With the dustilled water, look into buying a simple reverse osmosis (RO) kit and water filter kit (like you have under your sink for filtered water). Those filters ( I have 3 filters) will remove dirt and sediment, chlorine and smells and metal minerals. After that run through the RO unit. That will solve your issue. You can then make your own clean water. Hope it helps.
If I may had some details (I'm working for an industrial water company named Veolia) : you have to put a charcoal filter before the reverse osmosis membrane. It will remove chlorine that is bad for your membrane. And for the fitlers (10" or 20") before I recommand 20µm, 5µm Charcoal and a 1µm filter and the water should be extra clean and used for a larger scale.
Deionised doesn't have the minerals removed. The point of using distilled is that it has no dissolved minerals, and so doesn't form scale buildup. Deionised is usually more readily available because it's cheaper to produce.

Im getting BIG auto-x vibes with the compound rips in the evo. You should go do some local events. Its a great way to hone in throttle and steering control that carries over to track driving. There is a saying within SCCA " auto-x'ers make great track drivers, and track drivers make mediocre auto crossers.

I remember when I had my evo 5 8yrs ago. Had about 600awhp on the stock block and this was super fun! When I took her to the drag strip sometimes I'd smoke all 4 wheels on the launch. These can be an easy low 10s or high 9sec car at this power level. I'd Definitely recommend a screamer on the wastegate, sounds so spicy.

My 20 year old son took me for a ride in his evo 3 street sprint today as he just had it tuned down to about 300kw believe it or not. I have never been in a car with that much acceleration before - it was insane at only half throttle. He built most of the car himself and has done an amazing job. His mother wants to go for a ride in couple of days ... this is gonna be hilarious.
