM
Great video but need to make this correction, Porto are not the reigning title winners, Benfica has 37 league titles 😉 Also, technically, Deco was not developed by Salgueiros, just had one or two good seasons there that made Porto sign him. He actually came to Portugal to play for Benfica, was loaned to Alverca where he caught the eye of bigger clubs.
Apologies - I used over complicated language there and it's led to a misunderstanding. The word 'reigning' means 'current' rather than 'most'. Benfica have the most titles, but Porto won the most recent one, so for this season they are the 'reigning champions', just like the person that is currently the king or queen is referred to as the 'reigning monarch'. As a Benfica supporter, I'm sure you'll be hoping Porto's reign as champions is short!

I never usually like starting off on a really low league team, but after the popularity of Wrexham I decided to give it a go and I'm sure like many others that have tried it will tell you it's really fun. Especially if you watch the documentary and then you use those players. It's really satisfying and you can easily get connected to the story of the people there, for example. Peter mullin in the show is this really prolific league two striker and he's actually really good at that lower level, he scored 55 goals in the first season, then 60 goals in league 2 and then 30 goals in League 1 absolute beast

Fc nordjaesland are one of the best teams to go they are amazing at bringing few youth there crazy good check them out and there average squad age is 20.8 which is mental plus there top of the league too

Outside Europe, I think Ferro Carril Oeste from Argentina is the best choice for a long-term save
They were one of the founder teams in our professional era and were consistent in First Division during the 20th Century. They even won two Argentine Leagues during the 80s
However, they got relegated to second division in the 1999-2000 season, and they were unable to come back
You can keep your PSG's, your Red Stars, and your Paris FC. There's only 1 club in Paris, and that's Paris 13 Atletico!
