Stellaris: Utopia brings even greater depth and variety to a game already celebrated for its story-telling power and near endless possibilities. Are you ready for perfection?
One of the core improvements in Utopia is the introduction of Ascension Perks. As your species advances and gains new traditions, it can choose how it wants to evolve as it is further enlightened. You can choose between a biological path, a psionic path or a synthetic path, with various options within these broad categories. Body, Mind or Machine - how will your species challenge the future?
Utopia Also Includes:
Megastructures: Build wondrous structures in your systems including Dyson Spheres and ring worlds, bringing both prestige and major advantages to your race.
Habitat Stations: Build “tall” and establish space stations that will house more population, serving the role of planets in a small and confined empire.
Rights and Privileges: Set specific policies for which of the many species under your thumb will have the rights and privileges of full citizenship. Build an egalitarian paradise or follow a caste system.
And even more improvements and updates, including (as is traditional with all of our paid content releases) free updates for every Stellaris owner!
I literally had more or less this scenario play out in my last game. One of the neighboring empires discovered a ruined Dyson Sphere. Initially, I had plans to conquer it, but was forced to put those plans on hold after the Grey Tempest event occurred. For a while, I straight up forgot about the Dyson Sphere. Eventually, my empire completed its Strategic Coordination Center. As a result, my fleet capacity improved massively and was followed by a massive increase in military spending as a commissioned hundreds of new ships. However, the massive new fleet that I had built put significant strain on my energy output, leading to impending financial collapse. I needed a quick source of energy to stabilize my economy.
That's when I got the message, informing me that the other empire had finally completed its project to restore the Dyson Sphere. Well... the convenient timing was not lost on me. I mobilizes my massive, expanded navy and declared war on the empire to seize its Dyson Sphere. Little did I know, the empire had powerful friends. This resulted in me getting sucked into a war with a federation which included 2 of the most powerful members of the galactic community.
While it was a relatively short war, it was still a bloody one. With my fleet having to expend ships to keep the Dyson Sphere empire's allies from reinforcing it in the main theater of operations. In the end, I won, at a heavy cost. But it was worth it.

yes and if you read the book utopia (title that gave rise to the term utopia) you will realize that the book makes a satirize the idea of the perfect place in other words utopia and a joke that did not have to be taken seriously
For the longest time I thought the "u" in utopia was a truncated form of the greek prefix "eu-", so I thought it translated to a "good place". It'd also be more antithetical to the term dystopia that way. Words are weird man.
@@jksarefunny That is part of the joke, "utopia" is meant to sound like "good place" when it means "no-place", because they look good at first, but once you look deeper into it, they don't deliver on their promises.

To everyone arguing in comments about who won: If you pay attention to every stellaris trailers you'll see the Commonwealth won this war. After that the federation got assimilated by their own robots (watch the Synthetic Dawn trailer), and they got their ass kicked by other empires. Later the CoE went to a revenge war against the horde alongside the UNE (Apocalypse console edition trailer).
When a company can make an entire two minute ad based off of the Reddit community.
God damn I still come back and watch this trailer sometimes. I wish every paradox trailer was this good.
On my last playthrough as rogue servitors an empire (including its vassals) controlling nearly 40% of a large galaxy declared total war on me. Only about six months before the contingency had arrived and I was barely able to build up additional fleets to keep from being completely overrun fighting a two front war. I was running a deficit of nearly 1000 EC every month for about 10 years until I spotted a dyson sphere that was sitting only three hyperlanes away from my main ingress into their space. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone! After grabbing their dyson the tide immediately turned, my economy was now firmly out of the red and I'd crippled the empire that made up about 30% of my enemies' naval strength. Ended up conquering about 90% of their space and well over a thousand biotrophies while kicking out the contingency with my freed up fleets.
Progress. Peace.

Yes there is - Download the ship sets to go with it, and screen UI ect sub mods which dont come with the main mod. You can play anything on this game as there is a mod for everything. I prefer star trek but you have star wars as well. Very detailed gaming chaning mods that are better than the base game.

No. In the game, the Commonwealth of Man (The fanatically Militarist Xenophobic lost colonists who left Earth a century prior to the start date 2200) uses Wormhole Stations in order to go FTL. This is because the United Nations of Earth (The fanatically Egalitarian Xenophiles who united Earth a little over a century prior to the start date 2200) was testing out new FTL Methods for the "Ulysses Initiative". They used wormholes, but then all five ark ships vanished without a trace, and so the UNE abandoned them and took to work on the Warp Drive.
Meanwhile, one of these ships landed on a planet called Unity, where the Commonwealth of Man was founded.

F*** me! How does an indie gaming studio like this just kill it with these super sick trailers? Some of the best I've ever seen. Utopia is well worth the $20 price tag by the way, and if you were kind of on the fence about Stellaris, this is a great time to jump in. It's the greatest space strategy game ever made.

Сюжет трейлера просто потрясающий! Однако в самой игре все гораздо иначе. Я около 15 раз проходил игру и мне ни разу в галактике не попадалась сфера Дайсона, или к примеру уплотнитель материи, стратегический или научный комплекс. Всё, что мне постоянно попадалось - это бесполезное мегосооружение для дипломатии и такая же бесполезная художественная выставка, за которые особо никто не воюет. Попадался постоянно мир-кольцо по несколько штук и в разном состоянии , но опять же, какой либо серьезной войны из-за него не возникает. Более того мегасооружения в игре ценятся куда меньше, чем в трейлере. Да и часто строить мегасооружение - дело бесполезное. Они не помогают кого то обогнать и превзойти, а лишь усиляют и без того набравшую мощь империю за которую играешь.

"For centuries, our kind have raged war upon each other. From the lonely planet of our home world, we fought over race, recourses, and religion. When our people achieved the power of sailing and flight, we believed it would unite us. Yet we waged war. When our people went to space, we believed that war was left on Earth. War remained with us during the War of Planets. Then it continued in the First and Second Solar War. As a result of this blood shed, we lost millions of lives and 2 satellite moons on Saturn and Mars. We owe it to the species to achieve peace. We owe it to our children and our children's children, to end the blood shed. As our galactic neighbors pitied us, we assassinated peace makers and world leaders just to gain another asteroid of iron. Is this our destiny? Are we to end our own species over resources? Is the cost of humanity worth an extra credit on the market? No! Never again! I bring forth a proposal. Not for the sake of the Earth Union. Not for the Mars Federation or the Saturn Confederacy, for the sake of humanity. We all, as descendants of Earth, owe it to our own species, to put down the weapons of death and embrace each other with a shared pain. We have all lost loved ones in the Wars of Humanity. We must end this now. Let the future generations of our species tell the Galaxy for centuries to come, that when no star shined upon humanities future, the human race shined brightest together.
