The vents are actually important there sparky. It is for Cross ventilation in the event that your flame goes out (if you are not using Thermo couple) or you have a gas leak. It prevents the gas from building up underneath and creating an explosion hazard.
@@jstadude9810 There's plenty of ventilation the blocks are not solid there is gaps I've seen plenty of fire pits that don't have ventilation at the bottom and they do just fine so think what you want there buddy
@@jstadude9810 If installed correctly they should never ever be a gas leak also you're fire is on top of the pit not on the Bottom Why don't you watch more TH-cam videos and you see exactly what I'm talking about

If using LP, you mix nozzle is under there and needs a fresh air supply.
