Once again this was such a banger of a chapter. I love how Oda is giving us so much information but it isn't overwhelming or rushed
Not gonna lie seeing the polar tang broken and laws crew just floating in the water, then bepos speech brought tears to my eyes, this chapter had its own energy and vibe to it, especially the kuzan and Blackbeard flashback, Blackbeard putting his hand out and asking kuzan to join the crew had me like ooooohhhhh shiittttttt
I think what I enjoyed about law and kid losing in such a way is a great way to show the world that although they took down an emperor we know they didn’t solo the emperor like Luffy, so seeing them get beaten by an emperor alone shows that they weren’t ready or at the stage to be there thus taking them out of the running for pirate king.
it would be more shocking if he already stumbled upon all of the red ponegliff and went [im searching for treausure and i always get these rocks. even the language is different .....but it looks cool] and copy paste the writings
Garp leaping into the middle of Blackbeard's crew and unleashing hell to rescue Coby is the most heartwarming thing possible. Please Oda, have mercy on us and don't murder our favorite marine Grandpa.
Makes you realize whitebeard never stood a chance at marineford. He went in there fully expecting to give his life for Ace. Which he did and they won. But ace threw that all away.
One of the questions I always had is where big mum actually found her poneglyf, I don't believe she just found it in whole cake because it isn't a place of historically significants before big mum made her empire
Maybe when she was with Rocks? She probably found out that its an important stone but just no idea there will be 4. We can assume she found out at least around 16/17 years ago because the reason she birth Pudding is to have an ability of the three eyed tribe to read it.
Man, if only there was another Mink close to Chopper who during the Wano Raid was put into a tough position during a very personal fight after they lost their Sulong. That would’ve been a good chance to introduce such a Sulong medicine.
I hope if Oda continues the story after the straw hats saga concludes it isn't a Boruto like sequel, but him hopping around to all the important moments of the past he didn't get to flesh out.
I was never 100% on Garp being able to kill akainu at Marineford since his old age but now I most definitely believe if sengoku didn’t stop him akainu was a deadman 😂
alot of people didnt even factor in both Garp and Whitebeard are going for for Akaniu at that same moment so is not just Garp or Whitebeard 1v1 Akainu, plus both of them are so angry they probably would not care if its a unfair fight they wanted to tear him apart 2v1 Akaniu had no chance
Just as a quick clarification - BlackBeard does NOT have a bounty of "just" above 2billion, his new bounty is 3.996 billion now. So just below 4billion.
in regards to the highest bounty differential fight if we count this as a fight i think we can count Monster Point Chopper holding off Big Mom for a bit during the WCI escape and Chopper had a lower bounty than Bepo and Big Mom had a higher one than teach
@GrandLineReview. FYI, cocking in the book stands for CoC-king. That's why there's a crown symbol next to it. Sanji is actually preparing himself for the colour of conquerors after luffy zoro n nami.
It's probably nothing but I couldn't help looking back at one panel during Garp's last attack against Kuzan. It seems like his eyes are completely shut, with all the mentions of Marineford I wonder if this is a subtle call back as well. Like with Luffy Garp can't bear to look Kuzan in the eyes as he attacks but this time around he knows that Kuzan can actually take the hit so he can actually follow-through.
It never made sense to me that everyone just assumed Kuzan was still working for the Marines. He went as far as fighting Akainu and losing a leg along with the job he wanted. Typically when people go through rapid live altering changes like that, they look for something new to give them purpose. I think it would be more interesting for him to actually be only working for Blackbeard.
i honestly can’t believe we are actually getting small information on the last poneglyph it seriously feels like end game. also that “not you” on Buggy at the end really got a chuckle out of me 😂
small detail that will probably get lost in all the hype: the way garp just disregards all the 'bad' that kuzan has done and just will accept him back as a marine is the same way luffy accepts his nakama. that's great story telling.
I guess he could be but what is the point to pretending that your leg was taken off? to pretend that you took damage? the scars already show that. he just lost a leg in the fight, it's not like having two legs imply you are a member of the marines, so he had to fake it to become a pirate...
Or alternatively, Kuzan really did lose his leg, but it was staged as part of a plan to take down Blackbeard by infiltrating his crew. Because Kuzon could believe that stopping Blackbeard is worth sacrificing a leg in order to fool him into thinking he have legit reasons to want revenge on the Marines. It would also be kind of a poetic inverse to what happened between Luffy and Shanks. Shanks sacrificed an arm to gamble on Luffy's future, meanwhile Kuzan would be sacrificing a leg because he wants to prevent Blackbeard from having a future.
@@y0sh_ the scars could be achieved in the same way as we know advanced logia user's have full control over their bodies. It's still unlikely, Kuzan is most likely crippled and doing this for his own ambitions, just noting that it's possible
the bepo sulong hits harder for me, because as far as i remember that he was on the coverpage on chapter 1031 where all the 2nd strongest crew members are shown. and bepo really deserves that spot on that coverpage after this chapter
Blackbeard continues to be an incredibly intriguing character. The fact that he doesn't seem t mind all that much if Kuzan isn't completely loyal to him kind of reflects his "live and let live" attitude when it came to how he killed Thatch and left the Whitebeard Pirates. He's still incredibly chummy with Kuzan when they meet up despite all that, too, not to mention he can still get fearful when something unexpected happens like with Sulong Bepo. Truly a difficult man to read. Also, for some reason, I thought Kuzan was a relatively recent addition to the Blackbeard Pirates and that the Tenth "Titanic Captain" would be someone else, but it actually makes sense that Kuzan would be a Titanic Captain under Blackbeard, given how strong he is. Similarly, I also thought that the "man marked by flames" would be someone we already know, but this chapter seems to imply he's an entirely new character. Given what Liam says, though, if the character in question actually is the One Piece equivalent of Davy Jones, I'm going to flip my lid. (or it could be SCOPPER GABAN, who's with me?!) The reveal that Kuzan was actually Garp's original protégé doesn't come as much of a surprise, and actually explains a few things regarding their relationship beforehand. Will Garp win against Kuzan? Part of me thinks he will, but who knows; Garp always seems to acknowledge that he's past his prime, though will Kuzan really kill his old mentor? Regarding the end of the chapter, call it a hunch, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we won't be seeing the majority of the Heart Pirates again (RIP Polar Tang, we'll miss you :( ). As for Law and Bepo, I feel they're more likely to turn up again compared to Kid and Killer, at the very least.
the one piece equivalent of davy jones is davy jones. He has been namedropped in the manga as a sea devil who takes treasure from sunken ships. the davy back fight is named after him.
About Sanji's book saying COC-KING 😂, i think it might be a foreshadowing to him getting conqueror haki as COC might stand for Color of Conquerors. Also another cool detail that I found was that when one uses conquerors it makes people faint and guess what in that color spread every one except Sanji is asleep !
Blackbeard legitimately get scared and panics when something that he absolutely did not calculate happen. Like Beppo being able to go to zuelong transformation with no full moon
It was shown in the chapter multiple occasions that Kuzan can ezly freeze half the island and everyone on it, so it is quite unlikely that he is serious. Why would he freeze Hibari only and not the others too - it's literally like just an entrance that look I am here. Also him trying to freeze Garp is unreal as he is the one most familiar with his haki powers. I think it's 100% just playing around so that he can cover himself that "yes, I tried to stop them but they were too strong, oh no". He even points out loudly to all the pirates that he is "there to prevent Coby's rescue cuz Teach not gonna like this"
Monkey d dragon is a tough competitor but I really would love it if it's someone from Roger pirates, specially a certain someone who also goes by the name pandaman who could be seen feasting with Roger pirates in a flashback. I mean it would make perfect sense coz he's been seen throughout the story. Maybe he has been keeping an eye on straw hats for their safety or something like that.
Garp works better for a spin-off because of how similar and different he is to Luffy. People say they would love Roger or Ace, but I honestly think people would get tired of them as main protagonist in the world of One Piece. Plus, it would be cool to see a series through a marine perspective, and I think Roger always needs to keep an air of mysticism. Roger needs to stay almost out of reach, and anytime he and Garp do meet it would be the highlight of the series.
The fact that Garp and Roger are this strong is probably why people didn't think devil fruits were real, they just assumed all the powers were expressions rather than literal
I really hope that Oda doesn't do Garp dirty with the Aokiji vs Garp fight cause It's really making me worry and think back to Jiraiya and Obi-wan you know where the: Old teacher(Obi-wan or Jiraiya)dies to their old star pupil(Anakin or Nagato) in order to protect their new star pupil(Luke or Naruto). Oda would never do that right...right, no I'm not coping. But😰.... hear me out.. The man marked by flames could probably be one of the former roger pirates it could be scopper gaban or the rest of the crew that the strawhats heve not encountered yet. The whole roger pirates are probably moving based on what the found at laughtale. So it could be like Shanks was in search for the next joyboy/nika/roger, Crocus was at the entrance of grandline waiting to guide the "chosen one", same way Rayleigh was at sabaody(end of first half of grandline) to do the same so this man marked by the flames could just be one of the rogre pirates. What if Dragon doesn't actually control weather, but instead has a Revolve-Revolve fruit that makes him a Revolutionary human. Oda sure loves his puns.
don't go counting Buggy out just yet, that bunglenut of a clown always has a way of stumbling his way into situations and flashily entrancing those around him to get him out of the situation better off than before, so I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow bungles his way into the final battle
I think this arc is really leading into the death of one Garp McGalaxy, just something tells me. And after Garp showing off his crazy power, I really hope Sakazuki is screaming his thanks to Sengoku. If he hadn’t stopped Garp, I’m convinced Mr Lava was going die. Hopefully this isn’t the end of Garp, but this arc seems to have him taking his final bow. Will is be Kuzan who kills Garp, maybe, maybe not, but it will be AWESOME!
I think this was the first time we've seen Aokiji's ice prosthetic in the manga, and just so casually shattering it to show the Blackbeard pirates definitely seems like something "lazy justice" would do... and yet I can never see him doing that at the same time. lol Poor Law, he's not a main focus character any more, but I still felt the loss of the Polar Tang and for the Heart Pirates in my guts. I love Law.
The “Blue Hole” panel was incredibly cool, but I’m glad I watch chapter reviews because I couldn’t even tell Garp was grabbing Kuzan 😂 I thought that’s just what he used to break out of the ice
I don’t know if Kid and Law’s ships getting destroyed means they’re out of the race, we’re fully aware of another crew who had their ship destroyed years ago who are currently an Emperor crew
Watch Buggy somehow form an alliance with the man marked by flames or somehow accidentally get his road poneglphyes. Never count Buggy out for anything.
Why do I feel that the "Man marked by flames" will be reached by Buggy, and Crocodile / Mihawk will arrange all the Poneglyph rubbings somehow, thus leading Buggy to Laughtale first.
9:09 I think that makes sense. He feels more “pain” than anything else (like a personal kuma pushing excess pain into him) like not scared of dying so much as “oh this is gonna smart…”. Like when he as rolling around after Luffy’s attack Also not sure chopper would have **understood** their sulong forms until after the raid as 1) when he arrived on Zou they were already messed up and might’ve hurt themselves 2) they were quiet about their secrets until Kinemon arrived 3) he may have heard of sulong but might not have figured it was a chemical reaction until he saw it in person “oh it’s a natural instinct that triggers BECAUSE they see the moon nothing to do with the actual moon beams which is why they can just cover their eyes”. Carrots unveiling was too shocking but during the raid he would have less shock and more examples to analyze its mechanism. Speaking of which… did I just accidentally stumble upon hidden lore?! Like what if sulong is triggered because instinctually they hate the people of the moon? Some event in the past caused the moon to form and stole their friends away so moon=hate. Maybe that’s something of note in the OP world like the continents were cast into the heavens to form the moon and they’re left with just the Red Line now. Would explain why Fairy Vearth is akin to “True Earth” and that once the One Piece is found, that land will be reintegrated BACK into the sea. Maybe the “kryptonite”-like effects of sea prism stem from moon rocks that were left over from the moons creation? Maybe the moon is linked to the OG Devil OR the one who initially defeated him? Like the land itself being one big sea prism container for the OG Devil’s corpse??
I think the man marked by flames will Join Cross Guild, giving that person protection and giving Cross Guild the ability to join the race for the One Piece.
BB crushing Law and his crew off-panel, while looking like bitch on the page - he's like a Buggy that can secretly switch into a Shanks mode when no one is looking
For next week's hiatus could we please have a video about One Piece performance enhancing drugs? Sulong drug use = evidence for Carrot to join the Straw Hats? Speaking of drugs, since Luffy was unveiled as a Zoan type, I am really looking forwards to a Rumble Ball Luffy at some point...though it might also feel like a cop out compared to the work he put in to developing Gears 2,3 and especially 4.
honestly, law getting some good shots in the blackbeard crew, surviving and not having his fruit stolen is a Win in my book, yeah his ship got destroyed and he lost the poneglyphs but as we can see from bepo, his crew can still mostly be alive and swin out and then they regroup and decide what to do next, maybe ally with luffy again ?
11:35 HAHAHA! That edit’s hilarious but honestly with how far Buggy’s come I wouldn’t count him out to somehow be at the final island for the battle with Crocodile and Mihawk(since he wouldn’t go voluntarily) I’m not saying he can become pirate king, I’m saying he can’t be knocked from status as Emperor without trying a rematch out against Luffy. Yeah I laughed as I typed that last sentence but I still believe it.
What if Garp kills kuzon and koby gets ice fruit it would be so cool, make a fun parallel against luffy being a sun god + it’s Koby who doesn’t want him to get a little upgrade

I loved how unfazed Grap was when Kuzan said no to him. Buddy is like "you think I haven't dealt with unruly kids before?" And then just gave him what I guess is Grap's version of a love tap?
I like how this is kind of a reverse marineford marines invading a pirate base to rescue a captured marine
Hopefully it's also reverse when it comes to Garp and Whitebeard's fates
garp arrives from the sky (above),
whitebeard arrives from (below) the sea
@@krisorevir8040 Whitebeard is underground now , so Garp above the sky i.e. Heaven?
@@clips__supplier7196 there is no one who could kill garp now
I think that it would be very Oda-like for buggy to happen upon the last road ponegliff and have him not fully understand the weight of what he found.
You think Buggy will accidentally find it before Zoro?
@@SlashinatorZ Yes. The new Nabuggator compass will find the One Piece!
nah but like, u know, in the cross guild, theres croco boy and Mihawk, theyll prolly know the imporatance
it would be more shocking if he already stumbled upon all of the red ponegliff and went [im searching for treausure and i always get these rocks. even the language is different .....but it looks cool] and copy paste the writings
Garp looks terrifying, Its actually insane
@@bbhhii that actually makes a lot of sense, she might have stole it from rocks ship when they were terminated
Man, if only there was another Mink close to Chopper who during the Wano Raid was put into a tough position during a very personal fight after they lost their Sulong. That would’ve been a good chance to introduce such a Sulong medicine.
Carrot fans right now 😢
this is exactly why this was something chopper only created after the raid
BB strat always seems to be "Kidnap someone and trade them to the WG for something"
That artwork at the end is so good, I'd love to see a poster of the 4 emperors
I hope if Oda continues the story after the straw hats saga concludes it isn't a Boruto like sequel, but him hopping around to all the important moments of the past he didn't get to flesh out.
let the man rest
I think it would be more interesting for him to actually be only working for Blackbeard.
ye a lot of popular one piece fan theories dont actually make sense
Yea I feel like he is only now working for himself
i honestly can’t believe we are actually getting small information on the last poneglyph it seriously feels like end game. also that “not you” on Buggy at the end really got a chuckle out of me 😂
Same
Buggy will be the first one to find the man marked by flames because all the other emperors have at least 2 poneglyphs.
The "NOT YOU" made me lough out loud so bad XD
Great chapter review ^^
small detail that will probably get lost in all the hype: the way garp just disregards all the 'bad' that kuzan has done and just will accept him back as a marine is the same way luffy accepts his nakama. that's great story telling.
The part where the bb pirates say "it's a man with a burn scar" and kuzan pulls his shirt down a bit to go "maybe it's me" was hilarious
I just realised that through general Logia shenanigans Kuzan could be faking his lost leg, and so still be allied with the Navy
How ?
@@matthieusaade3616 because as a logia he is literally made of ice already.
1:15 I've been playing Elden Ring so much, I immediately imagined Garp as a Soulsborne Boss.
Yes, it is utterly terrifying.
sounds like hoarah loux
Now I want a One Piece Soulsborne game.
*Hoarah Loux theme tune intensifies*
Blackbeard legitimately get scared and panics when something that he absolutely did not calculate happen. Like Beppo being able to go to zuelong transformation with no full moon
Can’t even Imagine what Prime Garp was like after These Chapters

All I gotta say is things just got a bit more heated in the race to Laughtale
It was shown in the chapter multiple occasions that Kuzan can ezly freeze half the island and everyone on it, so it is quite unlikely that he is serious. Why would he freeze Hibari only and not the others too - it's literally like just an entrance that look I am here. Also him trying to freeze Garp is unreal as he is the one most familiar with his haki powers.
I think it's 100% just playing around so that he can cover himself that "yes, I tried to stop them but they were too strong, oh no".
He even points out loudly to all the pirates that he is "there to prevent Coby's rescue cuz Teach not gonna like this"
11:30 that aged like milk, given the latest Buggy stuff in chapter 1082!
That "NOT YOU" idea (11:38) was so genius!
Great video! Although I would have thought you'll describe Blackbeard's bounty as close to 4 Billion instead of over 2 Billion
It's now funny to look at 11:37 and the " not you " on buggy
Aokiji is the drippiest character in One piece
Love coming to your discussion after reading every Sunday! It’s ritual!
I really hope that Oda doesn't do Garp dirty with the Aokiji vs Garp fight cause It's really making me worry and think back to Jiraiya and Obi-wan you know where the:
Old teacher(Obi-wan or Jiraiya)dies to their old star pupil(Anakin or Nagato) in order to protect their new star pupil(Luke or Naruto).
Oda would never do that right...right, no I'm not coping.
But😰....
I love Garp and the fact that he turned down becoming a admiral or fleet admiral gives me so much more respect for him.Bro's ironically the coldest man on the island😅the defintion of fatherly justice.Bepo let's just say the meme's were right he legit pulled a perc 30 and made catviper and dogstorm look like tonttata,he literally became a pokemon and used mega evolution, now he can finally solo all of the one piece verse 🐐.Best one piece glow up but i really hope the same treatment is given to Usopp in Elbaf.

hear me out.. Or i could just be overthinking
its Monkey D. Dragon think about it

Nice one
Yea it could be a roger pirate as shanks on elbaf said that he ran into a friend he thought was dead, we assumed that was dorry and broggy but it also could of been a roger pirate too
This introduction to this video was hilarious and flat out impressive. Liam is stepping up his game in his quest to become the king of the pirate youtubers.
What if Dragon doesn't actually control weather, but instead has a Revolve-Revolve fruit that makes him a Revolutionary human. Oda sure loves his puns.
That would be funny actually
don't go counting Buggy out just yet, that bunglenut of a clown always has a way of stumbling his way into situations and flashily entrancing those around him to get him out of the situation better off than before, so I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow bungles his way into the final battle
I’m just waiting for Buggy to go to a random outhouse and find all of the Road Poneglyph rubbings, because Buggy.
I love Law.
The man marked by flames could be the pirate that has an eye patch, since oda said when we see one that marked the end of the series
The “Blue Hole” panel was incredibly cool, but I’m glad I watch chapter reviews because I couldn’t even tell Garp was grabbing Kuzan 😂 I thought that’s just what he used to break out of the ice
Same I couldn't tell with the black and white but the colored panel on the site I read made it much clearer
I don’t know if Kid and Law’s ships getting destroyed means they’re out of the race, we’re fully aware of another crew who had their ship destroyed years ago who are currently an Emperor crew
One piece is such an amazing series,I remember when my older brother showed me one piece when it was on Dessrossa arc, Still watching to this day
So now chopper has become a drug dealer to the animal kingdom
I cannot wait until Buggy gets all 4 road poneglyphs first, and then fails completely to actually use them.
Biggest bounty diff assault, was chopper trying to kill Big Mom on Wano, moments before she woke up as O-Lin.
As far as i could tell, One piece is not having another break after chapter 1081
I think we can all agree that garp will die for both luffy and cobi’s sake they need a boat in order to defeats black bread
Watch Buggy somehow form an alliance with the man marked by flames or somehow accidentally get his road poneglphyes. Never count Buggy out for anything.
prime chinjao must be pretty powerful to withstand prime garps attacks.
I think law is gonna run into the kid pirates sinking and join forces again.
Why do I feel that the "Man marked by flames" will be reached by Buggy, and Crocodile / Mihawk will arrange all the Poneglyph rubbings somehow, thus leading Buggy to Laughtale first.
Of course, the video I've been too busy to watch was the one I got to show off my new short! Great video as always.
Chopper: "SAY MY NAME!!!!!"
Bepo: "YOU'RE CHOPPER!!!"
Chopper: "You're god**mn right."
u forgot that blackbeard has a bounty of 3,996,000,000 berries.
9:09 I think that makes sense. He feels more “pain” than anything else (like a personal kuma pushing excess pain into him) like not scared of dying so much as “oh this is gonna smart…”. Like when he as rolling around after Luffy’s attack
Also not sure chopper would have **understood** their sulong forms until after the raid as 1) when he arrived on Zou they were already messed up and might’ve hurt themselves 2) they were quiet about their secrets until Kinemon arrived 3) he may have heard of sulong but might not have figured it was a chemical reaction until he saw it in person “oh it’s a natural instinct that triggers BECAUSE they see the moon nothing to do with the actual moon beams which is why they can just cover their eyes”.
Buggy is gonna find the man marked by flames 🤣
Law is going to join Luffy, not as crew but as a man on a mission to stop Bb
Imagine on the book sanji reads in the cover page, cocking is Oda forshadowing "coc king". Sanji is a conqueror haki king confirmed let's go
Forget just a Garp flashback, lets have an entire flashback arc with Garp and Roger vs Rocks
honestly, law getting some good shots in the blackbeard crew, surviving and not having his fruit stolen is a Win in my book, yeah his ship got destroyed and he lost the poneglyphs but as we can see from bepo, his crew can still mostly be alive and swin out and then they regroup and decide what to do next, maybe ally with luffy again ?
Sulong Bepo is a Beast. He might be the strongest sulong Mink form tbh
Yeah I laughed as I typed that last sentence but I still believe it.
i wouldnt be surprised if buggy was the first one to find the last poneglyph first
Former Marine Admiral no diffs entired Yonko crew. Then flexes on the visibly panicked Yonko 🤣
What if Garp kills kuzon and koby gets ice fruit it would be so cool, make a fun parallel against luffy being a sun god + it’s Koby who doesn’t want him to get a little upgrade
Buggy wil be the one finding him when he finds captain johns treasure
Now blackbeard has 3.9 B bounty haha it makes much more sense on the bounty difference between him and Bepk
My man Chopper now started selling drugs 😂
