Chicago Fishing, Brown Trout, Spring 2022

- I was fishing for coho salmon, and I landed a trout. I started off by casting an 1/2 oz gold and orange KO wobbler. I got a few hits on the KO until I lost it to a fish. I switched up to an 3/8 oz gold Kastmaster and shortly after landed this nice trout. Thanks for watching. Please Like and Subscribe!

Thumbs up for letting the fish go.

Thanks. I love the view of the city while fishing this spot.
Nice
Love it!
I like your light gear.

It's been a minute since the NYE video, glad to see a new post!😁 I hope to see you somewhere along the shoreline this spring.
Hope to see you out there soon. Thanks!

You know it's spring when Jesus312 starts posting again. Thanks for the vid and for showing off that spot.
You know me well. Thanks! Lol
Great fish Jesus!
Nice man! Wish I was fishing rn.
Thanks Bo!
Nice catch dude 🤙
Thanks buddy!
I recently got a 26” net on a 6ft telescopic pole because of you. It’s my goal to fish downtown at least once.
That's awesome. Let me know if you need some help.
Got my Trout and Salmon stamps this year. Gotta catch something! Keep posting your videos.
If driving to Montrose, where do you park?
Awesome
Thanks!
I'm probably going to Chicago soon
Its salmon season if you come within the next few weeks.
I use to powerline fish for coho from that spot in the early 90’s when i lived in chicago
That's awesome
Me too it was fun and crazy the folks you’d meet
I was down there yesterday sadly no bites but I’ll definitely be going back
Where is the spot?
I always fish on montrose by the boats never caught anything. Any suggestions
I love fishing the lake it’s funny when tourists are like I didn’t know you could catch fish like that here, I’m like bitch this is the greatest of the Great Lakes I catch monsters all day
I get that every time. Some people laugh at my big net and then I show them how big the fish.
1st thing 1st man I love your videos but I would love to see longer videos keep up to go to work sir and Bear Down
You got it. Thanks for the advice. Go Bears! Thanks!
🇦🇿❤️🇺🇲
Thanks!
Thanks for posting again Jesus. What pound test line were you using? Thank you
I use 6lb fluorocarbon. I'm going to respool with 8lb fluorocarbon.
What’s your rod/reel line setup?
Is this near North ave I’m going This Weekend and I wanted to know where to fish looks like a nice place to fish
Are you fishing with a weighted bait? Or Top fishing?
Been living in Chicago for about 6 years have done anyone lakeshore fishing yet. Could you recommend a spots, I don’t know where I’m allowed to fish and we’re I’m not. Is this Montrose Beach?
Just sub. I will be in Chicago in a few weeks. Which park is this? Catching a trout and a crappie in Chicago is on my bucket list.
41.9122065, -87.6236282 these are the coordinates.
Is inland trout still happening this year?
I went by axe head to check it out and there were no fish no chain to block it off and a guy fishing for bass
Yes, I believe it's in April. I need to check the DNR website.
Awesome. Just wondering, do you fish the Kastmaster the same was as a KO Wobbler?
Yeah they can be used the same way, moderate retrieve, kastmaster has the added ability to be used as a jigging spoon
We always had best luck on Chrome/chartreuse
Jay Smith is correct. I retrieve them both the same. The kastmaster flutters when you pause. I recently started using kastmaster lures. I really like that they cast really far hence the name. Good luck!
@@Jesus312Fishing when fishing gets tough do you tip the hook with squid or white trailer?
@@uncleremus7380 I personally don't. I'll try other lures instead. My other go to lure is a flicker shad and a mepps flying c.
What size reel & rod do recommend using targeting Chicago lake trout/ salmon?..
I use a 7ft medium light St Croix Premier PS70MLF. As for a reel I would recommend a 2500 or 3000 size reel spooled with 8lb fluorocarbon. I been able to land up to 15lb trout with this set up. For salmon I use a Lamiglas HS94MS / 9'4" / Fast rod Reel Pen Battle II 3000 and for Line: J-Braid Grand 8x 15lbs and 20lb fluorocarbon leader. Good Luck
Thank you!
Yo where inc chicago is this like what harbor?
When the a good time frame for the fall season run for coho?
Right now. People have been catching them all week. I need to get out there myself. Go get them.
@@Jesus312Fishing ok sounds good!
Where is this area?
im going soon trying to find fishing do you have any suggestions
Try Dusable and Monroe harbor if you're going downtown. Can also try Montrose or Belmont harbor up north.
@@Jesus312Fishing alright thanks man
Is this in downtown
Yes it is.
I just went out to montrose for coho
There in but I have no clue how to catch theM with no power line
Jesus just caught em without a powerline. LOL. Can't catch them from the couch tho.
Right now just about anywhere you can catch them 3 feet under a bobber on worms, shrimp or minnows.
Or use a spoon like Jesus. Good luck!
@@robertfrance7320 thanks man how far out would you recommend
I would probably go to montrose
@@bigworm45yeet58 some people get them close (15 to 35 feet) and some people get them 50 to 75 feet out...
@@robertfrance7320 what would you recommend
That was more like a 3lber
I agree.
@@Jesus312Fishing nice fish. I'm surprised I haven't ran into you on the shoreline I'm always riding my motorbike along lake. Keep Fishing brother!
