Shawn Ray’s feat of being in the top 5 for 12 consecutive years in the Mr Olympia contest has never been duplicated and probably never will. He was Mr consistent with a beautiful body; it’s a complete disgrace he never won it once. However, he will always be regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time and probably one of the most intelligent.
Shawn is one of the best bodybulders of all times. Gorgeous physic.

90's is the best era for the bodybuilding industry. It is to be truly considered as the golden era. The magnificent combination of mass, aesthetics and wow factors that many bodybuilding athletes presented is just mind blowing. 70's is a very great era indeed. But the 90's is the GOLDEN ERA.

One thing I liked about Ray, had great form in his workouts.
Something not always true with alot of other guys.
He was smart, he never got injured and retired early

@@coreyjackson9905 He was also full of oil later. Always bad conditioning in the hams and glutes. Arms just like balloon later in the career, very little separation. Mediocre lower back. Calves that had who knows what in them. Forearms outshined by his huge upper arms. Also, Shawn consistently had a better conditioning. All of those Flex's flaws were visible in poses.

The posing in the green trunks are the type of things to pause the video and take in that physique. He looked incredible the say the least he is another victim of his time In history with so many amazing physiques gracing the the Olympia stage all those years. Even though by a commoners standards Shawn Ray is a HUGE bodybuilder. His physique is even too much for me. But there were others even bigger like Dorian and made him look small. For me Ray is one of the so called "Uncrowned Mr. Olympias"...

There are some good motivational videos out there but this is the best one. It's great to see how he thinks before he gets to the gym, during his workouts, and how he reflects after a workout. It's interesting how he's never satisfied with how he looks but I see how that turns into motivation, determination, and helps with consistency. I don't think Shawn Ray has ever missed a workout and it shows he's NEVER skipped leg day.
RAY. If nothing else, you must respect the professionalism he brought to his routine

its surprising that he had such a dynamic-ballistic workout style because he seems to be a very thoughtful person who plans everything out. Youd think he'd be the type to do super slow controlled reps but here he is slingin' weights like Branch and Johnny lol
How can a guy having physique like this couldnt win atleast one Olympia , something was wrong with judges , this guy has all and yet wasn't crowned sandow trophy for even once
During those times, they were leaning towards taller, massive bodybuilders. Shawn had no chance with those standards. Although his physique was more complete, balanced and aesthetic than all of the other gyys
He was sandwiched between Dorian and Ronnie, also a bit of Lee Haney, those 3 are arguably the best in bodybuilding history and so he was also 5’4” while not being a mass monster meaning his competitors absolutely dwarfed him
Let's be honest, if We had to choose a physique from the 90's to go around with, to feel strong and handsome with, We'd choose Shawn's physique. Surely Levrone, Wheeler, Yates and Ronnie were awesome athletes, also "stronger" in terms of competition due to several reasons, but that's something the judges should have taken care of by maybe rewarding people like Shawn, Gasparri, Labrada etc... anyway nice video as always Nic! 👍
