I met Jimmy Hart while he was doing promotion for Wrestlicious at a local car dealership. If nothing else, I left that encounter thinking Jimmy really is the perfect wrestling manager/hype man. He gave off such sincerity and passion for Wrestlicious you'd think it was Wrestlemania.

Jonathan Vargas, age 19, won the Powerball jackpot in 2008. It totaled a massive $35.3 million. With the money, he and some partners created “Wrestlicious”, an all-female wrestling promotion. Seems the world wasn’t ready. The endeavor fizzled within a year. Other bad investments followed. Other big losses followed. He is now broke.

I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed Rumble Roses. I was 16 and legit only got it cause of the cover.
I thought the whole 19 year old kid who won the lottery and then used some of the money to run his own mini all womens wrestling promotion was a joke, or just part of the story line for this "Wrestlicious" company. But then i used google, and realized it was actually true.. SAD.
Instead of making a promotion to satisfy my fetishes I would try to make a small independent promotion similar to ring of honor back in the early 2000s

I honestly question how self aware Wrestlicious was. It strikes me as the type of thing Jimmy Hart would revel in. There were a lot of talented women in that promotion, and some of them never even got into the ring. That's probably for the best.

That's what I thought! That glasses joke was pure Hee-Haw! They may as well have been standing in a fake corn field when they said it!
After thinking about it, Wrestlicious could have worked if Vargas actually took women's wrestling and the business in general seriously and didn't treat it like a wet dream of a hormonal teenager. The campiness could have been better written and focused, developed better gimmicks, etc, Wrestlicious could have been the female equivalent of Chikara, PWG, or even Lucha Underground, instead of the embarrassing live action Rumble Roses that it was. Hell, Vargas managed to acquire legit talent like Daffney, Amber O'Neal, Leva Bates, and Serena Deeb so it seemed that he actually had indy wrestling interest. I believe that Vargas should have sought out experienced promoters and trainers like Mike Quackenbush, Joey Ryan, to name a few, and his promotion would have been great. Its a shame though that hes broke, Vargas seemed to be a good kid I really feel bad for him, but I give him props to doing something that he wanted to achieve no matter how bad it was.
So I gotta ask you Brian Zane, if Vargas respected the business and wanted to create a legitimate wrestling company, would you help him?
I kinda liked what little I saw (bare in mind I havent sat down and watched them ala WSX full on) but I kinda saw what he was going for in the campy fun of GLOW and you cant really blame him for that one. Nothing wrong with having some silly fun in world with TNA, WWE, ROH, and NJPW and such
WSX had its issues, but it was cool to see a wrestling show that shared talent from all sorts of promotions.

Actually heard the name before but never knew anything about it. I love how this guy wins the lottery and immediately wants his own womans' promotion. To top it off then he gets Jimmy Hart, Brian Knobbs and some established Indy wrestlers. Those skits did seem like the worst ever though.

So in other words it's exactly what you'd imagine if someone told you a teenage boy won the lottery and started a women's wrestling outfit.
The rap number was my breaking point. When I saw Supergirl I was done.
Usually, I'm the "face" when I comment on a Brian Zane video ..... today I feel my inner Uso coming through - So here goes.
First off, Sports Night was a good show that got Vince Russo'd by ABC, and then completely dumped on the worst possible time slots.
Secondly, you say that Wrestlicious was worse than WOW (and I say .... NO, NO, OH HELL NO). The fact was Wrestlicious never took itself to be serious wrestling. The shows did feature the talent in a lot of eye-candy vignettes mixed with a little in-ring action, but that was the point. It was wrestling for those who wanted to enjoy something in the privacy of their own bathroom. Women of Wrestling was all-around garbage that took itself seriously and failed. Bad vignettes, bad wrestling, bad characters, and all filmed at Staples - a complete super fail.
And finally and I am shocked that Brian didn't mention this .... did you know that the three highest paid members of the Wrestlicious crew ... were the three men associated with the show. And it is still better than anything produced by Vince Russo during the "bra and panty" era of the WWE/F.

Fun Fact: Jimmy Hart and Jonathan Vargas tried to start a womens wrestling promotion before called CRUSH. They filmed a pilot episode but it didn’t get picked up. It did have several of Wrestlicious characters played by different women.

I get the feeling the site was changed to that in the last few months because they had still been using pictures of the 'talent' until very recently. Maybe one or more of the girls or Jimmy Hart himself asked if they could be removed from the site... or maybe it was 'JV Rich'? Either way, I doubt there's any chance of there being more of this monstrosity.

Jimmy Hart reminds me of the most sleaziest used cars salesman but ive heard he’s actually a very nice person
So I just found out today that before Wrestlicious Jimmy Hart was working at a different women’s wrestling promotion. It was called the Naked Women’s Wrestling League. I don’t know how the Mouth of the South finds his way into these things but at least he keeps his clothes on. The episode I watched had Jimmy telling “The Commissioner” (yes even they had an authority figure angle) that he just brought in April Hunter (which resume wise was a perfect fit). Also Carmen Electra hosts the show for some reason. Now I’m going to assume after NWWL, Jimmy had an idea to take what he seen there and add slightly more clothing, less wrestling believe it or not and more mind numbing skits and just needed a money mark to get it off the ground and the Hulkster didn’t have his “Gawker/I’m a racist but who cares I got nine figures” money to start this wonderful idea and cut Jimmy some paychecks.
So Brian, you’re gonna need every T-shirt design under the sun so you can censor all the naughty bits and review that thing. Or perhaps one day Big Hoss McGraw gets too much of his “pilly gimmick” and kidnaps 14 year old Brian and says to him “I heard you like nudity in your wrestling so here’s all the nudity!”

You know, I watched the recent WOW stuff, and while its not mindblowing, its still fun, and it has Santana Garret. Even looking back ath old WOW there's a sense of fun and sincerity, with real storylines and feuds that could be fun. And Caged Heat was the bomb.
