Correct. Like Germans after the war. They were helped but the people were made to suffer and it made them a stronger people which Europe has benefitted from. That was the right strategy. Americans aren't paying for the world anymore. In case nobody here noticed Trump was elected overwhelmingly. His team plan to invest domestically, and they're making drastic cuts. That gassing devil should have been taken out long ago, if Obama had the moral decency but Dems don't!!!! They'd much prefer to flood countries with refugees than get involved minimally to solve the matter entirely. I don't see how this is an American obligation. Let Arab nations deal with it, especially when they had the audacity to allow Assad back into their club knowing full well what he is and has done. The American people are sick to death of foreign hand outs.

Isn't it odd, that no one mentioned how Syrian resources to rebuild have been depleted over many years while control over much of Syrian territory where oil fields are, has been Occupied by the U.S. military.
And that of course has been depriving Syria of the income they needed, to pay their military and civil workers, so that many were reluctant support the Syrian Government while the US and their lackys were also undermining the economy and society with sanctions.

The Arab states could take the lead in funding Syria's reconstruction efforts. For efficient financial management, the government might consider leveraging the expertise of skilled professionals, potentially including those from Israel. Additionally, Syria might benefit from studying Israel's approaches to governance and development as a model for progress. 😊

So help to create democracy and independent justice systems and a professional police force, an independent national bank and so forth would be a more important help than rebuilding.

We are investing domestically and quite frankly the things we do have our taxes up for, we should be able to decide where our individual funds go to. Folks better get used to it, the fact that their ATM is out of service!!!! That's what happens when you rely on others for that luxury life and everything else. One day we're broke and they're screwed. This is NOT the situation to invest in and wouldn't be appreciated. The guy with the clout of the moment supposedly has quite a rap sheet!!!! Germans did a lot after the war to pick up the pieces and it made them the strong powerhouse of Europe into the future, which has benefitted many globally. Funding everyone and taking the world's populous isn't the solution nor is it sustainable.
