GOSH WHAT A VOICE!!, this guy is a genious in what he does, he basically covers the best commercial track styles and put it as a comedy but still having the vital elements to make it to the top...seriously what a voice and musician
"...crying GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDD" *bam* mind = blown. Goddammit that guy can sing. Amazing how Ylvis can make parodies that are actually better than most 'normal' songs within a genre.
Damn I love those Guys! You both made my day for so many times! I work as a paramedic in Germany and listen to your music in the ambulance with a smile on my face!
These folks are so talented... it's amazing. I am so glad the silly spoof, What the Fox Says, became a worldwide hit. I am enjoying all of their varied styles - music, singing, comedy, acting, talk show, tricks... Carry on Ylvis!!
These guys are great. Not many can combine such intelligent fun, perfect imitation of a musical style up to the smallest detail and all the cliches: the harmonizer effect of the electric guitar during the solo, the solo itself, the "a capella part", the acoustic introduction, the voice impostation, the lyrics (only that instead of glorifying brute force they mock it). It's just perfect!! Great production too. I wonder who they hired for the solo.. As someone down there commented, it really makes me want to learn Norwegian just to see their shows.
Ignacio Francisco Ramírez not to break your bubble, but they have stopped sending thier show. and all of the songs they make was for the talkshow they had
@@snurlesprutt4232 Well, yeah. They stopped sending their show so they could focus on inventing a new genre of television, the musical documentary, with Stories from Norway, so it's not like they stopped making music videos.
The best thing is that it's not supposed to be serious song, but it still beats the shit out of nowadays "artists" like Lil Wayne, Nicky Minaj, Justin Bieber etc. :)
Haha! This comment nails it so completely! (But I find Justin Bieber a very good singer. And he has some fantastic songs...) Thanks for this wonderful comment! And. Thumbs up for Egeland!
It might not be aimed to be a serious song, but apposed to today's musicians who only sing about the size of their genitals and the amount of drugs they take, this song at least has something to say: It honors a great man who (although not as overdone as in the song) works as hard as he can to regain peace on this earth
BoarhideGaming very true, its nice to see a good song like this dedicated to someone who actually deserves the recognition, I would rather see more songs like this than some girl singing a generic song about an ex boyfriend or songs ofnhe "shake yo bootay" variety
I bet that every politician world wide would wish they had Ylvis running their campaign... I know this was just for a joke, but it would have been such a great strategy if he was trying to get somewhere...
Simply the best of Ylvis' songs imo. And incidentally if you don't think this thing is justified, ready the guy's life story. It's legitimately insane. Hats off to the group and the subject.
SHA8UTIE Well depends on how high can he go in falsetto but I see your logic. The whole chorus part is just impressive overal, just that falsetto note caught me off guard, wasn't expecing that.

Alohappyface Paulpen Hehe no problem :) Yes indeed they did, and a while after they even played the song live at a UN employee party if im not mistaken.
What i like about this is that 200-300 years from now (assuming we last that long) some random kids on the internet will rediscover this video and be so damn curious about who this person was that they'll look him up. All the other politicians and world leaders will be relegated to literal history books and for the most part lost to history. But because this guy's done such a good job that comedians made an epic song about him that's not just them ripping into the politician (which face it, most deserve...), the kids'll either look him up, or bring it up with history teachers just out of curiousity.

Brett Miller As Shaggy once said : "Wasn't me".
Random Peon Hi, America here! :D
they are awesome and their voices are perfect, they dont sing something mainstream like every1 else, that's the real talent.. to have voices like these and to make people happy at the same time..every1 should respect these guys!
I agree with you beautiful girl!!!!
Agreed, You're hot as shit.. had to point that out.
Got my wife of 50 years hooked on these guys. She couldn't stand the The Fox song but I convinced her to listen to some of the others. She's addicted now and loves everything they do from the train horn on the electric car to Mass without produce.... They are amazing,
I mean, the fox isnt their best, as much as furries deserve a hit.
I can relate to yue wife...
If I was Jan Egeland, I would listen to this every morning before going to work. Would get so fucking pumped.
Teacher: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Me: Jan Egeland.
@Zih Vil you know yogis isn’t his name
GOSH WHAT A VOICE!!, this guy is a genious in what he does, he basically covers the best commercial track styles and put it as a comedy but still having the vital elements to make it to the top...seriously what a voice and musician
Jan Egeland is 60 years old today. Happy birthday Mister Egeland ! Our world needs the United nations superhero man.
It could be one of the greatest rock songs of all time but...
"...crying GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDD" *bam* mind = blown. Goddammit that guy can sing. Amazing how Ylvis can make parodies that are actually better than most 'normal' songs within a genre.
Amen to that.
Damn I love those Guys! You both made my day for so many times! I work as a paramedic in Germany and listen to your music in the ambulance with a smile on my face!
It’s been at least 5 years since I’ve seen an Ylvis video. And I can say for sure “you’re as beautiful as the day I lost you”
" you discover the value of things when you loose them"
I always come back to hear they again and again.... I Wish they do a rock CD =(
These folks are so talented... it's amazing. I am so glad the silly spoof, What the Fox Says, became a worldwide hit. I am enjoying all of their varied styles - music, singing, comedy, acting, talk show, tricks... Carry on Ylvis!!
Vegard's vocals amaze me everytime ❤
3:53 wtf his voice is actually so good
These guys are great.
Greatest song ever.
This is unironically a good song.
Glade i got on the random Ylvis train tonight, this is such a banger. 10 year old nostalgia
Like seriously, I'm so impressed by his voice.
we need Jan Egeland more than ever
The best thing is that it's not supposed to be serious song, but it still beats the shit out of nowadays "artists" like Lil Wayne, Nicky Minaj, Justin Bieber etc. :)
Haha! This comment nails it so completely! (But I find Justin Bieber a very good singer. And he has some fantastic songs...) Thanks for this wonderful comment! And. Thumbs up for Egeland!
It might not be aimed to be a serious song, but apposed to today's musicians who only sing about the size of their genitals and the amount of drugs they take, this song at least has something to say:
It honors a great man who (although not as overdone as in the song) works as hard as he can to regain peace on this earth
***** ;)
BoarhideGaming very true, its nice to see a good song like this dedicated to someone who actually deserves the recognition, I would rather see more songs like this than some girl singing a generic song about an ex boyfriend or songs ofnhe "shake yo bootay" variety
1349Ravn EXACTLY MY POINT!
This must be the greatest gift anyone can give to somebody a song dedicated.
I bet that every politician world wide would wish they had Ylvis running their campaign...
I know this was just for a joke, but it would have been such a great strategy if he was trying to get somewhere...
If this was made in order to promote Jan Egeland then, I think, it would be much less awesome. True an genuine gives an incredible amount of value.
We really need a Jan Egeland just about now!
This is great. Thanks Michael Davis
Only Jan Egeland can stop the Wars that are unfortunately happening now, send this Man there. Ylvis you guys wrote a masterpiece.
Unironically still one of my absolute favourite songs!
same!
Simply the best of Ylvis' songs imo. And incidentally if you don't think this thing is justified, ready the guy's life story. It's legitimately insane. Hats off to the group and the subject.
3:51 - Crying Goooooooooooooood! Perfect perfect perfect.
Be Still! Still Peace, thank you once again for this song " Jan Egeland. "
Is there something ylvis can't sing? That note at 3:52 was just killer.
And also, all the power metal cliches are present!
exactly
The note at 3:52 is actually pretty easy. The note at 3:40 is more impressive... Hard to hit that note that full and heavy.
SHA8UTIE Well depends on how high can he go in falsetto but I see your logic. The whole chorus part is just impressive overal, just that falsetto note caught me off guard, wasn't expecing that.
He look voice lessons growing up and is a fantastic singer. His brother can sing as well.
FUN FACT: Jan Egeland himself saw this for the first time at a UN meeting :)
really? what was his reaction? I'm just curious he he he
Alohappyface Paulpen He spoke about it when he was a guest at the Ylvis talkshow, i dont remember exactly what he said, but hes a cool guy and he thinks its funny :)
Jonathan Reite so.. they did invite him to their show. Haha! Thanks for answering.
Alohappyface Paulpen Hehe no problem :) Yes indeed they did, and a while after they even played the song live at a UN employee party if im not mistaken.
+Alohappyface Paulpen "Egeland's response, in an e-mail to NPR, was "I think it is hilarious with its crazy text and great tune."" - Wikipedia
This is the best thing I've ever heard in my life. Queen + Monty Python = Ylvis
This is one of the greatest music videos I've ever seen.
'Continue'.
All jokes aside, this is probably one of the best rock songs I have ever heard. Pumping it through the speakers all day long.
these guys are really, really talented!
I still come here after all these years... I did not know anything about Jan Egeland and all I know now is from this song.
3:52 is crazy! So cool!!!
