      Ok, that cracks me up! I've sometimes, accidentally, written out my name as "God" and didn't change it. So, the end of an email could read... "Thanks, God"... lol.

      Brian G Johnson TV I've figured it out.... Gord is the Bob Ross of TH-cam. His delivery is so calm and collected, and his content incredibly valuable. Only thing missing is the afro. #prettylittlegreenscreen

      Hilarious... thanks for the compliment... numerous people have told me that! Lol... I did have afro, but that was when I was a teen. Now, I'm lucky to have the few white hairs that remain.

      Glad you enjoyed it! There's so much creatively that one can do with even just clip speed. I put in all the examples to suggest ideas on how to benefit.

      Thank-you Naomi. It's interesting how so many elements come together in the orchestration of an edit, and clip speed is just one of the tools to make it happen.

    You teach me lot of things.. thank you very much.... I want to 9 that in camtesia 9 I don't shrink project boundary like camtesia 8... It will shrink from all side to maintain aspect ratio.. I want to shrink it from right side boundary but not uper, left and bottom boundary of my project in canvas... Tx in advance.. plz give answer this question

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under Project Settings -> Canvas Dimensions -> Custom, then you can set the exact dimensions yourself. Another way is to put on the timeline the media that has the desired dimension you want, and then the canvas dimension will adjust to those values. Remember, if you play with the dimensions and some of your media don't fit, you may need to adjust the scale of the media once you put it onto the canvas. I hope this helps.

      situ situ , sorry, I don’t quite understand. Why don’t you send me an email with a few pictures or post a video showing me the feature you are referring to. You can always post a video unlisted on TH-cam and share the link with me. Once I “see” what you mean, I’m sure I can help.

    Hi, your video is so well-made and informative. I always benefit from them. I am trying to use clip speed the first time and don't might speed up both the video and audio to make the entire video shorter. However, when I added clip speed and set audio to be 1.1x, I heard two voices. Do you know why and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Julie, did you separate the audio from the video and then put the clip speed on both tracks? If so, you need to be sure that the Clip Speed is the same on both the audio and the video track, or I can see the possibility of hearing an echoed voice. Remember, if you speed up the video, you'll have the voice (and ambient sound) sped up too. I hope this helps. If not, feel free to provide me more detail if I'm misunderstanding.

    • @jiezhouli
      @jiezhouli 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GordIsman Gord, you are exactly right. It seems that I entered the speed in the audio tab instead of the video tab. When I entered it in the video part, it works greatly. Thank you so much for the direction.

    Great video - quick question: Is there any setting for the transition speed between clips of different speed? Thanks

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, you can set the length of the transition by dragging the end of the transition element to the left or right. Setting this length affects the speed of the transition. If you want to control each side of the transition independently, be sure the adjacent clips aren't touching when you add the transition - add it to each media. Then, you can adjust the length on each side independentl of the other. Be sure you slide the clips together for execution test. Let me know how that works out.

      @@GordIsman I think I didn't explain myself properly. Imagine three clips. The first one has 1x speed, the second 2x speed and the third 1x speed. I want to smoothly go from 1x to 2x. Its pretty abrupt at present - is there any way to temper or adjust the "ramp" in and out of different clip speeds. Thanks.

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, now I get it. I've dealt with that issue before. Take the 2x speed clip and cut it into sections. Let's say you did it into 5 sections - or whatever number will work. I would use Clip speed and apply it to the first 4 sections as follows. First section, set a Clip of .75, so it's 3/4 of the full 2x, set the clip speed of the next one at 0.85, and then the third at 0.95, and then fourth at 1.0 - normal speed (i.e. the 2x). This way, you graduated the speed increase to 2.0. I hope that it's not confusing for you but this works. Play with the number of segments and size of them and the clip speed to get something that works for you. Let me know if you get it to work? Note, Camtasia doesn't have as advanced capabilities as some other editors whereby you can speed ramp more cleanly, but there's ways to hack it, like I've explained here.

      @jrustyshaffer5438 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GordIsman Got it. Thanks. I'll try that. It would be nice if camtasia added a "fade/transition" to the speed clip feature - that's all that would be needed. Thanks again - take care.

    4:24 HOW DID U DO THAT?!

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I hope this answers your question. As you saw, the clip had the "Clip Speed" Visual Effect added to it, but I now wanted to change the speed of the middle section - defined by me. To work on the middle section I need to detach it from the clip content around it. I need to make two cuts to get the middle piece - one at a start point, and one at an end point. So, I found the spot where I wanted to start for increasing the speed by moving the playhead there, and then I did a "cut" (use the scissor tool, or from the menu: File -> Split Selected). Then, I move the play head to the end and did a similar cut for the endpoint. Now you have the middle separated, and as I show onscreen, you can then slide the Clip Speed bar to the left to quicken up that timing. Once you're done, move the pieces together again by clicking and dragging them on the timeline.

      @@GordIsman yes I read that I needed a mathematical formula script to keep the pitch at the same key but more complicated to do this with camtasia while with others like adobe premiere or sony vegas we can do this. otherwise there is also shotcut which allows to do this (free) but too complex compared to simple slides moved by the mouse. thanks for your answer ;)
