    Jordan Peterson is like an anti-autist. He takes everything metaphorically or allegorically when he’s asked a very straight up literal question.

      Been seeing people pop off with their comments recently. One I saw for DrDisrespect:
      Makes total sense why Dr Disrespect would move to Rumble from TH-cam. TH-cam’s over 18 years old now while Rumble is still a minor

      It’s interesting though. You can say no to the question of “Does anything exist?” and give out this and that reason, but if you give out the same reasoning to the question of “Do dinosaurs exist?” you are missing the point, even though “anything” encompasses dinosaurs. I’m not saying we should oppose this human behavior, but you gotta admit its strangeness.

      @@ismailtaskran9740 it’s a stupid cop out. It’s the kind of argument the uneducated trash or stoners give. A normal person who acknowledges they know nothing recognise that as a limitation or a failing…something that stops them spewing BS. But to these idiots, they lean on that, they don’t recognise it as a failing of theirs. These idiots don’t believe there is anything wrong with them. They’ll use that lack of knowledge as a justification that anything can be true. It’s no wonder this moron got shunned out of academia

    Ironically I became a lefty due to the R/atheism sphere. I was a staunch Florida conservative, was also against abortion until i had to experience the material hardships of expecting a child and not being able to afford it. I took the r/atheism to leftism pipeline and i finally realized all of my problems are because of capitalism and the many ways it exploited my hard labor when I used to think meritocracy would deliver for me. It didn’t. And it hasn’t. No amount of hard labor in construction or in manufacturing has solved my problems

    The issue is what people do rather thand their beliefs. HOWEVER, beliefs inform actions. There are plenty of people who use their religion to justify doing good things. I recognize that these people have adopted a very modern view of thrir religion that just doesn't exist in the original text. I find far more often that religion makes people worse. If someone is bad because they are wrong, you can fix the bad by correcting them and convincing them, but when it comes to religion, there isn't anything you can do to convince them because that piece of information that may be destructive like homosexuality being a sin,women being lesser and abortion being murder, is core to their identity. This is why religion really is a scourge that has few uses outside of social control for the worse.

  • @rujon288
    @rujon288 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    live and let live is a crazy take on religion considering it's prevalence as a justification of war and violence in the current political space. Not saying that they are religious wars by any extent but even the fact that religion is being used as moral justification for these things should raise alarms on it's usefulness as a tool for social cohesion.

    How is Christianity less hostile to women and gays?? How? I would understand if they said both are hostile, in fact, in the Quran a lot of these verses are very very similar to what's in the bible, having read both, I know that for a fact. Why is it only Islam that's bad?

    • @Icedcoffee03
      @Icedcoffee03 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@Joshua_Knowles_ I never said Islam is less bad. They're both religious ideologies, they're both bad to me. It's ridiculous to say "look at the country with the highest Muslim population" since it's not the population that determines the treatment of people, it's the foundational base of the society that shapes how people are able to think and act. I was saying that if you were to make a country centered around Christianity, that country would mistreat women as much as some countries that is centered around Islam. Just look at history for this evidence, the Christian countries in the middle ages were centered around the Christian religion and women were treated horrible then. Women were seen as property and as a servant to men, women were abused by men and it was seen as holy punishment, murdered by stoning or hanging for being accused witches or vampires, women did not have a voice in those Christian countries. The only reason why a country like the US has developed better treatment of women over time than some countries is because the secular founding of this country undermines religions like Christianity to shape our thinking and laws.

    Loved Religion until i realiesd its false hope and humanity is doomed. The world is not doomed because some says it but its logical that komplex live is not sustainabel.

      @brookkassa8479 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      im not religious but by doomed do you just mean we will die? I don't think a life that ends in death is "doomed" or somehow not worth living.

    • @Respectable_Username
      @Respectable_Username 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean, the scientific reality is _not_ that complex life is unsustainable. In fact, there is a bias towards order in the chaos of the universe as it only takes a seed of order to bias the arrangement of stuff to mirror that order. See crystal formation as an example.
      Right now, humans on the whole are out of balance with the planet. But up until about 200 years ago, humanity on the whole was pretty balanced with nature. And there's plenty of humans pushing for a return to sustainability in the current era too! Capitalism is the anomaly here, not humanity, not complexity.
