I don't think he got punched in the back in that scene. Sometimes when Bruce hits someone low it's not meant to be caught by the camera. And when you see his hand over his shoulder he's winding up to hit the next guy. As for Jackie Chan he's the one who comes flying in and puts his arms around Bruce.

Jackie is in another shot too. I think when he hits the guy with the staff and then drops it and picks up the two sticks. The guy he hit was Jackie and he hit him for real by accident.

Dude maybe your nunchucks were super light. Mine (I still have em) are steel rodded inside and walnuts wood, they weight 2/3 of pound. And if you had a set like that, the most training you would do would have been just shadow striking and whipping it back to clocked for the next strike, no speed and showing off or U would hurt yourself even practicing. I once fought 4 guys after school with it and they had chains and metal pipe, I hit 2 of them in the knee and they screamed so loud and fell so funny that them other 2 just ran away!😂 With nunchucks most ppl if not all only practice the moves which aren't striking moves. As long as you're not armed or rocking a very big machete or a samurai sword, I be more than confident taking on you bcoz 90% of my practice was striking hitting trees and hung tires... we lived in a tough neighborhood so I had to be ready until I was old enough to carry🤷‍♂

In the beginning exhibition fight, he gets Samo in an inverted double arm bar.
While Samo is folded upside down, Bruce has his one arm being pulled with his legs, and the other with his arms.
One arm bar is painful enough... but a double while folded? Jesus.

Bruce Lee says in movies he is not going for realism, but to sell a fight scene and make it look good on film. Real fights have people tripping and falling on each other and losing their balance. No one wants to see that.

I find it amazing that some movies hits the sell market at all .

Kinda silly observations of being unrealistic when we’re talking about a MOVIE. It’s theatrical, not meant to be real or people would actually have broken arms and loss of life. What he was good at was being as realistic as possible for a MOVIE. If you want reality, talk to Vic Morrow or Alec Baldwin and learn how it turned out.

    • @stigtuneback1966

@@stigtuneback1966 oh just being silly at that moment. Basically, some of these reactions talk about unrealistic a scene is, but they’re movies meant to be entertaining and exciting. Of course it wouldn’t be too realistic. Look at the Expendables for example. If you look at the old martial arts movies in China and Japan they were quite unrealistic. Blood spurting out like a hose with a nozzle at the end of it. Tarantino made fun of it in Kill Bill. What Bruce Lee did was to bring real champion fighters in his movies and tried making as real a fight as possible which I thought was great. Sometimes directors try to make something as real as possible and cross that line of safety/high risk scenes. The helicopter got too close or something and the propellers crashed down on Morrow and the 2 kids he was holding, and other examples like using real guns and rounds for the real effect. Praise what he brought to the screen and the evolution of martial arts and fight scenes with more realistic defensive and offensive moves. In reality from a lot I’ve read and through interviews, Lee was an exceptional street fighter even off screen. It wasn’t all just an act. Getting as real as possible in movies is fine but the actual real thing could either be not as dramatic, a little too quick or too long, boring or outright dangerous. MMA is real and exciting and not boring but probably wouldn’t work in movies. Anyway, hope that makes a little more sense😊
