- It's D-day, the wait is finally over! After collecting my new Sonet which is a White & Black Dual Tone 1.5L Diesel Automatic from Kia Autobahn Powai Mumbai showroom, we head to Bayroute for a celebration lunch and then to the Gurudwara to bless the car before finally heading home, where my old Honda Civic gets a new partner.

Sir Please tell Me One Thing. Normally in Cars Steering wheel when we need to change the Song to Next Song we Push the Button Upwards but in Sonet or Other Kia Cars do we Push it downwards? Or is it just with My Car?
I’ve only experienced downwards for next song and upwards for previous in all cars I’ve driven.

Hi, my Sonet is driven 12k kms and just few days back I got the dpf warning for the first time coz my wife had been driving it only inside the society for a few days. As soon as I took it out to the main road and picked up some speed, the warning went away.

Sir I had tried the Ventilated Seats in the SHOWROOM. In those 20-30 Seconds after pressing the Button I couldn’t feel anything(engine was off). Sir how’s the Feature and does it work? Like in VW Taigun I could feel the Cool Air Immediately after pressing the Button.
For ventilated seats, you have an additional ac vent in the seat. So for you to feel you it, the ac needs to be on and so obviously the engine needs to be on too. Since it was off you couldn’t feel it. It’s good only in the initial moments when ur seats are hot from being in the sun. Once the entire car is sufficiently cool, you don’t feel the seat ventilation much.

Features wise, engine and driving pleasure wise definitely Sonet. But suspension and ride quality wise Nexon is better.

The Tire pressure is kept high when the car is transported from manufacturer to the dealer due to some safety reasons while transporting it in car trucks .. before taking the car out of showroom this needs to be checked and tires pressure should be reduced to 34-35 PSI.
The car was brought by truck to the warehouse in Bhiwandi from where it was driven 60 km to the showroom at the wrong pressure. The car was kept there for a good number of days before I took delivery and yet the pressure was not rectified which is a serious lapse from their side.

I drive with a heavy foot so I usually get a lower mileage than what others with the same car are getting. City - 9 to 11, Mix - 11 to 13, Highway - 13 to 17.

Brother , is there DPF issues in diesel Sonnet ?
I haven’t faced that issue so far. I have city and highway mixed driving. From what I know dpf issue arises only if you do continuous city drive.
Brother , are you happy with its driving dynamics and mileage ? Would you recommend it to a new buyer ?
Yes I’m very happy with it’s performance. But I’ll recommend it to someone with a family of 4 only.

It cost me 16.5 lakhs with showroom accessories and extended warranty. Without them it is 16.1, but prices are expected to increase in 2022.
