Easy on my hair plus they don't pull your hair out and helps with retaining length

My hair breaks easily-I’ve been natural since 2013 with only one major haircut (last year) and my hair never grew to my shoulders in all that time. Since starting twisting this summer, my hair is touching my upper back. It works y’all. Not sure why but it does!

      Try twisting with ecostyler gel. I used to suffer from the.same issues until I started twisting with gel on the root and ends. I realized my ends hardly tangle and even when they do, its super.easy to detangle and my braids lasts up to two weeks b4 looking like dreads. Just try it

    Watching this video is very therapeutic. I have been uploading TH-cam videos since 2007 and I never really uploaded as much videos as I should have because to me, being a TH-camr fulltime would require you to have money to pay your bills and buy products for your content reaction. So instead of doing what I love (creating TH-cam videos), I am being being depressed over the fact that I am working other jobs to pay my bills. Thanks to you and other TH-camrs who don't let the lack of energy stop you from uploading consistently.

    I been doing braidout for years; maybe twists would be a gentler alternative. Apparently you know what you are doing. One question: which one would you find more effective to retain length and moisture: chunky twist or the more narrow ones?

    • @jeanettejbeauty6374
      @jeanettejbeauty6374  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I would agree twisting can be more gentle. I think smaller ones if you’re wanting them to stay “neater” and not frizz up at the roots so much. I find that I like how my smaller twist hold up a lot more than the bigger ones. But honestly, if you give your hair tlc, then leave it alone for a bit in one of these styles you’re GOOD 🙌🏽

    • @dnw75
      @dnw75 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was going to ask this same question. I usually do chunky twists and my roots stay fuzzy lol. I usually wear my wig though, so I haven't been worried about it. I want to wear my hair out more though, so I'll definitely be trying smaller twists when I wash my hair again.

      @@jeanettejbeauty6374 He gets his hair washed every two weeks with Cantu for kids following up with the leave in conditioner spray, and some oils. I find olive oil, coconut oil, and JA Castro oil work great together for him. Anytime I use them separately his hair sucks it right up. I usually braid or twist his hair keep it like that for 2 weeks and give him a week with his Afro out. When he wears his Afro out is when it dries the most. I have a spray bottle filled with water, a little leave in conditioner, and some oils I use on him and then I follow up with olive oil hair lotion. His hair is growing so long it’s mid back length so I know his hair isn’t too dry that it’s breaking off but it’s gets dry fast. I tried using Aloe Vera once a month on him but I felt like his hair was getting really stiff so I cut it out.

      @@KyraKennedyHughes ok, from personal experience the kids line dried my sons hair and I wouldn’t use it again for him and his hair’s a bit thicker than mine. I would suggest using creamy shampoos and thick deep conditioners for him and letting it sit in his hair for a bit. I do the same process on my children’s hair as mine and I find it helps a lot.

      What would you recommend for soft/thin hair? My last relaxer was on June 18, 2020 and I’m trying to grow my hair out. My hair has started getting thinker slowly but surely. I have lots of shedding and it’s been like this all my life. I starting wearing braids as a protective style since I’m not confident enough to walk the short bob when it’s blow dried. I only allow the braids to stay in 2 or 3 weeks at a time before I put them back in again. I allowed my hair to rest 3 days in between. Please Help!

    I didn't watch the video yet so I'm leaving my comment first. I'm no natural hair guru and my journey to natural hair is what it is. Since the pandemic I stopped putting heat on my hair in June 2020 so I really just started. My hair was a little shorter than shoulder length in March. I didn't do anything fancy and I don't like a lot of products so the only thing I made sure of was to get the same brand of stuff and all I got was shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner cream not liquid and some tea tree oil, olive oil, or Doo Grow oil for my scalp because it gets dry sometimes. Side note, I never wore wigs, sew ins, no protective styles, I do box braids maybe once a year and I don't go to salons either. I wore a moisturized BUN from May to the end of October. No other style. I washed my hair, pat dry, added some leave in conditioner and put it up that's it. I flat ironed my hair right before Thanksgiving and it grew 5 inches!!!!! Now it's right above the top of my bra strap (middle of my back ☺️). Simple and easy works for me. I made sure my hair was moist just like you would water plants daily or every few days. I never wore my hair completely dry. I wash my hair on Sundays and wet it again on Thursdays. My advice is do the minimum and stick with one brand you like. I use Cantu shampoo and conditioner👌🏽

    I noticed my twist last longer if I twist dry hair.....on wash day I deep condition,load with grease and a little setting lotion and put my hair in 12 big " Ms. Cecily Color Purple" braids ... 2 days later I do minis starting with a braid then twist, add rods on the ends for curls or leave it straight ( they'll naturally curl with moisture from the air)
    At night I use a scrunchie and put in a high ponytail and use a silk scarf around my edges.....this style last a month or more I just redo my edges once a week
    * the 1st time I twisted wet hair it looked like fuzzy rasta hair within a week
