Heartbreaking that first salmon didn't get a solid hookup. As you know, those salmon mouths are so HARD. It can be like setting a hook into a 2×4.

Its going to slow down once it warms up. You may still get lucky but don't wait to long.

It would probably help to have a leader. In this video I was using straight braid.
