I've just stuck 6 of these on my All In One brewing system so I can bypass the controller and reduce the power density compared to the integral element. Only done one brew so far, but it worked a treat! Pulled 1.8 kW on 240 VAC.
One note: I added a 105°C KSD9700 thermal cut out per pad, but they tripped during the boil and didn't reset until halfway through chilling due to the high hysteresis requiring

You can put those heater pads in series to reduce the power per pad. So two in series halves the power density, for example.

      That's good to know, cheers.

Could you use the same method for heating? Warm water bath with a pump to pump water through a coil to heat the beer?

Always to see all of your operations. How Do you generate all the power you need for the chillers?!

The silicon heat mat stuff is what they use on the bottom of the aluminium build plate on 3d printers for a heated bed. Usually 12v.

These pads are usually 12V, sometimes 24 …

Have you thought about using a solar water heater on the roof and the existing pipework for the fermenter cooling? Sould be sufficient to keep them arou 20 degrees even in winter?

      The roof would cave in.

I have two 12v 15w silicone heat pads on my homebrew size fermenter they work well but I'm only heating 30 liters 😜

Just wondering about the glycol level in the bath, the top coil is above the level. My chiller also is the same and I was about to add more to get above the top coil. Experts opinion required
