    I've placed a deposit for my first ever motorcycle, and it will be this very one: the Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark 800. I cannot wait! It felt like a dream sitting on it in the showroom, and your appraisal here gives me so much confidence that I've made the right choice. Thanks for this vid!

    I didn’t think I’d see you on a Scrambler 800 again. Nice one! I really like the Scrambler Flat Track a lot. She has a nice and wide handlebar too. Been riding it for 4 years now and I’m not tired of it. Very nice video bro

    Excellent riding! You show your skill and are still maintaining safety, bravo! I think you also show the great abilities of the Scrambler Icon. Yes, the handlebars, ride position, and relaxed throttle make everything predicable, and then you can just go and have fun - like you are. I love mine. It's a great bike and is so capable of doing many great things. Thank you for posting!

    For riding on road, in my view the narrower bars are better because you need less angle and less input to turn hence the faster turning. That's why the sportbikes have narrow clipons.
    The wide bars are good for riding offroad to make balancing the bike easier on the uneven terrain.

    • @NalinKhurb
      @NalinKhurb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Physics would dictate that a wider handlebar would allow for more lever effect during direction change. Sports bikes also have sharper rake angles which allow them to have smaller handlebars
      What is also important is the wheel size, off road bikes have bigger wheels and they require more force for a change of direction
      To sum up, it's a combination of handlebar width, rake angle and wheel size that determines the amount of force to be applied

  • @LeonardoEngineering
    @LeonardoEngineering 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Novice rider --> novice question: I see a lot of bikers give a quick twist of the throttle when shifting down gears. I thought it was done to ease shifting without pulling the clutch, but I see you pull the clutch. Do you do only for fun or is there a reason why one should do that?

    • @prr49
      @prr49 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s called rev matching ! It makes the rpm’s more similar to the gear you’re downshifting to making it a lot smoother

    • @renevanderkraats3811
      @renevanderkraats3811 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like prr49 said, it's used to match the rpms between gears in the gearbox before releasing the clutch. If you don't, your bike will survive no problem, but it gives a bit of a jolt/jerky motion, and a bit more stress on your driveline that could lessen it's lifespan on the long run.

    • @Schaaf

Der breite Lenker tut dem Bike vermutlich sehr gut. Man könnte das verunglückte Display erwähnen, aber in Summe scheint das Bike Spaß zu machen.

      so on track you choose something like goldwing? probably no, we have lot of different bikes for each purpose, and all of them provide emotions, but they are also functional. Also there are bikes which do not provide anything functional, just fancy stuff. If design is just for design and not solving any problem, but create new ones, then it's stupid, and riding such bike looks like girl on high heels, not functional but looks great. Are you girl who choose suffer to look beautiful?
