Thank you Sanja for your amazing videos on HR ! Its been very helpful especially from a young graduate in HR like me 😄 And also thank you for Betty for your insights as well !
As a HR professional with around 5 years of experience only in HRBP roles, I've often wondered if I should explore HR Consulting as well. Thank you Sanja, this was extremely helpful! A quick question- Is HRBP experience still considered relevant while interviewing for HR Consultant roles?
Hi Kava, yes it is indeed possible. You can move into a consulting role easily. I managed to secure a role with Capgemini Invent as a Senior Consultant but declined as I got another better in house/in industry HR consultant role.
For consulting you will most likely be contracted / employed to do something their internal team cannot do or have no resources. If you are general HRBP it might be challenging. If you have certain specific skills in demand eg great data analysis, reporting , tool implementation, design skills, training skills etc, then it’s easier. Some of HR consulting project might be - implement new reporting tool, performance management software, improve visual career pathing with interactive tools, conduct audit of salaries in line with industry using percentile, help with writing role definitions or ( on high level) help restructure HR team.
@@olivka7560 Just to add to Olivia's points, I note that many HR structures are changing where organisations do not have aligned or allocated HRBPs to a department or portfolio, they have a team of HR professionals who work on projects/work packages that have a specific scope, remit and duration as agreed with those departments. Some examples would be re structures, team building, leadership capability, organisation design, strategic workforce planning, people strategy, establish competency centres, support bids and programs etc Similar to what HR/People Consultants do who work for example for KPGM, pwc, Accenture. I will create a video about it in due course. I work in a role like this now, although in industry.

Hi Vijays. You have listed a lot of technical roles. I would suggest anything that has to do with SAP, Oracle, Workday systems etc cloud computing is a good option.
