Thanks again Michael! This was a pleasure to watch. Also, if I remember correctly, the Beast figure's action feature allows him to flip. It never worked right, but that's why has has springs in his ankles.
Ah, that makes sense now. Neat idea. I can't see it working well though. So many other cool gimmicks though. Rictor's was brilliant. Thanks again, glad you enjoyed it!
I had so many of these as a kid. Many a good hour did I spend reading the comics and keeping the Brotherhood from taking over the back yard.
😁
7:08 that CLANG! sound had me cracking up 😂
😁
I'm not one to envy things in life but your collection is one of them. Thank you for taking the time to share it. It's always enjoyed.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. ✌️
Great collection, Congratulations, it's awesome. I love the X-Men stories from the 80's and 90's, my favorite crossover saga is Age of Apocalypse. Funny fact about Sabertooth is that before he became Wolverine arch-nemesis he was Iron Fist enemy.
Thanks. Just started reading Age of Apocalypse. Good time to read that one with all the multi-verse stuff going on right now in the MCU.
Yo the beast toy is a jumping toy, u are supposed to push him down with that back piece into a prejump position n then let him go I'm pretty sure. This brings back so many memories, good job!
I think the Beast toy had a backflip gimmick. The footpads were for grip
I had that one and it was for that, a very tricky and hard to repite backflip 😂
I love the first appearance Sabretooth figure. Had no idea his eyes glowed this whole time!!!!
Yeah that was a surprise to me as well. Discovered it by accident.
I had most of these as a kid and a few more. Archangel had a red version too. By the way, Bishops feature is back drawn gun, Gambits leg kicks and Beast is like a spring loaded flip feature.
Always liked gambit kick action, which he did alot of in the books and cartoons, but he's suppose to be a master of savant (French kickboxing)
@9:14 That's a great touch with the glow in the dark paint w/ "Cable."
Thanks!
I love this video. I had most of these and many others when I was a kid. Sadly, I gave them all to my little cousin when I "thought" I was too old for toys. Silly me lol, now I spend alot of time re-buying things I've previously owned before. As an X-Men buff myself, the tidbits you provided were a nice touch. Some video collections dont do that.
That little red guy that came with Genesis is called Spyne.
Thank you! 🙏
Nice collection, the best line of the X-Men for sure, even tough the Marvel Legends are awesome too!
Finally, a xmen video from someone who actually read the comics. So many reviews I see are from people who know next to nothing about x men, thanks for actually being knowledgeable
Thank you. Those were some great, memorable stories.
Loving this vid. So many memories. The lollipop with your Polaris came with Havok, and is a second energy projectile. To echo others, that tiger stripe Wolvie isn't broken, he has two separate action features: twist to slash action and spring loaded "retractable" claws.
That Apocalypse figure is huge! I had a small flimsy one with extendo legs. I also had Archange, Cyclops, Iceman and Mr Sinister.
Very cool. This video brings back so many memories. I didn’t realize how many variations of Cable there were.
Thanks, glad to hear it.
great show. I had bishop, pterodactyl guy, night crawler, wolverine . cant forget early 90s
Iceman was SOOO HARD to find in 1992-93 I remember. I never seen him in stores and I went daily to toys r us
classy show. I had like 4 of these. brings back memories. great show man.
My favorite line from x-men 97:
Wolverine: *Holding ears while being carried thru the air by Banshee* Who knew sensitive hearing could be so painful?!
Banshee: You think that's bad? You should hear me sing!
😆
You just took me back in time. Awesome.
Great video Michael! Brings back the memories, we had a few of those. I see the pink lollipop during the Joe Trivia Game Show.
Thanks Rai Rai. Yeah, I snuck that one in. 😁
This is fantastic. I have a couple right now. I'm so stuck on either making a shelf of these toy biz figures from my childhood, or doing updated figures of today like Mafex lol. So torn. Which is why I'm watching others collections.
You need to come to our Retro Toy-Con in November this year! We have voice actors from the 90s cartoon!
Thank you for the invite, but I won't be able to make it.
Awesome collection I just completed the basic figures from the uncanny X-Men and the x force
It’s so weird to think of these as vintage but yea they are I have so many of these in storage bin. Toy biz the cable and Wolverine collection
Same, still getting used to calling 90s figures, “vintage.” 😱
Loved watching this video, what a great line of figures. Outstanding... dare I say, uncanny collection!
Thanks!
Nice Collection!! I still love these figures.
Cool collection, I was honestly disappointed you didn't have Juggernaut, Mr. Sinister or Morph but Gambit, Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Beast are my favorites
awesome vid and great collection my friend
I dont know why but every time you say " I have no idea who this guy is" makes me crack up.
I enjoyed your video there it took me back to my childhood I remember that giant size apocalypse I remember having the giant size magneto gambit and weapon X. wolverine. It was cool seeing that You had a lot of the X-men figures I had grown up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wow Mike..that supersize Apocalypse is very good looking and it is almost as his eyes have a light up effect if you notice..now i am going to look for mine in storage and yeah just like you i bought him bcoz of his supersize/expanding body power.
You’re right, for a sec I thought they did light up but it’s just a great paint job.
Polaris is magnetos daughter the mirror was for the malice necklace. Polaris was possessed by malice more than once. In the 90’s Polaris was not aware of being magnetos daughter.
26:19 we really need that cable version for the marvel legends line
That first magneto figure, has a spark feature... and yes, beast does a front flip... put the back roller in the up position and while beast is standing use your finger to press him down then roll downward and he should front flip...
Awesome video. I dont own many vintage marvel figures but they're so much fun
Thanks!
I had so many of these as a kid! Now that I’m collecting them again, I wish I would’ve never parted with them the first time. 😅
Love to see it. Super cool collection. 🙌
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
The Best "gimmick" was pressing him down with the spring legs... the back part was to hold him down (yours seems very loose)... you let go and he pops up like a spring toy... aka "leaping"
Me and all those action figures had so many adventures when I was a kid
😁
If I'm not mistaken, I used to own the first Magneto figure you showed here (fixed helmet), and it has a gimmick on his back under the cape where if you spin a little wheel the tiny square on his chest lights up.
Thanks for the heads up. Just tried it and it doesn't work on mine. Weird gimmick. You'd think they'd just do a big magnet for him.
Gambit action gimmick is a kick that you use with the button on the back
Cajun kick action!
This is awesome!!
Awesome collection! 👍🏻🙂
Thank you!
i had wolverine, professor x, cyclops, magneto, gambit, cable, bishop, sabretooth, apocalypse. i always wanted the blackbird.
My aunt and uncle got me the Blackbird for Christmas one year-great playset. I had Cyclops, Iceman, Sauron, Cable, Gambit, and the orange Sabretooth, which I think I got in a trade for the original Magneto and Wolverine with the locking claws. I also had the original Cyclops but got rid of it once the Jim Lee-accurate version was released.
I picked up a X-Men 97 Cyclops figure from Target recently.
I have a lot of these! I started collecting in 1994, and, 28 years later I'm still going strong. Most of my old Toy Biz have been moved to my Marvel Earth 777 by this time, I have 3 Marvel Earth's: 616, 777, and 818. Some are now going into a 'For Sale' box, replaced by better figures as I do sometimes replace them with new figures. I try to keep duplicates to a minimum, but some does occur. At one point I was going to eliminate the Earth 777 which is mostly Toy Biz figures, but I then decided to throw Power Rangers, and some other Independent figures there.
👍
Great watch as usual. Would love to see a a vid on your WWE Mattel collection one day.
Planning on doing one for all my Macho Man figures soon. Did one for all my Warrior figures a while ago but it’s a Patreon exclusive. Might do a new public one down the road though.
Oh yeah professor x.
Special power: secret control panels.😂
Back in the days I collected only my favourite characters I had Ironman, Wolverine, Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America because these guys were in the SNES game war of the Gems. As for the villains I kept Apocalypse, Dr Doom and Thanos and Carnage
Cool collection, dude! I had many of the same. Sadly, mine went the way of the dodo.... thanks for the video!
Thanks for checking it out!
Man I had so many of those when I was a kid
Wolverine version 2 isnt broken. His gimmick is the claw slash, and the spring loaded claws are not supposed to stay in place.
Cool, one less broken figure then. 👍
G.w. bridge's gun was supposed to sound like it's firing, I had that iceman from series one and it was one of the first figure I ever kept in package cuz it was supposedly rare
Beast isn't broken. The dial on his back doesn't do anything. Just push down on him and release, and he does a "flip." Storm is supposed to light up. Batteries are non-replaceable. The original Cyclops had the same issue. The Cyclops you showed was my favorite figure.
Cool. I'll have to do a 'Jump--Off' completion with Topspin and Twintwist.
@@MichaelMercy the designers couldn't actually get the switch on Beast to work. It was supposed to be a spring loaded flip action feature. If I remember correctly, he was a delayed release from the rest of his wave due to delays in getting his feature to work as designed, and they ultimately just released it "good enough"
Great video, but I gotta add a cyclops thing. Everyone thinks he’s the Duke type, but he has one of the most complex story arcs and has really been a scumbag more of then not. My personal favorite X-Men
Thanks. Really? First I've ever heard of him being a scumbag. Everything I've read had him being a boy scout which drives the tough guys nuts.
12:30 ish, G. W. Bridge's gun clicking was supposed to be like a firing sound.
And a Polaris was a Rogue repaint,
Gambit kicks kis leg out...
the "lollipop" you have Polaris holding is one of the "power blasts" that belong to Havok
Pretty sure it’s from an old Kojak figure. 😎
@@MichaelMercy that’s a great joke tho lol
I had that GW Bridge figure as well -that gun mechanism always confused me too! It’s all it does btw!! 😂
Poor Bridge. Was he even a mutant or just like a fed?
I think the weird gun thing was just to make gun noises, I had him too
Best forge figure ever.
Got em ALL on card
I remember having a few x men figures like Wolverine and cyclops
At one point I had 70's Marvel Girl, Phoenix,Dark Phoenix and Shadowcat
The second magneto you showed was actually the 1st released.
Really?
@@MichaelMercy Yup.
Nice collector 😍😍!!!
Wolverine killed Genesis when he was captured by him.
Doh!
I have entire wave 1 sealed still from my child hood
cool, your Gambit still have the vinyl coat, I have him long time ago but his coat already ripped off.... now is not easy to find that figure with his coat in good condition... I also have the iceman, I often leave it in the Freezer till when my mom open it and scolded me that the freezer is not a toy storage... lol
‘Cool’ idea. Gotta try that. 🥶
@@MichaelMercy That was it's "action" feature, there were 2 versions, a whiteish and blueish translucent plastic, and on the chest and a couple of places, there was paint that became more visible after being frozen for a while.
Its beautiful collection saludos desde Mexicali bro
Gracias!
Cables name is Nathan summers..? He’s the child Scott summers
He uses many names. Dayspring is one he uses in the future.
Apocalipse action beautiful, like Friends
I also have that Cyclop and Jean Grey the Phoenix figure which can lit her eyes and hair, lol I remembered that I always make that Cyclop figure kiss the Phoenix figure same time I lit her eyes and hair.... also I have that classic costume wolverine which can retract his claws and that 'open mouth' Sabretooth, lol I often stick the wolverine claw into Sabretooth's mouth, ya know one thing I love about that series is not only the marvel 90s nostalgic, is the variants of wolverines like the Ninja wolverine and Space wolverine were my personal favorites.....
I had about 160 of these I just sold them off about 4 months ago the thing with these figures are if you're collecting for value they're not valuable at all
hi, Gambit had white eyes and blue sky gloves. What I have is like this. Did you paint it? Much better
Looks like I did, back in the 90s.
FYI: the beast figure is suppose to jump or flip
In mexico the bootleg dc figure like batman had the same kind of material in his cape like gambits trenchcoat
Something I always love is the X-Men figures my favorite is random I would always use on with my Marvel and DC heroes sometimes I would use like alien and predator always wanted to see a crossover with them once in awhile to use my Ninja Turtles
great review. never had any them but have got a prof-x in a lot years ago. is it me or does that cyclops figure look like John Cena ? lol , also that guy with the rumble feature reminds me of the later toybiz Marvel legends style Spider-man Shocker figure it had a similar gimmick
Scott definitely has Cena's personality from the later part of his career: hustle, loyalty & respect.
Man I remember having every last one of those figures. But I went to a hobby store and traded for g1 transformers.
Good deal?
Lol at Toybiz making them give Xavier a gun.
Lol it’s like the opposite of today. Everyone had to have a gun, even Lifeline.
spyne is genesis side kick name and hope your doing well my friend too
Thanks! You as well.
@@MichaelMercy i am minus losing my puppy last week to kidney failure im still collecting my joes and other stuff i post photos when i can on your page
I'm so sorry for your loss.
@@MichaelMercy thanks and she wasnt in any pain anyways i will send photos when I can anyways hope you are doing well and Lauan too
Polaris was just a repainted Rogue.i remember hated that Toy Biz did that instead of an original look for her.
Didn't notice that. Huh!
@Michael Mercy Did you play The X-Men video game from Capcom back in the day?
The arcade game? Yup, it was great, especially with 4 players.
They totally ripped off terminator in the 90s, but look up Deathlok from 1974. I genuinely think James Cameron read this and it inspired the Terminator. The look is similar and he is a soldier who was reanimated with cybernetics in the post apocalyptic future of 1990
The lollipop goes in the gun as a “laser” doesn’t it? Also Polaris is magnetos daughter sister of the twins and a repainted figure of Rouge
Cool, thanks! Wow, didn't even notice she's a repaint.
The 80s guy talking about a 90s thing ITS IMPOSSIBLE
Any idea how much these are worth?
Cyclops, someone you can always depend on........
... Unless you're his wife and kid.
always wondered why they never made a jean grey 🤔
Same. They did a 10" one, and some in the later Toybiz lines but never one that looks like she did on the animated series.
Neat.
Yo tengo de esa época.gambito.ciclope . Wolverine.cable.domino.coloso .bishop.y un x factor del futuro.
Your missing Mr Sinister
Dust...I live with i dogs I know all about dust, dirt, hair etc etc etc
Remarkable Collection Congratulations Micheal and thanks also I loved all The X-Men stories from the 1970's,The 1980's,The 1990's,The 2000's,The 2010's, and today, also The Toy Biz X-Men,X-factor,and X-Force collection are superb, also thank you for sharing keep up the good work and Nerdmaste.😎😊😀🙂👍👊🦸🏋️🤾🇺🇸🙅💪🤛
Thank you kindly! 🙏
Can I ask are they worth anything? I just bought a locker with about 100 or so NIB figures/
Some of them, yes. Most of them, not much. Check eBay completed listings for prices.
@@MichaelMercy ok thank you. looks like about $10 each i think?
Loving this vid. So many memories. The lollipop with your Polaris came with Havok, and is a second energy projectile. To echo others, that tiger stripe Wolvie isn't broken, he has two separate action features: twist to slash action and spring loaded "retractable" claws.
