Gretzky is a level way above those other GOATs you mentioned. In terms of pure dominance in their respective sport, I think only a cricket player is at a similar level. When you hear of someone reaching a milestone, it's always the new player, some random legend x1, Mario Lemiuex x3, Gretzky x10. In addition, in Hockey, points are split up into Goals+Assists (Assists being up to the last 2 team mates to touch the puck uninterrupted), and if you took away all of his goals, Gretzky'd still have the most points. Gretzky was the fastest to reach 1000 points, by doing it 424 games. He was also the 2nd fastest to do it in an additional 433 games. Over nearly 900 games, he was well above 2 points per game in a sport where averaging 1 point per game over your career is very good, and 900 games is a solid 11 year career if you never missed a game. No other player has hit 2000 points. The next highest scorer all time has 1921 points in 1733 games. Gretzky had 2857 in 1487.
there is another Canadian GOAT who was a pro at Canada's summer sport - lacrosse - Johnny Tavares. He should be equal to Gretzky, but even most Canadians do not know of him. He holds all the records in two different pro lacrosse leagues. A lot of Maple Leaf fans will know his nephew - John Tavares
Gretzky is the top goal scorer, assist producer, and point scorer in NHL history, and has more assists in his career than any other player who scored total points. He is the only NHL player to total over 200 points in one season, an accomplishment he achieved four times. *At the time of his retirement in 1999, he held 61 NHL records: 40 regular-season records, 15 playoff records, and 6 All-Star records.* After his retirement in 1999, Gretzky was instantly inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Cobie Smulders is Canadian and was mocked for it in her character on How I Met Your Mother that she Canadian in the show. Obviously when the show started I’m sure that people thought it was a joke not knowing she’s actually Canadian.
My hero is Chris hadfield. He's iconic in the aviation field, which I have studied immensely. I'm also a huge David Bowie fan. When hadfield played Space Odyssey in space on TH-cam, I cried. When Chris hadfield came out and played Space Odyssey I BAWLED my eyes out the entire song because of how beautiful it was lol. So iconic!!
I'd bet Emm Gryner had a hand in that. She played keyboards on one of Bowie's tours in 1999-2000, making her one of those alumni, and she's also played the earthly keyboards to accompany Hadfield's version of "Space Oddity".

Tyler, you NEEEEEED to listen to Gordon Lightfoot's "The Werke Of The Edmond Fitzgerald!!!! It is his greatest of a multitude of songs. This song and it's artist is not only so loved by those who hear, but also by the families of the people who died on that ship. When Gordon died they rang the bells 30 times in honour of Gordon and still do. When Bob Dylan was asked how it felt to be the greatest folk and song writer of the world, he said he wouldn't know, they needed to go and ask Gordon Lightfoot about how that felt. Even the greats bowed to his skill. Eugene Levy started on S.C.T.V in the late 70's early 80's, Leslie Neilson also had a brother who was a Canadian politician. many Canadians are forced to become American citizens due to how they get their pay working in the United States due to the taxes or get dual citizenship ....funny Canada doesn't take as harsh a stand on that one. It's a bit of a rub for us that we HAVE to do this , it's not really a choice. That's why we as Canadians started pushing back quietly, most of Canadian productions are now done in B.C., it's strategic. You can go up to Canada by just driving that wonderful highway on the west coast. Add trains or planes and it's pretty much a straight line to Hollywood or L.A. we had to do something too much of our talent was going stateside. Many Canucks resent this. we're forced to hide our accents because Americans may be offended at it. Most Americans don't get that we also use humour to hide our anger.
There's no issue about getting paid, or having a green card for famous Hollywood people. It's about TAXES. Americans (especially those with wealth) pay a lot less.
Nobody is forced to become a US citizen in order to work in and get paid in the USA. You do need a work visa, which means you need to have skills that are in demand, or have been granted permanent residency status (green card). One of my nieces works as a nurse in New York and another works for Autodesk in San Francisco. Neither is a US citizen and I don't believe either wants to become one. But the same holds true for any US citizen who wants to live and work in the Canada. They just get the joy of having to file out a US income tax return regardless of what country they live and work in. The USA is one of the only countries in the world that requires that of its citizens regardless of where they live and work. Keanu Reeves is a Canadian citizen and not a dual citizen. He does have permanent residency status giving him the right to live and work in the US. And if you are hiding anger against the USA, don't assume all other Canadians share your anger
Robin Sprinkles (How I met your mother) is Cobie Smulders. Cobie played a Canadian on How I Met Your Mother and is Canadian in real life. She has been in The Avengers movies as a SHIELD agent. We also have Ryan Gosling, The Weekend, and Dave Thomas. “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” was not only written by a Canadian (Nia Vardarios) but also starred her as well as another Canadian icon Andrea Martin.
Many musicians credit him with the inspiration to pursue a career in music. Tyler may not know him, but many American musicians know him and his work. (Hearing his music takes me back to rainy west coast days in the 1970s and my mom doing housework while his record played.)
No one is mentioning Bobby Orr. He was what every Canadian dreamt of being. He was clean cut, the dominant defenceman of his era, overcame intense pain to continue playing (he could hardly walk when he played for Team Canada against the Canada Russia series). He was known fir his philanthropy and was very humble. He was the first defenceman to win the scoring title.
Dwayne Johnson isn't Canadian per se. He was born in California. But his father Rocky Johnson was Canadian. So Dwayne has Canadian roots, but he himself is not Canadian.
You have to listen to “The wreak of the Edmond Fitzgerald” by Gordon Lightfoot. He wrote that song less than a year after the ship sank. And I would say most people down there know Neil Young, from Crosby Stills Nash & Young and I would say that most of you know Celine Dion and Ryan Reynolds, and Eugene Levy from Schitt's Creek.
I can understand you guys not knowing Gord Downie people like that, and why is Tyler so shocked that some of the greatest musicians actors and comedians are Canadian.
This is exactly why we feel like we have to talk about our Canadian entertainment, because quite frankly nobody gives a shit across the border that these people are actually Canadian.
We get left behind all the time, we feel like how do you not know Anne Murray and Gordon Lightfoot? And the late great John Candy. And you all know Joni Mitchell.

After you've listened to that one, do yourself a favour and listen to his others; if You Could Read My Mind, His and Elvis' version of In The Early Morning Rain, His and Glen Campbells Version of The Last Time I Saw Her Face.
