I wouldn't say its a parody. A parody would be something that makes fun of or points out the absurdities or weakpoints of the thing its parodying. I'd say its a loving homage or tribute to Observant Duty and the other games its referencing

Does anyone else share this opinion? So I love the GG's so much and watched them for years, but I find it hard to be able to keep track of their newer playthroughs/series since they use vague titles like "this game broke us", instead of how it used to be like "Kirby's Dreamland Adventure - Part 7," etc. I love the newer titles, they're really funny, but Is there anyway you guys could start adding the episode numbers to the titles as well? I end up missing episodes or sometimes entire series because of it.
TH-cam hates numbers in the titles, likely because many people would avoid TH-cam recommendations of series that they haven’t seen the earlier episodes of, so the game grumps have long removed them. Putting it into the thumbnail didn’t help because the same thing happened after a while, people would see “episode 3” and not click since they hadn’t seen episode 1, so TH-cam wouldn’t recommend the video. Blame the website and people, not the grumps

Outlast is a possibility, but I'm not so sure. The biggest thing I remember about the Outlast asylum is that it exists in advanced darkness, you can't see anything. Thank fuck someone accidentally dropped a package of AA batteries one by one across the whole facility though 🤣

Forest is based on Slender 4. Pizzeria is based on FNAF obviously 5. Paranormal House is based on Phasmophobia 6. Factory is based on Poppy Playtime now obviously. I was stuck on Factory and Paranormal House for ages before this episode. I just didn't expect Poppy to show up here. It's also weird to have the Backrooms in here instead of something like a Castle for Amnesia, or a Research Facility for SCP Containment Breach. But I mean there WAS a Backrooms game, so it still works, but eh.

I love this homage to the OG spooky jumpscare game. It even uses the drum ambiance. So eerie after all these years. I'm also enjoying the fact that perhaps not that the waveform goes all the way back down after the first anomaly. As some sort of detection sensitivity? Like you break the anomaly seal and the game starts

I absolutely agree with Arin's logic about the leaf on the camera, though I feel that that is probably a good psychological indicator of like, the way you perceive things and perhaps your neurotype. Do you perceive that as a problem with the camera or do you see it as the extra object of the leaf? It's a very inward-outward type of thing I think.
Arin became the poster child for rotating on his center pivot point when he got all giggly, silly, and slightly angrily bothered as a result of that wanted poster that was confusingly acting upon itself to rotate on its center pivot point presumably without being affected by a forest-y force.
Actually, I think the whole screen glitching makes it harder to find the anomaly. When a new anomaly appears, the movement or sudden appearance/disappearance is more likely to draw the eye. When the whole screen changes, I have to replay the same clip over and over, resting my eyes in different sections, to find the change.
I sometimes put game grumps sonic compilation in the background and hum some obnoxious song like "cotton eye joe" while playing these types of games and it really helps, i beat them on my second or third try
