Dorians back, shoulders, calves and overall conditioning were unprecedented, even shocking. I remember seeing him in the 90s and had that instant gut feeling that I’d never seen a human body like that before in my life. It really was all new uncharted territory in pro Bodybuilding.

I personally have been under DY academy for a whole year. Its hell and back every day every training. Just one year the result is crazy thou. you are basically putting on muscle and mass of a couple years on your body within one year
Totally agree. In my opinion, they're the best of anyone since the steroid era began. The reason: he had what used to be termed "riding britches" thighs -- meaning that (unlike the turnip- or balloon-shaped thighs of recent competitors) they were narrower at the top & wide at the bottom -- similar to Steve Reeves & John Grimek. (Robert Kennedy, in "Hardcore Bodybuilding" & "Beef It", talked about how that shape set Reeves apart from his competitors.) As with a high chest (which both Reeves & Yates had, too), it gives a "superhero" look to the physique, & is probably one of the main reasons for Yates' multiple wins.
I lifted in a gym just like that in Manchester TN. We called it The Cellar because it was down stairs in a basement like that. I never got anywhere near as big as Yates, but we had a few monsters there.
