another reason to root for the Bills: for many years, the Bills seemed destined to eventually relocate to Toronto, even going as far as to play one "home" game there per year. That caused fans to start rallying to keep the team in Buffalo, an effort that eventually succeeded a few years ago, when the Bills were bought by new ownership that cancelled the Toronto series and reaffirmed their commitment to Buffalo. Bills Mafia fought pressure from the league and the previous owner to try and keep their team, and they won. That's something not a lot of pro sports fanbases can say. (Sure, the owners rattled their saber about a move to Austin, Texas a few months ago, but that's standard procedure in the modern NFL- gotta squeeze those taxpayer dollars for new stadiums somehow)
Driving around Buffalo right before this past presidential election was wild. Every other city in the nation had Trump/Pence or Biden/Harris signs in their front yards, but not Buffalo. Not true In English football there’s literally been one major relocation, even suggesting a relocation would spark mass protests and the owner or chairman probably being ousted In the only relocation ever really a team called Wimbledon were moved about 50 miles away, after the relocation the fans started there own team and through our system of promotion and relegation they climbed all the way back to the exact same league as before and are now even slightly better than the team that moved away For an American equivalent, imagine the New Jersey nets fans were angry at the move to Brooklyn so they started their own team and eventually managed to actually rank hire than the Brooklyn The two moved were quite similar in terms of distance and the fact that both sides weren’t really that well supported or successful in comparison to others Now imagine if this was on a wider scale and the supersonics could get a new team or Oakland could have their team back, this is why I think European sports are better structured
@@Britboy404 Yes, ideally in the NFL if a team like the Jets or Lions sucked for so long, they would be relegated and a new team would be put in their place. But from where? The lower level league from the NFL is currently College. And they can't become pro teams. If the USFL or XFL become better leagues in 5-10 years, maybe. But the reason this could never happen are the stadiums. NFL owners want the biggest, boldest, newest stadiums with luxury boxes, suites, heated seats, large scoreboards, in-stadium fine-dining restaurants, etc. Any new team replacing a relegated team wouldn't have a billion dollar stadium. And you can't build one unless you're sure you're going to the NFL, and a stadium takes 5 years to build. If you wait until then, the team and players won't be the same. So, it's difficult.
The NFL isnt arguably a more competitive league, its a fact that it is. I'm an Englishman that grew up on "soccer" the only competition in that sport is who has the most money, the draft and salary cap makes the NFL so much more interesting and is exactly why I have fallen in love with the sport...its a much fairer playing field and you never know who will be good come next season.
It's hard to implement an NFL style draft system because of how international football is. American Football is primarily played in the american continent (and its mostly the US). If anybody dare to propose this to FIFA, you can bet most clubs on the entire globe wouldn't be happy with this.
@@zebimicio5204 Weird take, no one said football should be moved to only be played in America...that would be really odd. Implementing a wage cap like the NFL would help massively.
@@alexrobertson1472 another weird take, no one said anything about koving football to america. I said its easier to implement a more streamline wage cap in the nfl due to the sport mostly be played in the US. Simple things such as financial fair play is barely non existent, how do you think a wage cap can even be implemented, let alone be accepted?

Green Bay Packers are unique, imagine a team from like Banbury or another small town not even a suburb of a big city, not only being in the Premier but the winningest team in Premier history and still good today. They have been to conference championship 6 times in the last 15 years, think Semi finals of the Champions league, winning it all once. What I like about the Steelers is they always seem to draft some fantastic WRs in the late rounds of the drafts that turn into some great value. You could equate that to a European football team using their academy and having their players become starters
It's crazy that almost every steelers rookie from this draft is starting. Najee, Pat, Green, Moore, and Harvin. Then their other picks like Loudermilk and Norwood are getting pretty significant playing time as well and looking the part.

We achieved early dominance by winning Super Bowls 8,9,13, and 14. One of the best defensive lines in NFL history with the Steel Curtain that protected us through the 70's. In conclusion, Here We Go Steelers. Wave those Terrible Towels high.
Every year we think the quarterback class is stacked with prodigies and every year we learn that first year qbs aren't ready for NFL caliber defenses. The better question is who will still be relevant in 2-3 years.
Nah the 22 QB class is trash. They'll be lucky if even one of them gets drafted in the first round. The second and third round QBs from this year are more likely to get starting jobs next year than those bums.

We have the same complaint about baseball here, wishing they would adopt some of the practices the NFL has used to increase parity between teams.
Implementing wage caps similar to that of the nfl wouldnt really garner much support from most clubs around the world. Simple things such as financial fair play is barely non existent, how do you think a wage cap can even be implemented, let alone be accepted?
@@zebimicio5204 More weirdness. Doesn't require support, FIFA and UEFA make the rules, clubs follow them or get chucked out of competition.

Surprised at them not being top 5 odds (must have been 6th or 7th) as they've made the conference finals the last 2 years and improved this off season getting some good players. Jaguars to London isn't happening. The city of Jacksonville and the Jags are working on a stadium renovation plan that will lock the team in for decades. To this, about a month ago the team and city agreed on a new training facility, and then a week ago Shad Khan committed $300 million on a hotel next to the stadium on the river. Construction of both starts in January.
FACTS, finally someone who understands.
i get to wear a cheese hat. I'm dutch, I finally found my purpose
I would like to pitch the Carolina Panthers. We have a nice color scheme, great fanbase, the best running back who is always injured, and we're amazing for two years every decade
tfw all the other expansion teams are getting shoutouts but yours aren't even worth a brief highlight
(panther fan here)
I wasn't aware that Henry signed for the Panthers? Unless you mean he's the best of those RBs who are always injured?
@@KindredBrujah CMAC > Henry. Just the truth
@@cw4959 Apart from by any measurable analysis, sure.
Edit: Just checked and this is mostly true. McCaffrey has better hands though (fewer fumbles per carry).
I still wish that, Jerry didn't sell the team. I understand why he did though.
So glad you brought up the Steelers turning down the “Americas Team” nickname. Lotta people don’t seem to know that. RIP “The Chief” Mr. Rooney. He said “We don’t want to be America’s Team, We want to be Pittsburgh’s team” and then basically ended up being America’s Team anyways. Legend
Wouldn't it make sense for Washington Insert Name Here to be America's team because Washington doesn't belong to any particular state?
Everyone hates the squealers. Shut up.
@@volusiasorange Oooof. You like the Bengals? Browns? Gotta be one of em
@@B-A-L good question
@@jared3868 Wow. I gotta say, good sir, that is probably the dopest reply I’ve ever gotten to a comment. I appreciate that a lot and I believe you. Being from Western PA and living in Pittsburgh for a bit now that’s of course the story I always heard growing up. Folktales are strong though lol and it’s much more likely the multiple-times corroborated story is the right one.
I love how the two teams who made the Super Bowl weren't even in the Vegas top 5. It was a postseason for the ages!!
Always been a Patriots fan and always will be good with Bill Belichick as coach
i knew he was gonna do gb dirty lol, Green bay is a pretty big city that is in a valley with 8+ more citys. have been one the most consistent teams in the last 30 years and have way better odds at the super bowl then 3 of the 5 top teams to vegas
Come pick the Buffalo Bills my European friends! We’re a small market underdog team that has started to do really well over the last few seasons!
We also just kicked the Chief’s ass last weekend sooo there’s that as well.
I got sold on the table stuff xD
BUFFALO ALL THE WAY THIS TIME GARY!!!
Everything could be said about the chargers too
To be fair, the Chiefs are absolute sheeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiit
What the hell happened to them? Isn't this the same core as last year? The same defense? The same offense? This te fell of a cliff!
If I'm going to choose a NFL team to follow, Buffalo Bill's would be my first choice. Just because of the fans.
This season has actually had really close and good games one of the better seasons to watch NFL also with fans back it adds that dynamic.
I know how much Europeans love history and if history is what you want, you gotta root for the Steelers. Few teams compete in terms of legendary players of generations past. We achieved early dominance by winning Super Bowls 8,9,13, and 14. One of the best defensive lines in NFL history with the Steel Curtain that protected us through the 70's. There was even a moment during WWII where the league was short players and teams combined, so we fused with the Philadelphia Eagles and got nicknamed the Steegles. So that was kinda fun.
FWIW updated Vegas Odds for SuperBowl:
5 AZ Cards
4 LA Rams
3 KC Chiefs
2 TB12 Buccaneers
1 Buffalo Bills
As a british raiders fan, if there is one thing thats not on brand and that is what Gruden did. Historically the most inclusive team in the nfl not caring who you are and were your from as long as you give it all
Y'all should pick a team in the AFC North. (Cincy - Bengals, CLE- Browns, Balt- Ravens, shitsburg- Steelers.) All teams hate each other, all have a great young QB (except Pitt), and the division has historical been competitive, especially now that the Browns don't suck.
The Steelers have an old used-to-be-great QB. But tbh, minus the Lions, you won't get better rivalries than in the NFC North.
Lol I'm British and start of this season I went for the Ravens cause I watched Ray Lewis when they watched the super bowl and fell in love with the guy
Waiting on the inevitable NBA vid, and hoping for an NHL one
Having your team fail time and time again to eventually win is the essence of fandom
