For anyone interested, the orange square shape is called a Menger Sponge ( or Sierpinski Carpet, or Cantor set depending on how particular with history you want to be). It has infinite perimeter and 0 area! These exist in every finite dimensional space!
@@columbus8myhw Look carefully at the construction of a standard Cantor set (not one of the fat ones that you consider in a measure theory class). This is simply a higher dimensional version of that construction. Some mathematicians call all of these things “Cantor-like sets”
@@jzcook77 Mathematicians _do_ have a more general conception of a Cantor set (also called a Cantor _space_), but I think you're slightly misremembering the characterization. A Cantor space is a nonempty compact metrizable space that's totally disconnected and has no isolated points. ("Metrizable" is automatic if you're in R^n; "compact" in the context of R^n means closed and bounded.) Nicely, all Cantor spaces are homeomorphic, so it's equivalent to state that a space is a Cantor space iff it's homeomorphic to the standard middle-thirds Cantor set. (My favorite Cantor space, incidentally, is "Antoine's necklace", a special subset of R^3 which you can learn about on Wikipedia and on Google Images. (Rémi Coulon made a physical version!)) Unfortunately, the definition _does_ include "totally disconnected", so the Menger sponge is excluded.

The amount of times he bumps into the platform he’s trying to jump onto because he aims too close infuriates me Because I’d like to point this out and because I sound a bit rude here, I’m just joking and I understand he’s used to other games with different movement. I’m actually pretty impressed he’s able to understand what’s going on because I get lost sometimes during the video
Yeah totally understandable just wish he'd put a little more effort into adjustment instead of tossing the poor cube at basically the same angle every time
The "stacking strategy" for the last level is actually possible so long as you abuse the recursion to make multiple duplicates. By launching squares into the smaller version and immediately sending the other out, you can make 4 or so large blocks that can barely stack up with almost no turns to spare.
What about something where people submit short concept games like this one that only take one video to play? That way some of the best concepts could go on to become full games with a little free promotion from the videos. It would be a great way for developers to try things out and have them played by you.
That’s called a Game Jam, and many ppl have already made it. Basically, a theme is given and contestants have anywhere between a few days and a few weeks to make a functional game that fits the theme. The most popular one has consistently been GMTK’s Game Jam
**sees video** "oh hey another game inside a game video!" **looks at who made it** "wait what? how?" also can you play his other games (stick with it, cell machine)
I like the way that Tyler played through this entire game and at no point did he figure out that the power of the launch depends on how far away he clicks.
2:45 You couldn't shoot upwards because there was infinate mass above you. Just looking at the blocks on screen it only seems like there is 1 big block above you (which you probably have enough velocity to push), but if we assume it continues off screen, above that block is another bigger block, and above that another even bigger block, etc. Therefore there is infinate mass above you, and your velocity is finite.
I watched do many people play this game and their treating the square like a circle, so it keeps hitting the edge of platforms. I like to see them fail when they dont know they need to give the shape space.
Eh.. how is it a TH-cam exclusive. It was submitted to a game jam. Are you implying that everybody who had participated in that game jam was a youtuber and had uploaded a video on it? 🤨 Like, other people who are not youtubers clearly could've played it. Unless I'm misunderstanding something here..
Cell Machine also by Sam Hogan is another fun short puzzle game also if you're looking for a longer puzzle adventure then i can't recommend anything more than Unstable which is a flash game that has been archived on Flashpoint
I'm not sure if this is my brain working the mechanics of the game into a quote or a theme of persistence but "the world is permanent but you the character will change".
I think Tyler would like the Nancy Drew Games, decent amount of puzzles, mysteries, good for streaming, less so for TH-cam videos, but he should check them out! Recommend Shadow at the Waters Edge, or Warnings at Waverly Academy!!
