Thank you Scott for the tour of Headwater Forest Reservation; I didn't get a chance to visit when I was in Humboldt a few months ago. The little guy on the miniature tire hanging from the tree was adorable! I agree that Sequoia Park is the most beautiful city park. I stayed a few blocks from there when I was in Eureka. It's a magical place. I did not go on the skywalk because being that high up especially on a suspended bridge terrifies me. 😩😬. I'm so glad you touched on Eureka's reputation as the most dangerous city in Humboldt County. Every time I tell someone I want to move there, I hear "why? It's crime ridden". Eureka "calls" to me like no other city in CA has ever done. My plan is to move there in the next year or so. I do need to start researching neighborhoods because I don't know which are considered bad and don't want to end up in one with higher crime. I have heard that the Cutten and Myrtletown and those away from the 101 corridor are the safest. Probably the most expensive too. Thanks for sharing your day with us, Scott. I really love these day in your life videos.
It's a very small community in general. The bad areas are just centered around parts of the city and waterfront. It's an amazing place though, Humboldt is. And always has been.

We have a similar redwood park outside Rotorua New Zealand, I agree with you when traversing 23 bridges, cargo nets plus 3 flying foxes, ending with the leap of faith attached to rope being the quickest way to the bottom. Never been more terrified in my life. Once I was up there and several other people behind me there was nowhere else to go but to keep going. Be careful what you get talked into
I love the Headwaters. Even the parking lot is amazing. Sequoia Park is amazing also. It has changed quite a bit since the 60's. The Skywalker is a big change! I understand that the road to the duck pond is open again! I need to check it out.
Very enjoyable walk-I love the Redwoods as well. You did a great job showing their height 👍 Thanks for showing where to camp in the city. I find it to be my biggest challenge! I have a minivan & a dog.
I'm not sure how I found your channel but I'm glad I did! I live in Humboldt and I used to work at the care home that you parked next to..lol I've been here my whole life and I love every moment I get to be here! And I think you summed it up perfectly when you were talking about the good and not so good areas. It's cool to see people experience Humboldt and feel just how special it is here!

Scott if ur hair is graying that could be what is making your scalp itch. That is the site of the last protests confronting the logging Co. and stopping the destruction of the big trees. I am glad you found my favorite flower garden by the zoo with all the Dahlias. Lovely video! I don't like zoos or aquariums. I have to thank you again for the tip of using bronner's hand lotion on one's hair! I've spent A LOT OF MONEY over the years trying to find something that works for my hair and nothing ever does. The Bronner's is amazing!!!🙋🏻♀️
Excellent video. Always love the hygiene tips. You want to learn about camping watch the experts. Very creative hair care tips. Dr. Bronner’s rocks. Hard to find good deals on bulk sizes.
Soooo nice Scott , I was there in Eureka during my 14 year full-time Adventure and let me tell you that place was very interesting, I think I stayed in the WinCo parking lot there and the Walmart with the encampment right beside it and they sure did put on a show😂 I am currently looking out my window of my new place after leaving the Big Bear Lake area I have a view of the mountain however it's flaming😢 I am so blessed right now to have utilities with central air all the things that I did not have for 14 years❤ the adjustment is a slow process for me as I go to my storage near Palm Springs as soon as it's cool enough to do so😂 it's all about flames smoke and praying that the Santa Ana winds don't start, there have been many fires along the way and Nomads cannot always just drive away from everything, because sometimes it's in all directions and that's the hard part Scott.. meantime back to my chai tea and watching the rest of this video ❤ Line Fire 😢
What a beautiful walk! I love my coffee beans ground too, and I would like to find a hand grinder too. Baking soda wash and apple cider vinegar rinse are fabulous for a once a week hair washing and will take any itch away!
Frying your corn tortilla you can also fry a flour tortilla throw it right on your flame right on your burner. Take your tongs and just keep flipping it until you get it or you want it which you can get it nice and crispy.
Thank you for making your video s. I really appreciate them You are real and alot of people are fake fake fake! You are doing for the west coast what Willard Scott did for florida! Make people aware of the wonders and people will flock there The fact that you don't make some connection is part of your charm Hate to pin up animals myself Keep it up Still wish you could try stone tower joe coffee So many wonderfully bags of beans not enough time to sample them all

It's fun watching you wander around my hometown 🙂 If you like Sequoia Park, you should check out Redwood Park over in Arcata. It's significantly larger, so if you want a longer hike with lots of hills, Redwood Park is lovely too ❤
Bro, if you already left here, you missed the biggest festival of the year by a week! The North Country Fair has some of the most diverse music & dance from all over the world, and most authentic Hippie culture anywhere. But you're mobile, so you can come back any time!
You can dissolve a few aspirin in the water you wash your hair with. The salicylic acid helps with itching. It's safe for the shower too. Your calm voice is wonderful. I have severe anxiety disorder. I live in the mountains but we are actually under tropical storm warnings. I'm not used to this and I'm really scared. You are calm in the storm, thank you!!
I only use distilled water for everything. I used to have the worst skin. Then, I started showering in distilled water. Over two years now, I couldn't imagine going back to toilet water showers.
@@StaticCamperVan We keep ours in the original pamphlet in the glovebox under the car instruction manual so there's something nice and thick and flat right above it.
The parks (and drive to & from) and garden were gorgeous! Nice to be able to play the day by ear if you want instead of needing to stick to a plan. Seeing you use that Staub fry pan made me wonder if it has become your favorite or if you still have a preference for the DeBuyer pan. The Staub definately seems easier to maintain.
It depends on what I’m cooking. The de Buyer is much better for eggs, which I’ve been eating a lot of lately. Definitely like having both of pans. I should cover this in a video at some point
Funny as I was watching this, I was like I haven’t missed this one at all. I had seen it before. But I was looking at it from a different device popped up as though I’ve never seen it before. Which is all good great the first time around just as great the second time around:-)
Thx so much for the Sequoia Park tip…while visiting Eureka area checked it out ..what a gem…here’s one for you…most beautiful camping…Hwy 36 to Carlotta area…County Park/ Swimmers Delight….kinda pricey…so worth it! Luv your travels…
Hi, so I rented one of these little vans for my vacation starting in a few of weeks. It's just an empty van but I've picked up a pad to sleep on, a couple of water jugs and stuff to cook on, a small bluetti and a national park pass. Lots of other little stuff. I figure I'll either find out that this is not for me as a solo traveler or maybe it'll be a goal to get myself set up with a comfy little rig for mini road trips throughout the year until I retire (which may never happen....hahaha). I live on the Oregon coast and I know you've mentioned some problems finding places to stay in Oregon. I think I'll head toward Mt Shasta down I-5. Probably a night at Crater Lake. Do you have any suggestions of nice places to park along that way? I think I'll be scared my first night or so but after that I'll probably get more comfortable. This park looks beautiful. I think maybe a visit for the next trip. kl
That’s a very good way to try out vanlife. There are lots of friendly towns along the Oregon coast. But more and more places are becoming a bit unfriendly to tourists who don’t stay in their hotels. I’ve always liked Florence. I’ve been told Coos Bay is good as well. I hope you have a fun trip!
I'm living in Eureka in a van, and I rent a sewing srudio. Im commenting before watching your video. It is both amazing and beautiful here and devastatingly sad in more recent times. It was so unique in the 80d and 90s, not to mention the 60s and 70s.This area is absolutely phenomenal, so it's quite a shame. And it's due to drugs and California's extremely liberal policies. BTW, I fought for Headwaters back in the day!
Lost Coast landslide can be seen if you search for it. I remember your video there. the landslide is where you use to park and have coffee and walk the trails. It's gone

@@StaticCamperVanI wish I could ! I have a 22-inch suitcase and it’s been difficult even closing it. I don’t know if I will ever find a better coffee drink in the U.S. It has been colder and windy here so I’m looking forward to my return and turning my gas fireplace on!
@@JBLegal09It’s incredible. My morning walk to Cafe Nero will be missed. Why doesn’t the U.S. make these? Starbuck’s does…but theirs is horrible.😊
Cool, thanks for mentioning that
Excellent video. Always love the hygiene tips. You want to learn about camping watch the experts. Very creative hair care tips. Dr. Bronner’s rocks. Hard to find good deals on bulk sizes.
Thank you. namaste. Sending good vibes your way.
Thanks for taking us along on your travels.
Wow Scott 🤩 thats a Beautiful Park! 🏞️🌄😍🌟🌅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Mr Bookman says just get some Folger's crystals, throw it in the cubbard, and forget about it. Gotta love the library cop.
You've inspired me to get out of my sewing studio.
BTW, have you been to the Arcata Community Forest?
Yes, I love it there
Keep producing your videos. Very calming and insightful. Ken from Fla.
Thanks Ken. If you keep watching, I’ll keep making
Enjoy your evening
Thanks, you as well
What a beautiful walk! I love my coffee beans ground too, and I would like to find a hand grinder too.
Baking soda wash and apple cider vinegar rinse are fabulous for a once a week hair washing and will take any itch away!
living the dream
Frying your corn tortilla you can also fry a flour tortilla throw it right on your flame right on your burner. Take your tongs and just keep flipping it until you get it or you want it which you can get it nice and crispy.
I haven’t been making flour tortillas for a while now. I feel like corn tortillas are better for me
Thank you for making your video s. I really appreciate them
You are real and alot of people are fake fake fake!
You are doing for the west coast what Willard Scott did for florida!
Make people aware of the wonders and people will flock there
The fact that you don't make some connection is part of your charm
Hate to pin up animals myself
Keep it up
Still wish you could try stone tower joe coffee
So many wonderfully bags of beans not enough time to sample them all
Thx 4 the beautiful sites I can't thank u enough .Currently stuck here in AZ 4 awhile possibly another year n 1/2 and I miss PNW so much and cant afford a trip home..
Wishing you all the best to make it back soon
It's fun watching you wander around my hometown 🙂 If you like Sequoia Park, you should check out Redwood Park over in Arcata. It's significantly larger, so if you want a longer hike with lots of hills, Redwood Park is lovely too ❤
gtreat vog on travels keep up the vlogs thanks lee
Very good episode young man❤
Bro, if you already left here, you missed the biggest festival of the year by a week! The North Country Fair has some of the most diverse music & dance from all over the world, and most authentic Hippie culture anywhere. But you're mobile, so you can come back any time!
Love your style! I am trying to gain insight into camping like you do! I'm very anxious and avoid people!
Think positive thoughts. I hope you get through the storm quickly.
Maybe the fact he is being himself is why he is so calming. I think you got that exactly right!
I only use distilled water for everything. I used to have the worst skin. Then, I started showering in distilled water. Over two years now, I couldn't imagine going back to toilet water showers.
Interesting. I have terrible skin
@@desertgirl1392 definitely give it a try
0:27 access pass holder. I recognize that thing hanging in the window 😊
Found it’s the safest place to keep the holder lest it get lost or broken
@@StaticCamperVan We keep ours in the original pamphlet in the glovebox under the car instruction manual so there's something nice and thick and flat right above it.
Eureka has half the population of town I live in...I so enjoy the beauty and humor you share with us thank you
Nice walk through the Redwood tree's! Careful, Bigfoot might live there lol..
@@StaticCamperVan Thanks for the reply. Hope to see a video covering this topic!
Yay. Frogger.and stunning trees.
Haha I do actually like to hop around
@@StaticCamperVan haaaa
💜 I like hair shower… Catching up on some of these that I’ve missed along the way
Funny as I was watching this, I was like I haven’t missed this one at all.
Oh my
We used to go there and sit in the arbor
🐶🤓🦋
Wow the city park is pretty too. I hope to see that someday!! 🤗🤗
Greeting Scott from Stockholm Sweden
There use to be a great little wine bar right near we’re your staying. Use to be My hometown.
I’ve found Eureka to be one of the safest cities on the west coast
Lost Coast landslide can be seen if you search for it. I remember your video there. the landslide is where you use to park and have coffee and walk the trails. It's gone
Yes, but the other parking lot is still open. I was up there recently th-cam.com/video/2F0ovLYUR_k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oxRcefqGwTDyfZEk
