So happy to see the UK is finally getting into steel shot, the benefits of which were clearly expressed by George. That has to be the best possible recommendation on earth. Here in Canada steel shot for waterfowl has been mandatory for years. I switched to twenty gauge # 4 steel shot, using an under 6lb auto Beretta about twenty years ago. That's what transformed my shooting on waterfowl, no problem bringing down even Canada geese at extreme ranges. Highly recommend making the switch.
The shot at 12:28 that dog isn't going to live for many more years... How much training do you need before you can purchase and use a firearm in the UK?
oh get ya! yeah it depends but most places wont allow semis on game shoots, its not illegal just considered unsporting having more than 2 chances! ok for rough shooting though :)
@palmer3977 Only last week I had to humanely dispatch a young dog fox with a smashed lower jaw courtesy of neighbour's 12bore. Lingered in agony and had mouth full of maggots from the injury. At least hounds either kill quickly or the fox escapes 100%. THAT is why ban should be repealed.
@gazr58, i totally agree always do the wright thing & dispatch any query a fast as possible, a shotgun on a fox?? only at close range but having the fox pursued over many miles to the point of collapse, then in sheer exhaustion being riped apart by dogs, totally unacceptable in this day & age, like you said, dispatch it humanely & hunting with dogs is not humane
Anti huntiers are the biggest Hypocrites in the world! If you are an anti hunter, do you want tell me that you never eat bacon, have never eaten pork, lamb or beef? And that you dont own a leather belt? BULLDUST!!! Where do you think they get the meat from? They kill the animal in a abattoir of coarse! Forgive us hunters if we like to get our meat free-range by hunting the animal ourselfs.
Not only that but think of the animal's quality of life, and the way it get's slaughtered.. Hunters pride themselves on clean kills. Google slaughterhouse, read section 7, "Animal welfare concerns".
An MBE? Is that the best this country has to offer for a 17 times World champion? If he ponced around in front of a camera or on a stage for a few years and threw wobblies at the media for getting caught out doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing, he would almost certainly have a knighthood! That makes me cringe!
i love my sea fishing & air rifle shooting but how does ripping a fox apart with a dozen or so dogs help the countryside?, i thing the need to control fox populations is self explanatory but do it humanly with a rifle, the fox hunting ban should stay
palmer3977 I know this is old but the purpose of doing this style of hunting is to recreate what would happen in the wild, only the lame and injured foxes will be caught the healthy ones that will help the foxes development will get away
Another top clip Charly. Thank you for the upload FSB.
Love the old opening ... can't believe it's been almost 12 years.

Quality Meat none really
You need to have good gun safety knowledge when you have an interview with the firearms officer, but some tend to forget after a while sadly
Good info
Good point.

Hugo is a right knob
Why does it feel like it always takes over a minute before you see ANY shooting on Fieldsports?
those lads rough shooting have very poor gun safety skill, keep barrels up or barrels down but you don't shoot horizontal at hedges.
i fancy the one with hat on! xxxxx

Has the law on fox hunting been relaxed? I didn't see any other news since the end of 2013? Are they going to take a vote?
+MrSottobanco They never did call a vote in the end.
