    Implementing the lessons I learned from this channel changed my life trajectory and learning that there’s a yin and yang in everything. I wouldn’t have appreciated the power of kindness if someone was not cruel to me; I wouldn’t have realized the importance of growth if I didn’t see myself stagnating; I wouldn’t have appreciated the importance of health if I didn’t get sick; lastly, I wouldn’t have appreciated the growth of my TH-cam channel about self development if I didn’t start from 0.

    I believe, from the explanation, that yin and yang are both everything and also themselves. You cannot have a plan without a goal and also the is no goal without the plan. As such they are both one and the same. As is everything in this universe.
    Eliminate duality from your mind and understand that we are all as one with the universe.

      But only by seeing and studying the duality can one know what the 1 is. Only by having its opposite does the one exist, without the two there is no one... By thinking of everything as one and trying to eliminate duality, one is giving up gaining a deeper understanding and experience of the one.

    The goal is as the Thunder that creates the initial movement. Thunder is masculine, therefore yang.
    The plan is as the Fire that illuminates the path. Fire is feminine, therefore yin.
    Also, as a project leader at work, I have discovered the daoist concept of doing by not doing. That is, planning, which is yin, because it is not actively doing the work. However, a plan, is somehow like a vacuum (also yin). The more clear your plan is laid out (the more yin), the greater the power of the vacuum that draws in the action (yang) to fill that space.
    The goal being the initial creative force (hexagram 1) and the plan being the yin response to that pure yang energy. And then, the implementation being a yang response to that yin plan, followed by a period of rest after project completion (the yin filling the space occupied by the yang activity that implemented the plan). Oscillating back and forth, and moving from one hexagram to the next in a seemingly unpredictable pattern.

    • @goblinsdammit
      @goblinsdammit ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fire is feminine? That's new to me.

    • @mindfulmomentswithColm
      @mindfulmomentswithColm ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@goblinsdammit Fire and Yin: Fire is commonly associated with the yin or feminine energy because it shares similar characteristics. Fire is warm, nurturing, and provides a sense of comfort. It is often seen as a source of illumination and a symbol of warmth and passion.
      While fire may be predominantly associated with yang energy due to its qualities of brightness, expansion, and warmth, it is not uncommon to find interpretations that include fire as having aspects of yin energy as well. Yin and yang are not necessarily rigid categories, but rather dynamic forces that interact and influence each other.
      In some belief systems, fire can be seen as embodying both yang qualities like heat and light, and yin qualities like nurturing, transformation, and the ability to create a sense of intimacy. These interpretations highlight the multifaceted nature of fire and acknowledge its potential to exhibit characteristics associated with both yin and yang energies.
      Balance and Harmony: In the context of yin and yang, balance and harmony are achieved by integrating both feminine and masculine energies. The interplay between yin and yang allows for complementary energies to exist and create equilibrium. It is important to note that these associations are symbolic and not meant to be restrictive or limiting.
      In the context of the OP, a plan could be seen as yin relative to certain actions, yet yang relative to doing completely nothing and just thinking/feeling. When planning combines with the goal in mind, then it has found balance. Otherwise it chases its tail

    Goal has gotta be Yang. It's bright (hopeful) and round (hard to grasp). Plus goals are usually moving up in a direction, and moving and energy is yang. The plan to get there is Yin because it is calculated (cold) and usually broken up into small bits. Plus plans usually have to conform, like a square, or they generally don't go anywhere.
    I like that neither Yin nor Yang is good or bad, although Yang usually get's the better part attention from my glimpses into chinese pop-culture through translation.

    Thank you for this wonderful explication. I'm curious about one thing. Should the goal be finding balance in one's own self as both yin and yang? Or should we aim for finding a person/situation/job which completes the lacking part in us (let's say if you're more yang you find a partner who's more yin)?
    Also curious, as you start gluing these little yin and yang pieces together you always end up with a bigger yin or bigger yang. Where does it end if ever it ends?

    The plan as a concept, an idea, a theory is Yin. The plan in action, i.e. The process, is Yang. The goal as the driving force behind the plan, the reason for the plan to exist, is Yang. The goal as an unrealised idea or concept, a dormant and as yet unreached destination, is Yin. There are both Ying and Yang in everything.

    Well, both the goal and the plan are themselves composed of these opposing and unified elements of Yin and Yang, no? Breaking the goal and the plan into two separate elements, must therefore break the goal into both a Yin and Tang, as well as the plan into a Yin and Yang. This reminds me of Hegel's dialectic as it was explained by Joseph Stalin in his pamphlet "Dialectical Materialism," a concept that I am reasonably familiar with: each thesis has an antithesis, and the result becomes a synthesis, which itself creates a thesis and an antithesis, having been unified into a synthesis with naturally opposed parts.
    So, that being said, it can also possible be said that each aspect of Yin contains within itself aspects of Yang, and vice versa; so it can be said that the goal and the plan, which must contain elements of both Yin and Yang, may still themselves contain elements which are more easily identified as Yin or Yang. This is worth considering. So, it might be said that a "plan" lends itself more to Yin qualities: a "plan" is itself static, like a map; it is a condensed version of reality, so can be said to be short; a plan may be altered, so it can said to be contracting. However, by the same token, a plan can change or move; a plan is like a square because it has defined edges and endpoints; in this way, it contains within itself the nature of Yang; a plan can be given an addition - thus is can be expanded. By contrast, the goal may be said to lend itself more to the Yang qualities: a goal is often bigger than reality itself; a goal often moves; a goal is like a round circle, without defined endpoints; each of these aspects also begets the nature of Yin however: a goal can stay the same and become static; a goal can becomes rigid with well-defined endpoints, etc. One of the three truths is that the universe is in constant motion; therefore, whether the goal or the plan in a given moment lends itself more to the qualities of Yin or Yang, those characteristics are likely to change, given the fact that they can only said to be qualities in relation to each other in the first place.
    The best and most concise answer is: both a goal and a plan cannot exist without each other, and therefore exhibit the qualities of Yin and Yang with relation to each other; breaking the concepts down individually likewise reveals that both concepts, in order to be meaningfully defined at a moment in time, exhibit both the qualities of Yin and Yang simultaneously.

    Hello everyone, I'm Chinese and I have to confess about my birthmark... Well you see, my birthmark is similar to Yin and Yang like the Yin birthmark is on my right shoulders and little high, and Yang birthmark is on my left shoulders and it looked short than left one. These colours are darken green and the Yin one looked more light. So since Yin is in left and Yang is right and mine is switched and I'm little curious and sad

      Thanks. What is Yin yang??? Is this the description of DUALITY ??? DUALITY IS JUST IS ??? In Christianity , the only
      "JUST IS " is God. Like
      whatever you want to describe GOD.
      However , does this yin yang occur also in the higher level of who we are ? where we exist as one mind , or only here in the 3d matrix ,,??

      To put it in simple terms yin= feminine and yang= masculine and it is the same in in every religious texts. Men are the good one's and women are the evil one's it's as simple as that.

    In order to achieve a goal you must have a plan...the sun shines light on the earth and the moon, and the moon shines that light back to the earth, which pulls the moon with it... your goal has to be understood before you can form a plan,...some believe that the moon helped in the Earth's creation...so...if you are the center, the sun...the moon would be the plan and the earth would be the gaol. You are the yin, the goal is the yang, and the plan is that fine line that divides the two.

      The trouble with my mind is that yin yang is presented as two, but there is a line that divides the two, no matter how thin you make the line there will be a space where change occurs.
