It's the General prayer for food. It's called the Hamotzi, or the Motzi for short (Ha means The in Hebrew) It's the bread prayer. Blessed are you, Lord our God, ruler of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth. There's a prayer for fruit, meats, dairy etc. But if you're having a whole meal the Motzi is all encompassing bc honestly nobody has time to bless each part of the food because otherwise it will get cold.

The moment that Matty shares he grew up Mormon and that man’s face instantly changed made my heart burst. In one moment you could tell he finally was having a conversation where someone could understand his life and his struggles. It was really a heartfelt moment and just made this episode so much more meaningful than just a guy eating some food.

I grew up in Utah and was forced to practice Mormonism until I graduated high school. I feel this episode on a spiritual level. I never knew Matty grew up Mormon too! :O Also, Rabbi Bernath is such a cool guy. I'm very cautious when I meet religious people but I would love to be his friend. He isn't all judgmental or pushy and doesn't try to guilt you into following his religion. I've only known about Hassidics in books or TH-cam videos in NYC where you see them walking around. This has made me excited to try more Jewish food when I go to Montreal next.
