I think the toy soldiers craze re-enacting battles is the worst. They always know better, their strategy's "always" work. And football. But that's men, they can have hobbies, somehow women shouldn't have hobbies. Who is it hurting. There are women who can't have children, empty nest syndrome. Just to name two conditions. It's a natural feeling to hold a baby, it's comfort. I'm not a collecter but i love the video's.
A year later watching this and I'm actually so turned off by the questions, the judgement, the not so covert shaming. He needs a doll to cuddle and bond with (had he had one to foster nurturing, perhaps he'd have a better relationship with his own children). Then he needs to watch and I take the hundreds of thousands of people across all nations and creeds HEALING from interacting with dolls, even a brief cuddle and the experience like I share on my channel, then sit and re-evaluate HIS OWN LIFE choices in a quiet corner. I get ratings chasing, but this PoopShow is the reason why there's such disrespect and bullying the doll community. I personally don't like closed eye sculpts, But I will never judge those who do because there are some very sweet looking ones and that's THEIR choice. We as a nation have seen a massive rise in opinionated ENTITLED folk who need to be told LOUD AND CLEAR their OPINIONS DO NOT MATTER. PERIOD. The people who have the power of numbers.... need to do better.
The sleeping dolls do not look dead. A dead baby is blue. These dolls are painted to look like they have real skin of a live baby. That’s where the art is. It’s not easy to make vinyl look like real skin.
I really like how the reborn artist (guest) really takes up for her self. Hi I am a married 21 year old woman who struggles with infertility after 4 years of trying and almost giving up hope I decided to get a reborn since I got him he has helped me so much to not focus so much on trying to have a baby I can look at him and hold him and it’s so comforting I don’t think this is crazy in any type of way for me it’s a coping mechanism ❤️

I am a reborn artist and a collector. I don’t see any thing wrong with it. Some women can’t have kids , or have lost a baby. Having a reborn helps in so many ways.
I think so too. He’s too closed minded. If he was in our shoes, he’d be more forgiving. I have anxiety and I can’t have babies so dolls are the next best thing.
It's been nearly 15 years since this aired, I believe Dr. Phil should take another look at this subject. Dolls are more than a hobby, there have been studies done that show they can be theraputic to some people that suffer from mental disorders such as dementia. Also this aired before Covid which changed our whole social structure, so perhaps he might have a different attitude towards those of us who find joy and comfort in our reborn dolls.
Facts. My babies bring joy to those who don't even like dolls. I've seen cuddles change their whole moods and days. To the point where I've created a company, now do TH-cam, and will soon post reactions of people. The doll industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and growing. With the vast array of reasons WHY people buy them, ignorance just needs to stop.
On a side note, real reborn dolls are an incredible art form that require a lot of skill. They can also make a huge difference to people with dementia amongst others.
Did you grow up in the 90s during the porcelain doll craze? I had a similar experience. I just hated that I couldn’t touch their hair or play with them. 😂
I felt like dr Phil and his assistant were both trying to shame this woman out of enjoying her dolls. I wouldn’t have wanted to be a part of his show for that reason. I wonder if she knew they were going to make fun of her or doll collectors in general if she would have done it. Many women have felt the way about purses and shoes that they’ve seen in stores as she said how she’s felt at the doll show. And shoes and purses can get as expensive as dolls. If you paying your bills and have money left over to buy something you enjoy than you should do it and not have to feel ashamed about it. The sound of dr Phil’s voice creeps me out and make my skin crawl. I ALWAYS turn the channel when his show comes on.

I have 3 reborns they are also known as medical devices for depression anxiety and grief. I lost baby girl in 2015 and my reborns help me with the pain of never holding my baby girl. I don't buy baby formula I make my own out of coffee creamer and water
Personally I've had two real children but being a woman who came from a huge family I always wanted as many babies as I could have but wasn't able to have any more after my 2nd child so I'd love to have a reborn doll just to cuddle up with and feel that baby love.
I am a reborn artist… these babies do not look like a “dead” baby unless it is purposely created to look that way. My son was stillborn … trust me…. I know. Some People do create alternative dolls to look like zombies or whatever. But just a normal sleeping reborn does not look “dead”.
My daughter was stillborn, I have a friend that's a reborn artist and some of her dolls looks like a real de**d baby I told her that her coloring is off it gives her baby's a ashie look some of them looks creepy

I am a beginner as a reborn artist. I’ve made 4 babies which I kept for myself. I don’t think they are good enough to sell. I also have purchased 2 babies from great artist. It’s a hobby to me. I was more interested before being a grandmother. Now that I am a grandmother My interest is to get better on reborning and selling it for women who needs to fill an emptiness that they have and also for hospital that have Alzheimer patients as therapy.
So grown men can be obsessed with football? They can buy all kinds of shirts and accessories. They can spend tons and go to football games, play fantasy football, and memorise all the players. The same goes for men who play video games and love star wars collectibles, etc. But women can't play with realistic dolls and buy them clothes? That's creepy and obsessive? Wasn't able to have kids because of health difficulties, now need a hysterectomy so can't ever have a baby and it makes me very sad at times. Yes, I totally agree they were bullying the guest and I found the whole format of this show offensive to the reborn community and families! And another thing, why did they chose a comedian to interview the group of reborn artist/friends? That makes no sense to me at all. Reborn babies are not funny. They are beautiful works of art that are meant to comfort and console. It is a lovely way to feel compassion and love. I have 3 reborn babies myself and I'm saving up for a full body silicone baby. I wish they had one of those for them to hold. That would have freaked them out for sure!
I'm a reborn artist and a collector! It's wonderful to create such beautiful reborns, and I love it when my customers receive their babies and the joy it brings to them. Everyone will have an opinion, and that's actually ok as long as your reborn makes you happy that's all that matters. Reborning is such a wonderful experience. I feel very blessed and very humble to be able to create something that truly makes people happy.
I make them and sell them. I have one that I fell in love with and made for myself. It's a beautiful little remake of a little baby with down syndrome. I used to take care of down syndrome adults and my baby reminds me of the love I had for my sweet little people.
If someone made fashion dolls or porcelain dolls it’s ok but silicone baby dolls are creepy?! It’s not different than any other craft hobby. It’s an art!! I love them. Women love the feel of a baby in arms. Nothing wrong with that.

I need to add to this topic from a dementia patient view point. Baby dolls stuffed animals bring a sense of calm to a brain that is slowly dying. There is no wrongness in filling an emotional need whether it's from a mental health perspective or from just a desire to love one.

I'm wanting one made in my likeness of when I was born a month early on January 6, 1971 and in the likeness of all 4 of my daughters of when they were born on January 13, 1993, May 28, 1995, January 31, 1998 and April 9, 2000. Birth weight and length. They are going to be bed setting dolls only. Not for play. I have one grandson so these dolls won't go to my daughters. None of them, except one, have children, they don't want children ever. My 2nd daughter has absolutely no plans on having any more children, ever. They are also good for the mothers who lost their babies from a premature birth or a stillborn. That's how the "re-borns" began. A Woman lost her baby during birth and she wanted a doll made in that baby's likeness, birth weight and length. It helped her recover from that loss.

I have OCD with cleaning but I have lost a baby in 2001 and have 4 adults and a teenager... I won't be seeing grandbabies and the need to hold and rock one is great for me.. I have a full full time job as well as several other hobbies. I’ve always loved dolls, from when I was little, the more realistic the better. Open eyed dolls have much more personality. Just watched the episode. The correspondent was super annoying and offensive. Unfortunately, they didn’t delve into the many reasons people purchase reborns. Some women have lost babies. Whether still birth, miscarriages, etc. Some women are infertile. In my case, I have an adult child and went through a phase of really wanting another child (or so I thought). After hanging out with the reborn, I realized my attention span wasn’t what it used to be.
Yes and they are also used in nursing homes for women with dementia patients because they find comfort in the dolls and bring back past memories of being a mom taking care of their own babies!

Yes it’s low demand because being in a relationship with most people is a psychotic experience that takes a toll on you emotionally and physically, especially if you are a very compassionate person. So pets are much easier and they give you so much in return for nearly nothing. Unconditional love is best experienced through pets. It’s highly therapeutic, can’t say the same about having a relationship with most people.
I had that too, people tought I left a baby in my car too.Here (in Belgium) it s not that known yet. Shure they ware diapers! I dont spend thousend of dollars on them. Just a fiew 100 euro s . You can make every hobby as expensive as you wish

I agree with people saying that buying real diapers and real formula for these baby dolls is ridiculous. I am a mom to a premature baby boy and I can only find his formula online for often double the price because the stores sell out of it so fast due to the formula shortage. So people buying his formula that he needs to get the nourishment that he desperately needs to grow and be healthy is stupid. We have bought a couple of these for my daughter as well as nieces and nephews that we babysit from time to time. Instead of buying actual baby formula I buy powdered cow milk by the pound at Kroger or Walmart for around $10. Instead of purchasing a $50-$60 case of newborn diapers every week. I spent around $200 on 50 used cloth diapers so my nieces, nephews and daughter can still feed and change the baby but we aren’t wasting resources that babies actually need.

One of most revered, sweetest auntie's (may she test in peace) collected special edition dolls in special outfits. It was her passion and she enjoyed making her show room perfect (walks lined with shelves from floor to ceiling).

Some people obsess over watching and believing Dr. Phil. Hobbies are a fine thing. We all know the line we need to draw. Its healthy.

I am a beginner as a reborn artist. I’ve made 4 babies which I kept for myself. I don’t think they are good enough to sell. I also have purchased 2 babies from great artist. It’s a hobby to me. I was more interested before being a grandmother. Now that I am a grandmother My interest is to get better on reborning and selling it for women who needs to fill an emptiness that they have and also for hospital that have Alzheimer patients as therapy.

So grown men can be obsessed with football? They can buy all kinds of shirts and accessories. They can spend tons and go to football games, play fantasy football, and memorise all the players. The same goes for men who play video games and love star wars collectibles, etc.
But women can't play with realistic dolls and buy them clothes? That's creepy and obsessive? What is different from men and their obsessions? They are not hurting anyone or anything so leave them alone and deal with your own feelings about it, with your own ego.

Wasn't able to have kids because of health difficulties, now need a hysterectomy so can't ever have a baby and it makes me very sad at times. I recently started looking at reborns because I have all these nurturing feelings I can't express. I wouldn't be treating the doll like a real baby but I have a need to hold and cuddle one. Someone like 'doctor' Phil making fun of it angers me. I'd be interested to know if the woman in green has children.
Was it just me, or was anyone else pissed off when Dr. Phil was making the baby's head flop back and forth? Yes, I totally agree they were bullying the guest and I found the whole format of this show offensive to the reborn community and families! And another thing, why did they chose a comedian to interview the group of reborn artist/friends? That makes no sense to me at all. Reborn babies are not funny. They are beautiful works of art that are meant to comfort and console. It is a lovely way to feel compassion and love. I have 3 reborn babies myself and I'm saving up for a full body silicone baby. I wish they had one of those for them to hold. That would have freaked them out for sure!
I'm a reborn artist and a collector! It's wonderful to create such beautiful reborns, and I love it when my customers receive their babies and the joy it brings to them. Everyone will have an opinion, and that's actually ok as long as your reborn makes you happy that's all that matters. Reborning is such a wonderful experience. I feel very blessed and very humble to be able to create something that truly makes people happy.
I make them and sell them. I have one that I fell in love with and made for myself. It's a beautiful little remake of a little baby with down syndrome. I used to take care of down syndrome adults and my baby reminds me of the love I had for my sweet little people.

If someone made fashion dolls or porcelain dolls it’s ok but silicone baby dolls are creepy?! It’s not different than any other craft hobby. It’s an art!! I love them. Women love the feel of a baby in arms. Nothing wrong with that.

I need to add to this topic from a dementia patient view point. Baby dolls stuffed animals bring a sense of calm to a brain that is slowly dying. There is no wrongness in filling an emotional need whether it's from a mental health perspective or from just a desire to love one.

I'm wanting one made in my likeness of when I was born a month early on January 6, 1971 and in the likeness of all 4 of my daughters of when they were born on January 13, 1993, May 28, 1995, January 31, 1998 and April 9, 2000. Birth weight and length. They are going to be bed setting dolls only. Not for play. I have one grandson so these dolls won't go to my daughters. None of them, except one, have children, they don't want children ever. My 2nd daughter has absolutely no plans on having any more children, ever. They are also good for the mothers who lost their babies from a premature birth or a stillborn. That's how the "re-borns" began. A Woman lost her baby during birth and she wanted a doll made in that baby's likeness, birth weight and length. It helped her recover from that loss.

I have OCD with cleaning but I have lost a baby in 2001 and have 4 adults and a teenager... I won't be seeing grandbabies and the need to hold and rock one is great for me.. I roleplay and even mine has new diapers on and clothes etc and there very therapeutic for women whom cannot have children and older women in care homes, so how can Dr Phil and this other person say a thing when they don't know themselves

The dolls in this episode actually look kind of primitive compared to the 'reborns' today, which are often really lifelike.
It’s not just 2 years old. I’ve been doing it for nearly 20 yrs. I make them and sell some, give many away, and collect other artists dolls. If it’s a cult there are over 1 million worldwide. I have a full full time job as well as several other hobbies. I’ve always loved dolls, from when I was little, the more realistic the better. Open eyed dolls have much more personality. Just my two sense.

Yes Absolutely. I so agree. I had lost a baby 20 years ago. I had felt missing and feel that reborn dolls help with my pain of a loss of a baby daughter. And I am 59 years old and I’m unable to have any more children. I am a mother of 4 children that are real.

I collect reborns and I also make and sale them It's just a hobby. I sale mine at reasonable prices. But I don't play with them I will change there clothes to match the seasons.

Just watched the episode. The correspondent was super annoying and offensive. Unfortunately, they didn’t delve into the many reasons people purchase reborns. Some women have lost babies. Whether still birth, miscarriages, etc. Some women are infertile. In my case, I have an adult child and went through a phase of really wanting another child (or so I thought). After hanging out with the reborn, I realized my attention span wasn’t what it used to be.
Yes and they are also used in nursing homes for women with dementia patients because they find comfort in the dolls and bring back past memories of being a mom taking care of their own babies!

Regressing by being in a relationship with a pet? Yes it’s low demand because being in a relationship with most people is a psychotic experience that takes a toll on you emotionally and physically, especially if you are a very compassionate person. So pets are much easier and they give you so much in return for nearly nothing. Unconditional love is best experienced through pets. It’s highly therapeutic, can’t say the same about having a relationship with most people.

I agree with people saying that buying real diapers and real formula for these baby dolls is ridiculous.
I am a mom to a premature baby boy and I can only find his formula online for often double the price because the stores sell out of it so fast due to the formula shortage. So people buying his formula that he needs to get the nourishment that he desperately needs to grow and be healthy is stupid.
We have bought a couple of these for my daughter as well as nieces and nephews that we babysit from time to time. Instead of buying actual baby formula I buy powdered cow milk by the pound at Kroger or Walmart for around $10.
Instead of purchasing a $50-$60 case of newborn diapers every week. I spent around $200 on 50 used cloth diapers so my nieces, nephews and daughter can still feed and change the baby but we aren’t wasting resources that babies actually need.
