Yeah it kinda felt like oda is describing his view and himself to some extent. There is some similarity i think between the mandated absence of kuma from his daughter to Oda's absurd work dedication to the series and how little he's actually with his family. Maybe he thinks he has the same sacrifice in spirit (as kuma)?
I really like that bit of defiant compliance from Vegapunk. He knew full well that when Saturn said “self destruct mechanism” he meant bomb, but he decided to defy the evil old man without breaking his contract. A permanent shut down command fits the criteria of a self destruct function without the unwarranted cruelty of exploding Kuma’s body.
Idk what I would do without GLR. The last couple months in the One Piece youtube circle has been kind of dry content-wise. GLR seems to be the only channel not struggling to put out something new. I swear all of the big OP youtubers rn are pretty much only doing chapter reviews and then covering random things in the story that we already know about like talking about the yonko for 30 minutes. GLR has seriously become the best OP channel out there. Every video is great without fail.
It's hard for me to get emotional watching one piece it's a masterpiece and an epic but it doesn't hit me the same as the pain arc in Naruto it's too Goofy to take that seriously for me
I feel like a buster call had to be on Vegapunk's radar as a risk, Egghead Island has to have some sort of backup defense after the laser field for it.
If Kuma does make the sacrifice play, I'm keen to the idea that he'll have his Oden moment, too. Sinking into the water with the last remnants of Egghead with a large grin (the grin seems to be the real sign of rebellion)
I still feel that Kizaru turning somehow is still a bit cope.. It could be that Im proven wrong by the next chapter, but I feel Kizaru's story is one of a man who is unable to grapple with his own conscience. Always sort of aloof and distantiating himself from the moral dilemmas playing out in front of him. Maybe his "cloudy" justice isn't cloudy because he can't know, but rather because he doesn't want to think about it. I think he is meant to symbolize the idea of that you're still making a choice even if you're refusing to choose. But next few chapters will probably show whether I'm right or not.
In the panel of someone mysteriously feeding luffy in 1103 there's a bowl of ramen off to the left side; It's what kizaru was eating when he arrived in 1089 and oda's used that as foreshadowing before (third cup of sake belonging to sabo).
Buccaneer's might become more physically stronger/physically resilient when coming to those they love. Kuma's father survived longer to protect his son, and Kuma prevailed to protect Bonney.
@@themidnightbanshee5927 its within the narrative and not direct characterization but kizaru doing the nika dance with everyone else at egghead is definitely the strongest evidence for it rn
The buccaneer body is described similar to Blackbeard's weird body. I wasn't convinced by fan theories that Teach was a buccaneer but now I could accept that the trait buccaneers possess might have to do with multiple souls. Vegapunk can measure the weight of a soul leaving so would know for sure when Kumas humanity leaves, but he may have 2 more, similar to the theory that Teach has 3 souls to eat a devil fruit each
@Sheenifier maybe thats the reason Pacifista can use the laser attack from the Pika-Pika no mi. Maybe if Franky had a Devil Fruit, he would have died from installing the Radical Beam tech

@@M8V3N187 Punk Records is an area in the Labophase of Egghead which stores the brain of Dr. Vegapunk. It acts as a "library" which Vegapunk and his six satellites can remotely connect to, allowing them to share the same brain. -Chapter 1067
did you guys notice that mostly every arc has a warlord. It's like the story is coming around every warlord from the very start. from weakest to strongest, and the only warlord left is Mihawk. His arc will be a banger
He said mostly. Every arc has either a world or an emperor, or builds towards one like Punk Hazard building Donflamingo and Kaido. I think you are correct if we even count newer warlord additions, we can had Law and can expect arcs for Buggy and Blackbeard
@@pablobuquet2534 yeah it is true but i think the original comment talked about having a backstory for these characters. We had backstory for Boa, Kuma, Donflamingo, Jinbe and kind of experienced Crocodile and Moria. Maybe we are owed a backstory for Mihawk too.
Bucaneer have insane regeneration power and the Elders incorporated it to their bodies. That's why Kuma regains part of himself and Saturn's hatred to Kuma
9:27 I think this happens because whatever character can regenerate wouldn’t bother trying to defend themselves because any damage won’t matter cause they can regenerate
This chapter made me actually wonder whether, maybe, and just maybe, Oda will subvert most people's expectations and have Kuma not only survive Egghead, but also join the Strawhats himself and fulfill the old numbers theory.
I love how you can reference a lot from the Egghead arc to the Sabaody arc. Like the main details is happening in reverse, first Sentomaru and the newer versions of the Pacifistas are shown, then Kizaru appears, and only then does someone punch a celestial, or in this case, a Gorosei. Next thing you know Scopper Gaban appears out of nowhere similarly to Raleigh appearing.
Saturn being completely unfazed is pretty scary, Kuma isn’t a weakling by any means! Logias being intangible is one thing, but damage regeneration is something only Marco was capable of.
There's a book series I read called The Three Body Problem. At the end of the first book, everything seems completely hopeless, with aliens justifiably stating "YOU ARE BUGS" through technology humans can't even conceive of. A police officer, grizzled guy, comes up with one thing. He points out that ants are bugs too, and in spite of humanity's millennia-long war on bugs, they've managed to survive. We have every possible advantage, but they live on. I'd love to see a similar sentiment communicated to this elder with the alien name, Saturn.
@@zakariyyamccullin1005he could of easily finish off luffy when hes out of juice or take care of the strawhats easily now that zoro is out of the picture busy with lucci.
Two possibilites for the Buster Call Thingy as I see it: First: Egghead gets blowed up. Like planned. Strawhats and Bonnie get away but no more Eggyhead. Second: Luffy goes Nika and makes all of egghead bouncy. So the cannonballs go back to the sender. Or maybe somthing something CP0 and Kizaru
The biggest takeaway from this chapter is that the Strawhats will have to completely eliminate, Cell style, the Gorsei to defeat them. Then again these are not the types of opponents that you can just destroy their dreams and allow them to continue hoping they turn a new leaf.
I like how the story handled the punch. We got Kuma's big cathartic moment, it actually did something, it didn't take out Saturn and undermine the threat he poses, AND it allowed for worldbuilding on the buccaneers, Saturn's powers, and vegapunk's morals themselves.
9:20 My theory about Saturn taking such serious damage comes from comparing Haki to Nen in HxH. In HxH when fighting they use Ko, where they have to focus where their nen is on their body, constantly swapping between offense and defense. Similarly, I imagine that Armament Haki works in a similar way, and I believe it even came up in Laws fight against Vergo on Punk Hazard I think. However I believe that Saturn is completely relying on his regeneration for defensive measures, which is allowing him to use 100% of his Haki force on offense. At least, this is what I hope is the case, for reasons you've mentioned here.
So, when Sakazuki fought Kuma in Mariejois and he whitebearded Kuma i thought he was dead, but it seems Oda has retconned that away, considering you can't see the battle damage in any of the kuma panels in subsequent chapters. Maybe he does survive this one. On the Buster Call topic, maybe the Egghead incident is Luffy Blanco defeating the ultimate Buster Call and showing the world that there's now a single power mightier than even the pinnacle offensive Marine strategy.
Two highlights for me. Everything about Kuma/Bonney, and Franky’s radical beam. Our best pervert took it a step even further by shooting Saturn with it. Definitely hope Franky is okay. Maybe he needs to be rebuilt by Vegapunk? Could be the long awaited upgrade Franky needs. Seraphim Franky? Sure is fun to speculate.
"The Navy's Buster Call, get rid of 99.9% of your problems with one golden snail!" (ineffective against strawhat pirates, side effects may include being included)
I'm genuinely stoked at the idea of Caribou continuing to be the goat. This chapter makes it now seem less likely that Kizaru was the one to food Luffy, which means that there really is only one other possible choice who was already a known quantity on the island. So it's either Caribou, or someone so far out of left field we couldn't possibly predict them. I'm really hoping for Swamp Nakama though xD
Amazing how a Spider Demon who loses a limb with one punch has the nerve to call everyone else an insect. It may have been brief but I’m glad Kuma served up a nice tall glass of ‘fuck around and found out’ for ole Jay.
I feel like we can take it a step further: not only would it inspire the Revolutionary Army of Kuma punching one of the Five Elders, but if Kuma were to die, then the news would enrage and send the two parties into a Civil War, possibly having the Straw Hats attention.
One thing I didn't fully grasp until a marine pointed it out in the chapter is that this is a slave, the lowest form of life on the planet, striking one of the Elder Stars, the most powerful known humans on the planet.
Kizaru not loyal to anyone he follows order from whoever is in charge if world govt falls he just follows the orders same amount under new govt that replaces them just how he did not care who got fleet admiral spot.
@@basillah7650kizaru looks like he'll be liberated by luffy just like how nico robin was, if you look at his story, he seems like a good guy who's trapped in the bad side of the world. He really doesn't like saturn and it is apparent, he doesn't want to kill vegapunk, sentomaru and bonney and kuma, he looks caring and feels like a protector of bonney and sentomaru story wise of course
Even beyond whatever the Buccaneer trait really is we were told that Kuma was going to break free from the very beginning of the arc when the cyborg sea beasts kept breaking free of their own mind control. It was foreshadowed from the very beginning.
Someone on reddit wrote that Saturn mentioning insects more times than usual is an epic foreskinning to how he will be de"feet"ed. Luffy in G5 form going giant and stomping on him like the spider demon old man hybrid he is
The regenerating character becoming a pin cushion trope actually came from American comics. The only way to visually show the abilities of a healing factor was to have them injured first.
It was such a touching moment when Kuma reunited with Bonney I couldn’t stop myself from shedding a few tears. Also I believe that Caribou will play an important part in the defeat of Saturn and I think the person he is working for is none other than Dragon himself, I guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Kuma right now is a classic example of the "Ship of Theseus" which is a paradox which states if a ship has every plank replaced at what point does it no longer become the original ship. In this case is this really Kuma? or just a fragment of him that remained? A Ghost in the shell, so to speak. Also regarding Kizaru, i got the impression from the chapter that he's playing it safe for the moment, not making any big moves against either side at the moment, waiting to see how this plays out before inevitably making his decision as i don't think he's made one yet.
It’s so funny that Saturn’s design is based off Jerry Garcia (lead member of the Grateful Dead) but Saturns character is the complete opposite of Jerry Garcia
What if the Blackbeard pirates that are there already sabotaged the ships? Or at the very least they could help stop the buster call since they're clearly there for something and they definitely don't want whatever it is to get destroyed
If Bonney hadn’t absorbed Kuma’s memory bubble wouldn’t Kuma have technically had an opportunity to return to “normal”? Assuming he doesn’t die or become physically destroyed beyond repair?
That punch fueled by pain delivered pain. I just love the perspective in that shot too. I also noticed the look in Saturn’s eye. The Kuma flashback into this moment could make its own 13 episode anime. A great chapter to ring in the new year!
What if Vegapunk is wrong about the Buccaneer special trait, and it is actually the will of Kuma's devil fruit which took control of an empty shell of body just like Zoan fruits on objects. I know it is a paramecia but it literally gave him animal paws so you never know the twist.
I thought it could be a cat God mythical Zoan, as in Egypt, cat gods were protectors of the Sun God, Ra. But it's impossible, as the powers of Nikyu Nikyu no Mi were replicated with Green Blood, meaning it's a confirmed Paramecia
If you're unaware of the context killing vegapunk might be the moral decision as it was Bonny's originally stated goal upon arriving on egghead until she saw the flashback bubble.
The Buster Call isn't smth we're afraid of anymore, i am sure 3 of the Straw Hats could deal with it with ease, especially Zoro, Sanji & Usopp, but something tells me, that they will run away, as usual. End of Discussion.
i think even nami could deal with the buster call.. just have zeus have a go at all these ships, they cant shoot a cloud, can they? maybe they have seastone-canonballs though, that might be a problem.. other than that marine ships are a joke 😅
But it is not your normal buster call. There 20 battleships not 10 with 80 additional navy ships. There are 30.000 Marin Soldiers led by 9 vice admirals not 5. and there is an admiral and an elder Star leading them all. That is like the power of a 3 buster calls
I've been thinking for a while, what if the reason why kizaru is still carrying out his mission despite he's confliction is because he's locked in some sort of demon contract that you HAVE to do. Maybe the only way out of that contract is death.
My guess (or theory) gonna be that Blackbeard either gonna get: A. Saturn's Zoan devil fruit, so he will have all three type of Devil Fruits, B. Kizaru died and he get his devil fruit, so he'll have both Dark and Light Devil fruits, C. Kuma died and he get his devil fruit, which will make him more OP than before (hoping not this one)
I am so happy that Oda gave Kuma this moment. Usually when a Manga ends on such a cliffhanger and a punch, the punch is worthless or blocked - but Kuma obliterated that insect. I can't even imagine how absolutely over-the-top the output of that punch was for him to tear Saturn to literal shreds. Now the question remains if Kizaru really did help or not, since he's back to attacking the Strawhats. Important to bring up here is that he didn't attack Kuma, Bonnie OR Luffy, so the point still stands that it's likely Kizaru helped Luffy get his strength back. There's clearly restraint in Kizaru's actions.
I think how they will animate that punch, because... 1. Kuma appeared in front of Saturn with the punch pose 2. Saturn speak a lot in these ~0.5 seconds 3. The punch hits It's a mistake made by Oda. Saturn need to talk before Kuma appears, or we will see a floating Kuma during his talk.
I feel like if Luffy gave Saturn a Bajrang Gatling, that could take him out or spread his body out so much that when Egghead is destroyed, Saturn won’t have enough time to escape while he’s regenerating.
Bajrang Gatling takes forever to crank, and I doubt Saturn would just sit around and let Luffy get into position. Saturn is insanely fast and can literally disappear into the ground before it hits
On December 2022 i agreed to let go of my daughter so she could have access to a government mental health plan. Since then, they held me liable for alegged crimes against my own child, I've already been proved innocent but the restraining order is still in effect. I haven't seen her in over a year and the pain and sorrow i've been immersed in is unbearable. Kuma arc resonated with me in a deeply personal level and helped me cope with this whole situation.

After reading the Kuma backstory and this chapter I feel that Kuma embodies Oda's ideals on fatherhood.
I seriously can’t tell if Robin is soon to be most unlucky or lucky person for surviving three buster calls.

If he got a picture of Luffy in Gear 5 somehow, I'm sure Morgans has someone on or around Egghead to witness Kuma vs. Saturn
I feel like a buster call had to be on Vegapunk's radar as a risk, Egghead Island has to have some sort of backup defense after the laser field for it.
Kuma's self-destrction failure reminds me of Android 16, who tried to blow up Cell with him.

The buccaneer body is described similar to Blackbeard's weird body.
I wasn't convinced by fan theories that Teach was a buccaneer but now I could accept that the trait buccaneers possess might have to do with multiple souls.
Vegapunk can measure the weight of a soul leaving so would know for sure when Kumas humanity leaves, but he may have 2 more, similar to the theory that Teach has 3 souls to eat a devil fruit each
If your theory holds, Kuma could've had two more powers like how Blackbeard did. Well never know tho

did you guys notice that mostly every arc has a warlord. It's like the story is coming around every warlord from the very start. from weakest to strongest, and the only warlord left is Mihawk. His arc will be a banger
Wano had a which warlord?
Jinbe and Law (well both are former warlords).
He said mostly. Every arc has either a world or an emperor, or builds towards one like Punk Hazard building Donflamingo and Kaido. I think you are correct if we even count newer warlord additions, we can had Law and can expect arcs for Buggy and Blackbeard
@@dimitrisdallas4306 but that is only natural, because they hold the highest power for the people to see
@@pablobuquet2534 yeah it is true but i think the original comment talked about having a backstory for these characters. We had backstory for Boa, Kuma, Donflamingo, Jinbe and kind of experienced Crocodile and Moria. Maybe we are owed a backstory for Mihawk too.
Bucaneer have insane regeneration power and the Elders incorporated it to their bodies. That's why Kuma regains part of himself and Saturn's hatred to Kuma
that'd at least explain the melting your face of - oh but it actually did nothing moment with akainu
no it's bs. Bucaneer know about Nika that's why Gorosei hate Kuma
nah
When have we ever seen Kuma regenerate himself? Regeneration and consciousness are 2 different things…
9:27
I think this happens because whatever character can regenerate wouldn’t bother trying to defend themselves because any damage won’t matter cause they can regenerate
I'd love to see a similar sentiment communicated to this elder with the alien name, Saturn.
kizaru was on the edge of a redemption then he jumped straight out of it

Two possibilites for the Buster Call Thingy as I see it:
First: Egghead gets blowed up.
Or throw him in the ocean?
I think they are for dragon to kill instead.
I really hope saturn dies this arc
The perfect opportunity for Blackbeard to swoop in, eliminate them, take their fruit (if any), and tilt the power scales in his favor.
@@babrad that would actually be perfect it sets him up to be a formidable antagonist as well
I like how the story handled the punch. We got Kuma's big cathartic moment, it actually did something, it didn't take out Saturn and undermine the threat he poses, AND it allowed for worldbuilding on the buccaneers, Saturn's powers, and vegapunk's morals themselves.
Soooo…. Where is the giant robot, that awakened like 50 Chapters ago?
In a Buster Call, always bet on Robin.
And the Straw hats
"The Navy's Buster Call, get rid of 99.9% of your problems with one golden snail!"
(ineffective against strawhat pirates, side effects may include being included)
Even with the help of 100 Marine Navy Battleships.
And just like that Sanji is back to #3. He kicked a celestial dragon. Once all is said and done, it’s back the monster trio.
I feel like we can take it a step further: not only would it inspire the Revolutionary Army of Kuma punching one of the Five Elders, but if Kuma were to die, then the news would enrage and send the two parties into a Civil War, possibly having the Straw Hats attention.
Saturn pressed the button.
Saturn got destroyed.
I accept that as self-destruction, nothing to blame on Vegapunk.
One thing I didn't fully grasp until a marine pointed it out in the chapter is that this is a slave, the lowest form of life on the planet, striking one of the Elder Stars, the most powerful known humans on the planet.
Kizaru is a wild card, I’m still unsure if he will switch sides
Kizaru is sanji's admiral match up he not switching sides his justice is pretty much just following orders justice.
Honestly i think the shift to regenerative powers is gonna be a nice change of pace after the tank-fest that was wano.
Someone on reddit wrote that Saturn mentioning insects more times than usual is an epic foreskinning to how he will be de"feet"ed.
Luffy in G5 form going giant and stomping on him like the spider demon old man hybrid he is
Saturn’s fruit is giving Marco’s a run for his money 😂
I think its looking better than marco's healing
Liam you upload at the worst times it’s 5:30 in Detroit
With that being said thank you for daily injections of one piece content please never change
"Sanji has a habit of cooking for rats".....Mice. They are mice, not rats. Trust me, not even Oda can make rats look nice.
If Bonney hadn’t absorbed Kuma’s memory bubble wouldn’t Kuma have technically had an opportunity to return to “normal”? Assuming he doesn’t die or become physically destroyed beyond repair?
So true, didn't even think of that@Axlplayz14
Also things seeming to appear and disappear is definitely consistent with lightspeed (kinda) powers
The Buster Call isn't smth we're afraid of anymore, i am sure 3 of the Straw Hats could deal with it with ease, especially Zoro, Sanji & Usopp, but something tells me, that they will run away, as usual. End of Discussion.
3rd times the charm... Right?? Right??😂🤣
i think even nami could deal with the buster call.. just have zeus have a go at all these ships, they cant shoot a cloud, can they? maybe they have seastone-canonballs though, that might be a problem.. other than that marine ships are a joke 😅
Plus the Ancient robot has woken up. It'll probably protect Egghead.
But it is not your normal buster call. There 20 battleships not 10 with 80 additional navy ships. There are 30.000 Marin Soldiers led by 9 vice admirals not 5. and there is an admiral and an elder Star leading them all. That is like the power of a 3 buster calls
@@Namenlos-fo1ek still not a threat. Remember Fishman Island?
I've been thinking for a while, what if the reason why kizaru is still carrying out his mission despite he's confliction is because he's locked in some sort of demon contract that you HAVE to do. Maybe the only way out of that contract is death.
I hope Sanji will fight Kizaru
Probably to soon yet. But some day he will
My guess (or theory) gonna be that Blackbeard either gonna get:
A. Saturn's Zoan devil fruit, so he will have all three type of Devil Fruits,
B. Kizaru died and he get his devil fruit, so he'll have both Dark and Light Devil fruits,
C. Kuma died and he get his devil fruit, which will make him more OP than before (hoping not this one)
I personally can’t wait to see what happens. Does Kuma have enough will to recognize Luffy if not how will Bonnie react to Nika
"Gomu Gomu not going to appear in this chapter"
I think how they will animate that punch, because...
1. Kuma appeared in front of Saturn with the punch pose
2. Saturn speak a lot in these ~0.5 seconds
3. The punch hits
It's a mistake made by Oda.
@@M8V3N187 when was Saturn shown to be fast or have the ability to disappear into the ground?
