The most unrealistic thing about this campaign: the 3 chosen working together without killing each other. Together they're so dangerous and a huge threat to the elders but their pride prevents them from realistically uniting against the elders.
False. The elders have complete domince and control over all the chosen. Let me explain. The first cut seen with all 3 chosen show how one of them were just demolished by an elder. With there being many elders, the chosen can not over throw them.
@@dtdumb that's because they get their power from the elders. What has been given can be taken away and all that. The chosen would have to find a way to retain their power or gain it from some other source than the elders.
@@ConnorLinley That's why the chosen are weaker than the elders. Also they cannot harvest PSI energy from any other source. This means that the elders are much more powerful than the chosen.

It is my little fan theory that the original plan from the elders was for the ultimate fighting machine to be the chosen being directed by the commander, who was sort of the 'fourth chosen' as tactical control. Basically what you were doing in this campaign was the ultimate war machine planned by the elders.
I think it would be cool if xcom 3 had the reveal that there was an even more dangerous alien threat, and all of humanity and the remaining advent forces have to work together. Like Chimera Squad.
Ah, the awkward moment when someone makes a clone of you for $1, you miss a shot against them, and they respond with two shots that send you to oblivion. 16:42
You should do, “can you beat xcom WoTC as the aliens” which basically if possible you can only play as the aliens like advent troops, mutons, etc and to spice it up a bit you should add the mocx mod which is basically evil xcom trying to stop you. Makes for an interesting video
There is a mod which adds playable aliens as an option for original Xcom 2 I'm not sure if it's been updated to work with Xcom2 + War of the Chosen though. Most of the aliens are playable because they're designed to be used in multiplayer (that I don't think I've ever seen anyone play).
The mod which adds aliens as playable does work on WotC, just to get them he’d have to complete council missions which reward alien units, or capture them from missions, unless he mods in his starting units to be aliens as well. Would be a fun playthrough, the Vipers are really cool units with having a frost breath attack.
@@luketfer I actually have in a video of what seemed two friends. I honestly am surprised not more people played it. It somewhat reminds me of custom Total War battles You can also see TB playing EU against AJ I believe.
That would be too easy though. All you have to do is throw grenades. The aliens have vastly more troops than Xcom, and even a single casualty is a huge setback for Xcom.

For crippling shot: It seems like the Berserker moving is an oversight. But it doesn't seem to be something like what you said. It's merely because the Berserker's attack is close quarters and like XCOM's swords. You can trigger the move remotely which will move your unit and strike. (Visible when playing Multiplayer or mind controlling a berserker.) My guess is that while crippling shot does disable movement. It doesn't disable movement used from attacks. Which is a massive oversight. But theoretically, should your units be hit by a crippling shot you could still use a ranger's sword/Templar gloves.
I think it's not quite that. I believe Crippling Shot gives a movement penalty (in fact it's an ability featured in another mod if I remember correctly), however, hitting a Berserker gives them a movement bonus. The two added up and it could move a little bit, but not a lot, hence why it went to the closest target.
Well, after the Only Psionics run, I think you're allowed to stomp ADVENT a time or two. Not everything has to be hard. Edit: Also, 53:17-53:32. This game has officially given Drifter PTSD from all the 90+% misses.

19:15 It's funny that you talk about solo runs, because I started a Doomslayer only run a few days ago, and I must say, despite hte fights being a cakewalk since the Doomslayer is able to easily dispose of pretty much anything you throw at him, and also because, he pulled off something incredible on a base assault mission. basically, a berserker made his way in the zone I had to defend, and he was left with 10 hp. The Doomslayer only had 1 action left out of 4 and the maximum damage that he could deal with his weapons was 8. Atthis point, I thought that my run was pretty muh over, and then i noticed that he had an 8% chance to crit with his shotgun. But even if he did rolled a crit, he would then have to roll max damage, or at least somewhere close to max damage, and you know how painful Xcom is with damage roll. But even those kind of odds can't stop the Doomslayer, because him being the absolute chad he is, he pulled this off, and saved my entire run. I can hardly describe how i felt when it happened, but i guess it was to be expected with the Doomslayer.
A suggestion for a run: "Squad Rotations." Basically, all your soldiers are assigned a squad, up to 6 per squad, even before upgrade. Your "starter" crew+2 are Alpha, some of your reserve become Beta, the next six Charlie, etc. I suggest giving them all the Nickname of the squad they're in plus a number for ease of reference. What this does mean is that it frees up, say, Alpha to go on covert ops while it's Beta and charlie's turn, but Alpha must have a team ready before it's their turn or else potentially go without a unit. The (Optional) exceptions are twofold, if you'd like: Hero Units or SPARKs, to fill your roster if you're down a member. I always thought it be super cool if the Commander could capture the Hunter instead of killing him. He is "falling" for his humanity, being a cocky bastard and all. Correction. Lost World is an incredibly dangerous dark event in the mobile version of the game. The app chugs and can even crash if you get more than 40 enemies on a mission. I had to reload a lost map 5 times to get through it on an Ironman.
It's so nice to see super soldiers that actually have an overwhelming advantage in everything but numbers. This is me coming off of Chaos Gate where the space marines have to fight strategically even against mere humans.
The thing is I believe the reason why the game considered them robotic units is due to the developers wanting save time with coding them, likely they copied a portion of the script for robotic units and just made adjustments from there so they are partially robotic units but also humanoid or organic units I guess, let's just call this kinda script augmented units for now but once they are in a way augmented with some kinda powers
my guess is their creation process is basically a spark recruitment and maybe only robotic units can do that, or it could be that it saves them having to make certain animations and prevent animation bugs, i know from other mods if miss certain animations on a organic unit it can break cutscenes and triggers like the fuel truck exploding in the reaper/skirmisher mission or grabbing the blacksite vial
Watching this video really makes you appreciate the fact that the Chosen never work together against you in the main game. Imagine trying to survive when 2 or even all 3 of them could show up to stop you on every mission.

(aka Chosen Warlock) Fatima "Tisiphone" Tariq: Egyptian Assault, Lieutenant rank, HP 7, Will 71, Aim 76. (aka Chosen Assasin) Also there was planned 4th chosen (by going with that logic it was supose to be Annette herself changed) with Robotic faction (it's not explained alot but they were probably ex MEC soliders)
@@TheDriftersBroadcast I think its part of cutting 4th chosen. You can see in chosen room when they talk to main Elder there is 4 ways to get to the center of the room. Not to mention both Elder and Warlock mention Chosen were humans before. With Warlock line especally "i can not belive i used to be creatures like you". To give more detail about it they wanted to have 4 factions in the game as i mention, but the robo one was too smilliar to grenerder class and it was buggy to make it work so they just cut it out. Also Warlock was supose to be weak to that mecha human class when 4th one was supose to be weak to Templars. Food for thought regarding the mind controlled codex and skulljacking. You can still make a really potent solution with that. Mind control it and then you gain control, clear the map and then evac the warlock. The mind control will break and you can skulljack the codex.
Realistically, I think the only Chosen that would ever actually help XCOM after being truly defeated by them would be Assassin. Warlock is too devout in his belief that the Elders are gods to turn on them. Hunter is too independent and psychotic to ever ally with... well anyone. The Assassin, however, states multiple times throughout the game through dialogue that they value honor in combat more than anything and even in their dying breath compliments XCOM and states that they hope we can manage to reclaim Earth. I'd think that it would be possible to turn her against the Elders by appealing to their honor. Being bested by a superior opponent and then spared.

This includes the following -Templars but they can only shoot -Sharpshooters but they cannot use their snipers -The Akimbo Class Mod being focused on Pistols -Shadowkeeper is allowed Win Conditions -All Chosen Killed -All Alien Rulers Killed -Complete the game Difficulty is up to you.
The reason your Mind Controlled Andromedon was immune to the Hunter's Stun Grenade is because the grenade applies the Dazed status effect, which can only affect Xcom units. Fun fact, enemy units CAN be knocked unconscious. It's extremely rare, since there are only a few abilities that can cause this and it requires a Mind Controlled unit.
And it can also soft lock the game because if the mission objective is to slay everything, XCOM cannot attack unconcious units with exception of explosives. There are mods that lets XCOM smack KO units to instantly kill them.
I love the voiced lines As-sassy-in is excellent don’t you dare get booed off stage for that one All of the chosen have a hidden ability called roastmaster
28:34 Take that back. Blast Padding is a really good ability (not as good as shredder but still great) because that single armor point increases a Grenadiers survivability.
In WOTC the final mission is technically two missions stitched together without replenishing charges or cooldowns, so mission based changing abilities change. Something to look out for on modded runs, since some classes have those types of abilities.
29:09 probably, since the Berserker is a beast and cannot take cover (see faceless and chryssalids too), just like robotic units, he also can't have his movement disabled(?)
This is such an interesting video using minded classes also I feel this wouldn't happen even if the chosen worked for xcom they would praovly try to kill each other first before the mission still wonderful Also when a chosen meet that same chosen: Spiderman meme
good video long time without seeing one of your videos I found this run extremely interesting using the chosen ones and there will be many possibilities of other runs how to go only snipers and the hunter or even the sorcerer with pure psionics or templars. psdt I'm using translator sorry.
If you're not ready for the Chosen to spawn on missions then they're powerful against you and the assassin is especially strong when you take stupid scanners instead of DOT grenades. Warlock is dangerous when you forget to take a mental shield. The fool-hunter generally seems broken. The worst missions with an assassin are collecting supply crates and defending a hideout where mobs of berserkers crush the population while the assassin stands and waits for you to approach her because her logic is broken due to revealing her location in the crowd of resistance and you are not yet within her visibility. This is a game for snipers and exploits, but you are taught in advance not to like snipers and therefore you go on a mission without them and especially suffer on Ironman when you do not watch for the appearance of the chosen ones on missions. 53:18 I love how X-com absolutely fucks with our reasoning. 99% might as well be 0% at crucial moments.
And then there are those shots that say 100% but were really 99.7% and your mind explodes.
Makes you wonder how they ever lost to Xcom with such powerful soldiers
Hope someone at Advent got fired for that
Ah yes, the Hunter, Warlock, Assassin
and then there's their pet human
Oooooooohhh! Now that sounds interesting! I haven't done much with mods yet, so this could be espacially tasty!
23:21 Darren DePaul always has such an amazing laugh
Drifter, my associates and I have come to you with a challenge.
Beat XCOM 2 War of the Chosen with Only Pistols. This includes the following
-Templars but they can only shoot
-Sharpshooters but they cannot use their snipers
-The Akimbo Class Mod being focused on Pistols
-Shadowkeeper is allowed
Win Conditions
-All Chosen Killed
-All Alien Rulers Killed
-Complete the game
Difficulty is up to you.
My best guess is that the Warlock's healing ability only works on humanoids, and that the Chosen are classified as non-humanoid aliens?
The reason your Mind Controlled Andromedon was immune to the Hunter's Stun Grenade is because the grenade applies the Dazed status effect, which can only affect Xcom units.
Fun fact, enemy units CAN be knocked unconscious. It's extremely rare, since there are only a few abilities that can cause this and it requires a Mind Controlled unit.
And it can also soft lock the game because if the mission objective is to slay everything, XCOM cannot attack unconcious units with exception of explosives. There are mods that lets XCOM smack KO units to instantly kill them.
Really cool run. You made me install xcom again
I DREAMED ABOUT THIS MOD FOR YEARS !!!!
great mod, great voice, one of the best hours in my life
Insane! Gonna blaze and watch this one. Had an interest in this mod myself, never tried though.
Another great video, this was really fun!
Thought you had stopped making content but nope youtube just keeps unsubbing me from channels ty for the entertainment!!!
I love the voiced lines
As-sassy-in is excellent don’t you dare get booed off stage for that one
All of the chosen have a hidden ability called roastmaster
28:34 Take that back. Blast Padding is a really good ability (not as good as shredder but still great) because that single armor point increases a Grenadiers survivability.
Nah, it sucks. :P
In WOTC the final mission is technically two missions stitched together without replenishing charges or cooldowns, so mission based changing abilities change. Something to look out for on modded runs, since some classes have those types of abilities.
25:52 good pun, don't feel sorry for it :D
now we just need a full advent pov campaign
The black screen you got when picking up the vial, also happens if you use one of the Resistance operatives that can join at the start of a mission.
I wish that you could do a "XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within, but I can only use alien units" type of challenge run.
"99% hmmm nope nope nope" xD Made my day love your videos
God I love these challenge runs.
Not sure if there's a mod for it, but X-Com 2 w/ only Aliens could be a new twist.
Oooh I was excited for this.
Hell to the yes, notifications are king :D
"Return fire is a horrible ability"
You're allowed to be wrong....
It sucks. :P
Amazing work like always, and you should def do playable alien rulers
weirdly the black screen with the blacksite vial also triggers if you use a bonus soldier from the reaper cards, even if hes just a regular soldier.
can't wait trying this mod with lwotc
This feels like a D2 Fireteam there's even a Hunter and a Warlock
shame the Assassin isn't a Titan however
babe wake up, new drifter's broadcast
29:09 probably, since the Berserker is a beast and cannot take cover (see faceless and chryssalids too), just like robotic units, he also can't have his movement disabled(?)
by the way, im pretty sure its because melee attacks move the person using the attack, so the beserker was only attacking, not moving
We fight the entire game to keep them away from the avenger and now suddenly they're casually strolling through the entire thing
Another great video.
It was very fun.
This is such an interesting video using minded classes also I feel this wouldn't happen even if the chosen worked for xcom they would praovly try to kill each other first before the mission still wonderful
Also when a chosen meet that same chosen: Spiderman meme
the ufo defense mission gave us T H E M E N U T H I N G but in choosen form!!
Now I need to redownload and play this.
This was very interesting. Another great run
New rules screen is pretty cool.
Play as rulers?
I've had that issue with the network tower as well. Except I had the hive mod so it was the giant 150+ hp hive queen
Your Shen x Hunter Theory is my new canon. I don't care if its a mod.
20:55
Lol
That thing is scarier than missing a 100% shot
0/10 cannon fodder isn’t wearing a red shirt
(jokes aside, I’ve been enjoying the series a lot!)
I have been waiting for this
good video long time without seeing one of your videos I found this run extremely interesting using the chosen ones and there will be many possibilities of other runs how to go only snipers and the hunter or even the sorcerer with pure psionics or templars. psdt I'm using translator sorry.
Maybe the implication is that pre-sarcophagus destruction these are robotic versions of the chosen?
That's exactly what I do, I don't like counting cards and that's why I don't play poker.))
21:36 - almost choked on chips from laughter, third wheel, lol.
