    Looks like it would function really great in a multitude of tasks. I'm not a fan of the "swedge" on top though. It kinda reminds me of the Silent Hero, still have to get my hands on the latest one. Still loving my B.O.B. after all these years, hoping to see a larger version of the B.O.B. next blade show!

    A most Outstanding knife!
    I carried the OC for a couple of years in Tennessee as my edc. It’s very easy to carry in an iwb Scout style configuration.
    It handles like a knife half its weight and works like a knife twice its size.
    👍🏻👍🏻

    So I bought the Outpost Command and the Dawn Warrior recently (testing out a bunch of different knives trying to decide what to get as a gift for an army buddy, have got a bunch to try, so far have tested the glock field knife, cold steel srk, and esee 6p, all have impressed me), the dawn warrior is about what I expected and is definitely still in the running but when I pulled out the Outpost Command, WOW! Not at all what I was expecting, I'm sure it'll be plenty useful to me but it got knocked out of the race immediately when I realized it's 18oz by itself and 25.7oz with sheath, still a heck of a knife but I don't wanna torture my buddy with all that extra weight.
    I'll definitely be getting some more tops knives as well as others to test out though, but now I know a little better on what to look out for to avoid something really heavy
    As for the Outpost Command, it seems like it should be a really good chopper but I went to chop down some weeds and tried to stick it in a tree and was surprised that it didn't do near as well as I had expected, but I suspect this has something to do with the "non slip" finish that comes on it. Would it make a significant difference if I were to smooth out or remove the finish on the blade? I'm not really concerned with looks so much as I am functionality, and this knife should absolutely do well for heavy duty tasks, it feels great in the hand and to my surprise the sheath (which I expected to hate) is actually pretty good.
    I know a lot of people like to strip the finish off their esee and ontario rat knives, presumably to make them slide easier during use, but the finish on my esee 6p and ontario rat 7 are both smooth enough I'm not worried about it, but with the blade thickness and the bevel on the Outpost Command combined with the coarse finish it seems a bit more problematic imo. As this is my first experience with TOPS knives, I don't know how durable the finish is, will it start to wear and smooth out pretty quickly with use? Or would I be better off removing the finish on the bevel? I'm not talking down on it at all, I like the knives I got quite a bit, like I said I was just surprised with how hefty it was. I read the advertised weight on the listing but ignored it since that's almost always universally wrong across the board with any manufacturer, well in this case it actually was accurate! Lol

    Badass - I appreciate your posting this. The one really outstanding thing I use this for is chop-carving - it does it better than all the rest. I bought this as a fixed blade level up from the Cold Steel 4max. It fit that niche like nothing else out there. Also - the Esee 6 left me jonesing for HEFT - the OC delivered. Keep kicking ass, Craig!

      @@arctodussimus6198 Yeah, seems to me also, the handle shape was the thing that gets my attention, and with the blade shape + the finger choil = must be a great knife:-) FM

      We actually are phasing out our Nylon sheaths and moving to Leather and Kydex only. It will just take time with 250+ active models.

    Will I be able to send my Outpost Command in for new kydex at the custom shop ??
    OPC and the MSK2.5 are perfect together for my needs !

    • @TOPSKnivesofficial
      @TOPSKnivesofficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the TOPS Custom Shop will not be to send in knives to get customized. It will be knives Leo customizes for small runs. For example, the UTE that is coming out is a different steel, different handles, different sheath, and there will only be 17 in total.

    I heard him say it’s heavy only for the camp 🏕 sight not for backpacking 🎒. My TB1 is pacing up and down the hallway yelling, There’s no one like me! I’m the only one. I can do it all 😂🤣👏👍👌✌️🔪🇺🇸
