I’m averaging about 19.4 around town and 21.5 going to work…. Freeway mostly…. The resale value is a value.. having owned a bunch of cars I have to say that the build quality and reliability is second to none with all my experience with a 4Runner…. Everything just works all the time .. my third one and each time the ownership was trouble free.. go anywhere you want when you want and sleep in the back.. 🎉
I agree this is a great vehicle that will last along time with the proper maintenance. I ordered a 23. Hope to get it before December 23 if all works out and no further factory delays. Planning on this vehicle being a 20 year vehicle I do most of my own maintenance so it should be an easy goal.

We traded in our 2021 Highlander platinum for a 2024 4Runner Limited. The Highlander definitely got better fuel economy. there is a cost to better fuel economy with that vehicle, which is a V6 that revved all over the place. Looking to save you fuel it was noisy and tiresome on long trips, and we take a lot of long trips. The 2021 Highlander is also just noisy from day one and got noisier as we drove it despite the fact that I replaced the tires with Michelins. We took a long trip with the 4Runner and got 21.5 MPG the V6 stays in the power band. It doesn’t rev all over the place hunting for 10 gears or whatever it was this vehicle is just more pleasant on road trips. If it’s going to be your daily driver, then you had better budget for gas. It’s also made in Japan and has insane resale value much better than the Highlander.
Agreed, I was thinking about getting a used TRD pro, however after doing research, I decided an trd off road premium is a much better buy for me, I found a used one that also happened to have the XP package. it looks just like a TRD pro and its almost equally capable off road, its just without the fox suspension and dual climate control, saved 15k and I get to choose how I want to upgrade the suspension/ what shocks to get.

Fuel bill isn't that bad. Regular Unleaded is $2.33 where I live. I put in about $20 a week. I live in a typical suburban area and I drive A LOT.

The 90s 4 runners were so dope.
I think a lot of the charm this new 4Runner has is because it captures the essence of the 90s 4runner very well
So dope you still see them every now and then that are literally clean and driving. Cant see alot of other 90s vehicles other than hondas

16mpg is the normal on old school proper trucks. What you pay in gas you save in fewer unscheduled repairs over the years.

The MPG of a 4Runner may look like poor planning if gas prices do what everyone says they will.
It does look the part for sure, I'd just get rid of the sidestep for a regular sidestep and have it in 4x4.
Facts regular side step would be nice and 4x4 is def the way to go it’s just proper with a 4Runner

Smart people would just buy a non X series and just add it for much cheaper price afterwards. You just ended up paying a premium for all those parts.
