How do you reprogram your ecu ? Do u need to change Ecu before reprogramming? I have a CL7A, with stock k20a3 engine. I want to drop in k20a Tyre r engine using back my auto gearbox. Do you have to also mod your gearbox for higher power with better clutch plates?
Nobody answers to such questions which is why i got experience of my own. K24a4 block and K20A or aka type r head with DC5 oil pump,oil pan,baffle plate and oil chain. Cold air intake, skunk2 headers, 3" down piping. Transmission if rebuilt will last longer.I swapped once with stock K20A type r with Acura 5 speed auto transmission @8600 rpm 1-2 gear shift was at 64 mph and 2-3 gear was at 110 mph tq was bad, gear ratios were so high and A/t clutch slipped after 1 month. My advise is to build engine K24/K20 with good tq otherwise you will fry your trans.Another thing you need is trans cooler like mishimoto. As for RPM never do more than 7200 is max if you want trans to last rev cut should be at 7700 if you to squeeze out some performance and then do dyno tune. You will make 170-180 tq and 225 whp easily. This is the formula for K24/K20 head with auto and rev cut recipe with oil cooler nobody tells. And if you want to run Type r meter clusters in FD1 too you will be needing a dakota digital device to make em work without ecu change.
