  • Our Commonwealth Games shooting winners (and we hope our Olympic winners in 2012) get an airing on this week's programme. We ask double gold medal winer Stevan Walton and silver medallist Abbey Burton what was Delhi like? How do you get to be the best shot in the civilised world? And how come Britain swept the board for shooting medals when UK Sport can be so mealymouthed about funding it? These are all the questions you didn't see on the BBC, because the BBC abandoned shooting in Delhi in favour of sports at which England, Scotland and Wales are not so good. That's not all. We're out with the Surrey Union hunt enjoying the opening of the foxhunting season. If you don't want to go after charlie from horseback we're with top foxshooter Robert Bucknell learning how to hit them from car windows. And we're with Mike Yardley at the gorgeous Mornacott Estate in Devon learning what goes on behind the scenes at a top pheasant shoot. Keep it Fieldsports Channel!

This has probably been the best episode yet, information wise.

@Axbent that's a CAM rifle, I don't know anymore than that, there's very little info on the net at all it uses an AR bolt head and magazine.

@Axbent well the idea behind it being that as the bolt of the AR only has to turn 22degrees before it can be cycled, that it would be very fast to shoot, plus with the AR magazines you have potentially up to 30 rounds, but I think a 10 rounder would be quite sufficient :) I can't think it's so bad seeing as armed forces around the world use the system, plus it's whatever floats your boat.

or maybe it is just as much about showing some respect to the game! being smart is universal, ties are there whether it be walked up rough shoot or Blenheim.

So weird to see female pheasants shot. Hunting is so different in UK, they might use suppressors, night visions and lamps. All not allowed here.
