Kate Jackson was Number one. Stunningly beautiful, that sexy voice and an amazing actress. She also co-created Charlie's Angels and was the one irreplaceable Angel. It went downhill when she left. We love you Kate :-)

Jaclyn Smith’s take on Tanya Roberts was hilarious. She cut her eyes away from the camera and says “….she brought an earthy quality to the show..” In other words….”She was trash. Trash!”. LOL.

I love this show from the time I was 12 years old to the when I was 17 years old. From Junior high school to high school . I never miss an episode. I like all of them. Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson was my favorite.
I was always Farrah. We had things in common so it makes sense i was so into her. I just didn't know why i was so drawn to her. I still am. The only other celebrity i really liked was Beth Chapman. I cried when she passed so young. 😢
what a great docu. it really covers everything behind the scenes. you really grasp how hard it is to do hit TV shows. how hard they have to work. The politics & personality clashes. Its all joyous on the surface but you sense the misery that existed behind the scenes even when it was a smash hit. Farrah never did find anything bigger or better. But is still the most remembered Angel even with just one season. Kate seems problematic. Jacelyn & Cheryl seem sweet & have kept their beauty the longest.
Kate is still gorgeous. Women like Kate pushed through the barriers and became strong working women. It's ridiculous that she was labeled as being "problematic" for wanting the best out of a project. I suppose she should have just nodded her head and went along with whatever like a nice girl. She did change the whole original concept for CA. It was going to be "Ally Cats" and involve 3 women in leather fighting crime. Kate talked them out of leather, renamed them angels and had the idea for Charlie to communicate with them via phone. Honestly, with her having so much to do with the concept I don't know why she wasn't given creative credit. BS. I think all surviving "Angels" owe her a debt of gratitude. If she hadn't had the name changed from "Ally Cats" they would have had to do a lot more shampoo commercial and would never have hit it big.

I really love hearing Cheryl stand up for Shelley. Her initial introduction to the fans was handled horribly. Even the montage clips of her in the opening credits were bad. It seemed like Kate was being such a pain they finally let her go, but had no Plan B. I'm not even sure Shelley had a stunt double those first few episodes. The one where she's knocked out by the butt of a rifle was definitely her falling into that water. Not only that, but producers were also feeding the Enquirer stories "Hack Can't Hack it. Producers Want to Fire Her." how they wanted to fire her by the 3rd week on the air. Which means they were sabotaging her from day one.

Previosly they expected their stars to look and act like movie stars even when stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Crawford played roles being regular people ,they looked like movie stars but that changed in the beginning of the 70s when glamour was trimmed down for reality with movies like Klute. Love Story, Alice doesnt live here anymore etc. Only stars like Diana Ross and Cher were really glamorous for the 70s but Charlies Angels brought glamour back to television and Hollywood .

I'm a fan of all the Angels. I think Cheryl Ladd, Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Shelley Hack, Tanya Roberts, Jaclyn Smith and David Doyle were all great on the show. Though my favorite trio is Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson.
My crush- Jaclyn Smith, then Farrah, then Kate… but in my opinion the most gorgeous woman of that time was Linda Carter… although there were other beauties.
I was in highschool when this show premiered. By the end of the 1st season, girls in school were all mimicking the Farrah do. You couldn't turn a corner without seeing Farrah hair or some attempt at it...
To be fair, I love Farrah but we would have never heard of her if it weren't for Charlie's Angels. All of these women owe their careers to this show. Kate Jackson on the other hand, while also becoming huge with Angels, was already an experienced actress who people knew from The Rookies. She got the most fan mail and would have had a great career anyway. A different career without the whole Charlie's Angels craze. But she would have made her mark as an actress. The others depended on their CA role to even become famous.
Farrah thought she should capitalize on her fame and become a movie star. She was bored with the role of Jill. She hated saying stuff about being late because she was in the bathtub thinking. Fawcett just wanted it all. ❤ I can't blame her but i wished she'd stayed at least one more season.
Sorry, these dudes are wrong. Shelly Hack was fantastic and brought a touch of sophistication and class. As an 8year old gay boy, the 4th season was and is my favorite.
Lee Majors was an Old-school Southern Man & Farrah was no longer "Mrs. Lee Majors " divorce was eventual. I wish Farrah stayed a little longer ( at least 2 seasons) like Suzanne Somers did with Three's Company
What people don't realize about american tv compared to british tv is ... British tv = 6 episodes per seasons, American TV = 24 episodes christmas specials world wide promotions photo shoots so on.......
Her manager was why Farrah quit. I think he thought she would become a big film star & make him far more money. plus she wouldnt be tied up with long hours so could do other money spinning commercial deals. But that never worked out. I think she was blacklisted by Aaron & the big film studios wouldnt touch her. This was very common in the history of Hollywood when starlets wouldnt play ball. The big roles dried up fast. He really messed up taking on the bigwigs.

tbf, look at the other top shows that also slipped in the ratings. (1:10:14) that's the nature of the vast majority of tv shows. And it was a fluffy light entertainment show that momentarily caught a wave of interest, but because it was little more than that, public interest moved on to the next Big New Thing. I loved it as a pre-teen, but I was never going to maintain that viewing habit. But the important legacy it left was that female leads in an action show could attract a big audience. And as much as I loved it as an 8 year old, I'm glad they moved on from female leads having to be impossibly beautiful and dressed in bikinis every other episode.
She is the same in everything she's done. Acting means pretending to be someone different. Kate was the best actress. Farrah became really good too. Love Jaclyn but she's not really an actress per sa.
I didn't like the movie. One of the angels saw Charlie. I think Drew had an influence? If she did, it wasn't good. Just let it rest with the original actresses. Maybe Cheryl.

To be fair, I love Farrah but we would have never heard of her if it weren't for Charlie's Angels. All of these women owe their careers to this show. Kate Jackson on the other hand, while also becoming huge with Angels, was already an experienced actress who people knew from The Rookies. She got the most fan mail and would have had a great career anyway. A different career without the whole Charlie's Angels craze. But she would have made her mark as an actress. The others depended on their CA role to even become famous.

Her manager was why Farrah quit. I think he thought she would become a big film star & make him far more money. plus she wouldnt be tied up with long hours so could do other money spinning commercial deals. But that never worked out. I think she was blacklisted by Aaron & the big film studios wouldnt touch her. This was very common in the history of Hollywood when starlets wouldnt play ball. The big roles dried up fast. He really messed up taking on the bigwigs.

tbf, look at the other top shows that also slipped in the ratings. (1:10:14) that's the nature of the vast majority of tv shows. And it was a fluffy light entertainment show that momentarily caught a wave of interest, but because it was little more than that, public interest moved on to the next Big New Thing. I loved it as a pre-teen, but I was never going to maintain that viewing habit. But the important legacy it left was that female leads in an action show could attract a big audience. And as much as I loved it as an 8 year old, I'm glad they moved on from female leads having to be impossibly beautiful and dressed in bikinis every other episode.
Let's face it Jackie wasn't a good actress. I hate every movie she's in, but I still love her, lol
