To some, the words 'cabriolet' and 'supercar' don't sit too easily together. Throw in the words 'V6' and 'hybrid' and you have a mix that might make some petrolheads recoil in horror. But if any brand might make all of that work together, it's Ferrari. This is the 296 GTS: the open top version of the staggering 296 GTB. Yes, it has a V6 engine, and yes, it is a plug-in hybrid, but when there's 819bhp on offer, then it's hard to see how it can fail. So has Ferrari created a technical masterpiece? And more importantly, has it created a desirable and exciting supercar? Alex Ingram finds out.

So Ferrari once again build the absolute super car which will be super desirable! The GTS is definitely the one! That colour combination is also fabulous!

@@TSERJI it was sold as a Ferrari. Vehicle registration and Insurance docs said it was a Ferrari. Loan docs called it a Ferrari and no one in Maranello called the Whitehouse to complain that US import docs called it a Ferrari. So it was a Ferrari regardless of the nonsense that half wit journalists tried to claim.

    • @TSERJI

@@jim99west46 It wasn't branded & sold as a Ferrari, in the same way Genesis' aren't sold as Hyundai's. Or Lexuses sold as Toyota's. Or Lamborghinis sold as Audis. It was simply Ferrari's sub-brand. It wasn't part of the main Ferrari lineup.
Even if it used Ferrari parts, Ferrari engineering know-how, Ferrari maintenance/service, & had profits from its sales going up to the Ferrari shareholders, it's not officially a Ferrari & never really was described as one by the company.

Performance aside (no questioning that), whilst it does sound okish, and it may be described as "real" - the turbo's and PPF dilute it so much that to hear it at all the sound has to be pumped into the cabin from the engine bay. Hhhmmm, mini V12? Well its got half the cylinder count but thats about it lol. Ferrari BS I'm afraid!
