As a matter of fact a man should keep everything simple, not just his workouts

I was legitimately sitting at my computer with spread sheets for calorie counting, spent hundreds online on workout assist tools and weight scales and special calculated meals sent to your house. My results were slow and negligible. One day I said to myself, "You know what? Let's just go. Go, go, go."
Drove to my nearest 3 MMA / karate / boxing centers and dojos and spoke with the instructors. Took all of their one-time free courses and picked the one I melded with the best and signed up.
Boom, dropped from 240 to 215, went from pale to tan, and after 7 years of not being able to I can finally touch my toes!
Gentlemen : Listen to what he is telling you in this video. Simplify and ACT. Planning and being organized is always good but at the end of the day you have to get MOVING!

You seems a simple man but you address the main concerns of our lives: not confusing happiness with pleasure, appreciating efforts and cultivating modesty and low profile. Accepting difficulties and bad feeling and using this negative to make it a positive energy via a disciplined fighting sport routine. You understood the way which each of us has to follow. Don’t know you but you are a brother in saoul man. Keep showing the road via your video at your scale, too much people are unfortunately totally lost in our current world. 🤜🏻❤

When my kids were small I made my garage into a dojo with bags, jump ropes, tire and sledgehammer, battle ropes and all that stuff. Super easy to just walk out back and I could run back in the house if needed. Now they are in college so I go to a boxing gym 5 minutes away. I can make it there 4 or 5 times a week easy. It’s a fair point, the simpler it is to get after it the greater the chance you will.

I couldn't agree more, especially in the martial arts community today. With so many options, we tend to overtrain and oversubscribe to many different styles. We become hoarders of techniques. I started Muay Thai back in Southeast Asia, and back then, it was just a heavy bag and a pair of pads. We did a lot of fundamental drills, conditioning, and sparring. My instructor, Kru Koon, coached us to focus on mastering a handful of techniques to turn us into effective fighters. People need to remember that simple doesn't mean easy. The objective is to be effective in achieving the outcome we want.

This guy is hilarious with the running track just to fight better on the streets! But he's talking about something so essential which has taken me years to understand: simplifying EVERYTHING. Very well-rounded set of skills he has. Makes sense too if he's from Hawaii - I've met some incredible fighters from there; very strong mental/spiritual people but extremely good fighters too. Don't mess with people from Hawaii!

  • @michaelburkley4613

That's a good philosophy to have . Enjoyed seeing how you hit the heavy bag with ease. Years ago my downfall was procrastinating about every technique and sometimes I feared working out as well. You name it and I probably suffered it. I'm more relaxed today .I work out a little and I never try to show of any of my skills anymore the way that I used to. Mike in Denver😊

Brother, you are so correct. I practice Tang Soo Do and I'm guilty of sometimes waking up and trying to get into the complex movements and getting mad because I'm 52 and not able to do what I used to do. But you're right after buying these fitness books and looking at these ways to stretch differently. The fact is when I just work through my drills go through the exercise. I'm going to use that 10 minute philosophy. You have really turned my light bulb on. I've got to go back to the basics and keep it simple. Thank you brother. Appreciate it
