Its a difficult balance, known as the pigment binder ratio...the more binder which provides sheen and adhesion (thats why grip priner doesn't cover lacks opacity) the less opacity and vice versa...the more pigment the less sheen, also the quicker it dries the more brushmarks. Totally agree I used the satinwood a few years ago in the end I mixed it with full gloss to get a better sheen level nice paint though

This is a finish paint. You could use it as a two coats system if you wanted
