I don’t blame him one bit. Cubs want World Series, all the brewers care about is winning divisions. We have the cheapest owner in baseball. Doesn’t spend money on key players to make a long post season stretch. And council knew that the brewers were not going to do anything. Our entire organization is a dumpster fire. Wasn’t a fan of council either, but sometimes you gotta change things up for a organization that cares.

The Brewers HAVE to try to stay good presently while also making sure they will be good in the future with cheap controllable players. You must not remember what the Brewers organization used to be like with an even cheaper owner, absolutely no winning at all - forget about playoffs, and a REAL poverty franchise. Now this team is a consistent winner, usually in the playoffs, and has young controllable players who will remain with the team for awhile. They also signed Hoskins this offseason who was one of the more expensive free agent signings. If you want to see some actual cheap teams look at the Marlins and the Athletics.

Honestly it was time for him to leave. He was not going to take the team further than he already has. 1 playoff series win and that was in 2018 and a bunch of regular season games is all. Also Brewers ownership is not committed to going further. Just enough to keep fans content is all. It might be better for the Brewers that he is managing the most wealthy team in the division.
Nice short Ryan. While Craig Counsell has every right to do what he did he will also get the treatment going to one of the Brewers biggest rivals the Cubs. But I also kind of hopes he gets a standing ovation for what he did in Milwaukee his hometown before leaving No he didn’t get Milwaukee back to the World Series but he left the Brewers a lot better than when he arrived
I am so happy for Craig to have this opportunity to make a legitimate run for the world series. I enjoyed his time with the brewers, however I believe that he took that organization as far as they were capable. I am so proud of Craig for not getting sucked into this idea of "once a brewer, always a brewer." No organization "cares" about their people as much as they want us to believe. Anybody with any intelligence can see how this makes so much sense. One is Craig has a bunch more money and "opportunity with resources " that is just a little stretch down the road and the cubs organization says "we must have our biggest threat come be on our side." Anyone that cant see things this way can go watch a sausage race and wonder why it is so difficult to park at the brewers home games. Kinda sad
