i think synni didnt show any emotion until alias said he wouldnt live with her anymore because she was in shock for being found out, she sounds like a deer in headlights when he starts talking to her, not that she didnt care but because reality fell on her and she realized the consequences of her actions when she saw what she was losing
I think you're very right. I don't think that I should've flat out said that Synni 'didn't care.' Her more 'robotic' tone at the beginning of the clip was just contrasted with the more emotional part. Synni is a human and I do genuinely believe that she thinks she did wrong; however, I don't know if I believe that her heart is in the right place.
this is probably if not definitely one of the better videos i've seen on this situation. no self focusing, making sure to distinguish legality and morality, cohesive wording, and generally just a good coverage of this situation. good job!

thank you, probably the main reason for me making this video is having the same issues you did, i.e. the jokes and lack of respect towards the 'situation' (situation in quotes because the word has been so watered down by the acc). i do want to continue this because i competed as a member of the speech/debate team for all four years of high school and i feel like the could supplement that hobby if my attempt at setting up a team in college falls through. I'm actually debating on making a video on OWONekko because: 1) it's a little goofier than this topic, which was a bummer to research 2) i feel like i have some perspective that could add to the conversation, though that's just me idk, we shall see :p edit: typo
i was actually in debate throughout high school and took almost every possible english AP class, that coupled with me listening to other videos on the topic, i felt as if the situation wasn't being talked about in the best way it could. i'm glad that my intentions showed :)
Finally i found a video that is not copy-pasted im so tired of scrolling. I’m also frustrated by the misuse of predator and pedophile by the ACC (and the drama commentary as a whole) they can be related but they are not the same thing!! Please look up the definition before you call Synni either of these two. Either way, Synni’s actions are completely unacceptable and should be held accountable. The fact that according to Birdie’s tweet, that she’s planning a comeback video, gives me a side eye. Anyways, good analysis!
oh yeah definitely. i forgot the actual percentage, but i do believe that it's actually less than half of predators that are actually pedophiles. this could be due to a number of reasons, but from what i've heard, it's usually because of one of two reasons: 1) the predator doesn't actually have a victim that is a child 2) if the predator does have a victim that is a child, it's usually not because they are attracted to children, rather, they enjoy the power imbalance.
Not trying to be mean or anything but I don’t see how this video was necessary to make. Like you talk about how some videos made about the situation aren’t transformative but this video isn’t giving out new information. It’s JUST birdies video without birdie in it.
the main purpose of me making this video was to try to be more respectful with it than i've seen others being, i also tried to make it more cohesive than others as well as using my experience with writing argumentative essays to the advantage of the community. i don't think i did ever say this in the video, but at the time, there wasn't any new information coming out while i was researching, that's why i have the pinned comment for anything new that does come out so that it doesn't appear as if i'm trying to 'milk' the situation by making any more videos. i do agree with the irony that you pointed out, though. yes, this video was not necessary; however, i do feel as if it has something a little more to offer to the conversation than most others i've seen.
if it has anything to do with jack's past, then that's understandable, he was a "shitlet" in 2020 and he (according to his video 'im back.') acknowledges this. you don't have to give your money or follow to someone who you don't support, that's completely valid.
