Remove Darts that you don't want to keep!

When we do fittings on our garments, you might find it easiest to pin out a dart when you are in the fitting. But what if you don't want have that dart in your final garment/pattern? Are you stuck with committing to keeping it?? NO! -as long as you make sure you are doing this on a mock up and change change the pattern. It's a really simple method! Let me show you how!

Great 👍 just to ask when you see darts in that are large do you make the bulk of them smaller so they don’t show as much on the finished garment ??

When there is a large dart root, I do sometimes cut out the dart down to seam allowance. I might also consider the design a bit too. I like a 2 dart bodice for larger bust and small waist. I think it looks more balanced. You can also turn it into a princess seam. The key is that if you need that space to come out of there, you take it out, but you can move it where ever you need to! 💚
