His main figure to follow is his father, the "most powerful being on that planet" and it is assumed that because they are of the "same race", Mark should be very similar. He really needs to figure out his own motivation for being a hero (as Eve is doing) by removing his father from the equation before he finds out how bastard Nolan is. Viltrumites gets stronger the older they get. Mark is only 17 whereas all the adult viltrumites are over 1000 years old which is why they're so strong compared to mark.
@@jmv2139 eh not really, I expected him to fight another one of his kind but now I know he’s gonna get thrashed like usual and now I know they age over 100. So maybe kinda a spoiler
Not exactly, Viltrumites don’t inherently get stronger from aging (their aging rate slows down the older they get though), training is what causes them to increase their powers. The oldest Viltrumites just tend to be the strongest ones because they are the one’s who been able to survive for that long.
@@TheoVorster not entirerly true. In the comics it says that they get stronger from age, training, stressful situations and basically healing from an ass kicking. So yeah age does play a direct factor in strength. Just not as much as experience and recovery
What I love about Invincible is Mark hasn't really had one defining, "with great power comes... etc. etc." moment yet, he's had a few and it's sinking in slowly over time. When Maya died in the hospital, I though that would be his uncle Ben moment, but it makes sense that someone he didn't know dying out of sight wouldn't have a profound effect on him. The situation with Granite, if anything, showed him that even when you try your best to help people you run the risk of both failing AND them letting you down. So far the whole message of the show to me is: dreaming of being a hero is great, but actually BEING one is far harder, and every character has come face to face with this issue again and again. No matter how many Alien Invasions Eve stops, there are still going to be people starving the world over or dying in natural disasters. Even if Invincible lives up to his name, he's still going to be lied to and cheated by people wanting to make use of his better nature. So, while it does suck to see Mark putting off saving people this episode because of his past failures and being used for his growing hero complex, I actually really liked that it happened. There's a good chance that if Mark had acted quicker when Rick first went missing, he could have been saved. If he'd hesitated just a minute longer going after William, he absolutely would have met the same fate. Mark's a really interesting case... sort of 'reverse' Deku in a way. Deku had the heart of a hero long before he got his powers, and more than anything wanted to live by helping those around him... it's always been who he was, it was just unobtainable to him. Deku isn't fazed by the realities of heroism as much, because to him being a hero wasn't necessarily about being stronger than anyone else, but being strong ENOUGH to save everyone in front of you... it's not saving because he's strong, but being strong enough to save for him. Mark got his powers purely by chance, an accident of birth. He'd dreamed of being a hero, but had never even remotely considered the realities of that dream; his desires were completely tangled with aspirations to be like his father, the lies told in comics about how 'the good guys always win' and that there's always a clear solution to any problem, so when he got his powers he was unprepared for the consequences of what... in essence, is a job cleaning up garbage for a living. Seeing him slowly come to terms with what that means, the consequences of NOT saving people now he has the option and in general the 'kind' of hero and PERSON he wants to be is really really cool, especially since the show has absolutely ZERO CHILL.
Bruh y’all are just to fire. I literally watched all of code geass just because I saw your first reaction video to it. Same thing with this show. Hope y’all been having a great year so far.
Your editor really deserves a raise. He's doing a lot of dope things and also taking suggestions from the comments like the WinXp shutdown voice in MHA and the Invincible title card in this reaction.
I'm not sure I agree, you can't just be going around telling everyone you date your secret identity, plus this girl seems like even if she knew she still might dumb him in the future because she can't take the never being on time thing.
Peter park literally didnt tell his aunt for years. The same aunt who raised him why does everyone want Mark to tell a girl who he's only been with for a few months his secret identity.
It is a vicious cycle he is in. He must be absolutely sure that they are right for each other before he can tell, yet every time he does a superhero thing, it puts the relationship in doubt, which just keeps him in that place of hesitation. I can understand his hesitation too... this is a one and out deal. His life and her life will be changed and possibly ruined forever if it gets out and despite how awesome Amber seems, there could be hidden landmines, which again takes time to discover.
@Tesla-Effect that's basically what happens in the comics. Amber is totally different in the books, so I imagine they'll eventually break up, just differently. The Mark/Eve dynalic is really interesting too, because it actually takes time for them to work their stuff out. It's not just an automatic rebound thing.
I wonder if these three are like this in real life. Are they so devoid of imperfections and mistakes that they immediately lash out and confidently judge someone when they're not up to their standards of perfection? I can only imagine how they would read the great literary classics... because characters mess up ALL THE TIME in those. Would it be just a constant barrage of screaming at the pages?
See this episode highlights what my biggest problem was in the books. The inconsistency with marks strength and durability. He was able to stop a meteor and hold up a whole building easy but this cyborg thrashes him like its nothing. Its tough to believe those things are that strong. Itd make sense if you said he was still recovering but people who know how viltrimites work know thats not a factor
Battle Beast hit him with a death blow though. And that is a near OP character. Mark is the human, so he can't have full vultrimite healing powers after just months of getting his abilities.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 see i get what you are saying but theres a couple reasons why the argument of he hasnt healed fully doesnt work. For one viltrimites get stronger after they heal from something like that and there is no half powers. He has them all he just needs to get stronger by training and growing. But the main problem is that in the comics this fight happened way later on so he had even more time to heal and he still got clapped up

4:30 Idk if anybody pointed this out but the music changes from a major chord (when Cecil is watching) to a somber minor chord when Nolan is watching, yielding an uncomfortable presence
Yeah, Invincible is a subversion of the "teen gets incredible powers and becomes a bad as a" tropes. Mark, quite frankly, is *below* mid as a hero when he starts out. He is bad at fighting, panics in fights, makes bad choices when balancing two lives, etc. And realistically speaking, that's what would happen most of the time.
Wait I just realized the cyborg builder was just playing with the head of the first cyborg mark took down and no one took note? These criminals in this show do not play it safe lol

9:51 One thing I noticed about this episode: Mark is wearing a hat similar to Glenn from TWD. And the best part: they’re played by the same person 😂
I don't see how Mark hesitating is a bad thing. I mean, it's way more natural and believable than jumping straight into it, besides being more human
They just have unrealistic expectations for someone who’s been a hero for a few months and barely dedicates anytime to training
@@N3xtStopHell they tend to be overdramatic on shows just look at Korra and Avatar reactions
i think the best running gag of the series/comics is Mark being vincible af despite his hero name, coz boy the war flashbacks of what I've seen
15:35 Has me dying 😭😭😭
Viltrumites gets stronger the older they get. Mark is only 17 whereas all the adult viltrumites are over 1000 years old which is why they're so strong compared to mark.
This is comic spoilers bruh y’all gotta chill
@@jasonandrews1770 so basically they are like kryptonian saiyans
Mark got his ass kicked in this episode but remember that he was f*cked up and weak after his fight against Battle Beast.
Being turned into a cyborg against your will is terrifying!
They words from his wife hurt more than what the guardians did
I'm so glad you guys started this series, it's turning out to be one of my favorites
"I saw it on reddit!" Ah yes, the most trustworthy of evidence
You actually don’t know I was sitting here on ur channel waiting for this video 😭😭😭
We all were tbh
Omg! Editor San is funny! You did the thing. Lmao!
Bruh y’all are just to fire. I literally watched all of code geass just because I saw your first reaction video to it. Same thing with this show. Hope y’all been having a great year so far.
Your editor really deserves a raise. He's doing a lot of dope things and also taking suggestions from the comments like the WinXp shutdown voice in MHA and the Invincible title card in this reaction.
that jaw was twitching, he was trynna to say: "this some bullshit"
Yoooo
Mark should just go ahead and tell Amber he’s a superhero. Every time he tries to do something else she just ends up getting more pissed off at him
I'm not sure I agree, you can't just be going around telling everyone you date your secret identity, plus this girl seems like even if she knew she still might dumb him in the future because she can't take the never being on time thing.
He just met her. He definitely shouldnt tell her.
It's not just an automatic rebound thing.
also ya'll gotta chill with people losing battles sometimes, people aren't immediately great at everything especially when they're starting off.

Sheera: Break his neck
*Mark punches Sinclair's jaw off*
20:03 Sheera: Thank You
Sheera is so GOATED 🐐😂😂

That was literally perfect timing right there
Mark backhanded that evil dude so hard my computer crashed
20:07 bro Lupa’s face at this part! 😂😂😂
My bad I missed this: 20:02
*that phone's gonna be looking at the sky in 10 seconds*
The funny thing about Sinclair insulting running is that his voice is played by Ezra Miller, aka the Flash from Justice League.
Doubt they do this to real people.
Deep breaths.
Tf
To be fair mark literally just got clapped by an op character. Not to mention he’s still a teen so he’s not uber strong yet
You guys are gonna be so pissed when DA Sinclair starts working for Cecil
Mark might as well join Young Justice since he's always getting whooped lmao
Good job editor you actually made me laugh at a pickle Rick joke. I paused before he rolled over and said hold up I don't remember seeing that lol
20:01 Their reactions are priceless! 🤣
Sheera>>>>>😂😂😂
i love that roshi enjoys the title card as much as i do
maybe nolan hid the suit so poorly because on some level maybe even unconsciously he wanted to be exposed...

But the main problem is that in the comics this fight happened way later on so he had even more time to heal and he still got clapped up
Y'all tripping. Mark didn't hesitate. He gasped.
I need a “Yeah?” Compilation soon 💀
I don’t know if that’s a thing in America, but since I've been watching reactions on this channel, the "YEAH" is such a good way to express myself. And I love it Hahahah I use it for everything 😂
I'm glad Lupa noticed that Doug was voiced by Justin Roiland. He also voiced the guy at the end who was mentioned the rumor about drinking from the Immortal's skull on reddit.
This episode was crazy, and I'm expecting a lot more brutal stuff to happen soon. This series is getting more and more tragic.
*Man getting his arm forcibly amputated and replaced and his vocal cords cut out*
Sheera and Roshi: Shits and giggles
This episode was such a Spider-Man episode. Everything Mark did in this episode is exactly the way it went with Spider-Man. Amber is literally Gwen Stacy.
Saying that amber is Gwen might be the worst thing I ever read, Amber isn’t even close to Gwen lmfao
The whole DA confrontation was honestly way more brutal to watch after they animated it. They even got the jaw right
You guys are so funny 😂😂😂😂 y’all really do brighten my day up🥺
4:30 Idk if anybody pointed this out but the music changes from a major chord (when Cecil is watching) to a somber minor chord when Nolan is watching, yielding an uncomfortable presence
How are they expecting Mark to be raw so soon.
They've been spoiled by anime, I suppose.
I can't get over how Sinclair looks like Nishiki.
That pickle rick edit was golden! 😂
Jo I also thought of Katara because in your reaction to Lok you also laughed about "that face" 😂🙏🏽
Wait I just realized the cyborg builder was just playing with the head of the first cyborg mark took down and no one took note? These criminals in this show do not play it safe lol

You know what I agree with Amber... Be expect to just keep going with the flow when ever he disappears or when he goes missing and she doesn’t know. He should tell her or just let her live her life without you.
THEY DID IT THEY USED THE TITLE CARD IN THE INTRO LETS GOOOO

As a comic reader, this show is going in a real interesting direction. It’s super familiar but so much is different
