Matt's great. I liked him from the beginning. A lot of people were quite hard on him, but he's always sounded great to me. Avi left and people couldn't help but compare them, but that's not fair. Matt isn't the new Avi, he's Matt and he's perfect in this. They lost Avi, but they gained something different and uniquely his own. I'm glad you like him! He's wonderful. They all are! Fun fact, three members of VoicePlay have also known each other since childhood! Geoff, Earl, and Layne all went to school together! They've been singing together for over 20 years!

Couldn’t agree more. He’s not Avi and will never be Avi because he’s Matt. It’s like that Oscar Wilde quote: “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.” And Matt is just himself, great smile, infectious energy. He’s completely different from Avi, and that’s amazing. Absolutely love Matt. I think Matt might be favourite in the new line up (or maybe Mitch. Or Kirstie. Or Scott. Or Kevin. I can’t decide!)

This was when Avi was still part of the group, and all five of them have a part that they sing solo with the others as backup. That performance was amazing, and had an awesome message. I think they really captured John Lennon's meaning behind the song with their video.

I'm gonna request Pentatonix's cover of either a mash-up "New Rules x Are You That Somebody?" because ut shows a "thjng" Pentatonix is known for.. their incredible mashups! Transitions are mind blowing and the bass and beats are so amazing.. tying the two songs together! This one has Matt in it. The other request is for "Bohemian Rhapsody". Mitch takes lead and he has the perfect voice for it. This Video was right before Avi announced he was leaving. The arrangement is spectacular and I sometimes can't wrap my head around how much talent the 5 members of this group have (both with Avi, and now with Matt). They're each very versatile and we hear new things coming from each of them over the past, what, nearly 9 years now? And Matt is a keeper for sure! We got lucky that he was found by Avi and Ben Bram... and that he got tricked into auditioning... because he felt he was far below the skill level of this group and turned down the request he try out. The Trio itself was an Acapella group Kirstin, Mitch and Scott formed in High School. They were doing this new sound instead of traditional acapella and it was with the fervent ideation of what they accomplished when they added Avi and Kevin. Needed that bass and Beatboxing to make it sound fuller.. like singers with instruments playing. They can make instrumental vocalizations (Mitch does a sweet electric guitar solo in Bohemian Rhapsody (sounds the same live too!) but Avi and Kevin... woo! But Mitch and Scott met in Community Theater at age 8 and became best friends. They performed together quite a lot and have been singing as a duo from way back then. Mitch and Kirstie have known each other since attending the same grade school. They both were in community theatre and have been singing together through that and school for a very long time. They even dated briefly. In High School Scott began attending Mitch and Kirstin's high school. Mitch made the introductions and they began singung and hangjng out together. Tge Trio was formed and they arranged Lady Gaga's "Telephone" then performed it durung a school acapella choir concert. Kirstin's friend's brother recorded it and uploaded it to TH-cam. It's still there and those 3 kids were so freaking talented it's sickening! in a good, "I practice and practice and I'll never sound that good! How?!" way (FYI, Mitch was a grade lower than Scott and Kirstie). Credible rumor has it that Kirstie and Scott dated briefly too. A few years back Scott and Mitch finally fessed up to Sup3rfruit fans that they had indeed dated VERY briefly as kids too. They are more like brothers though.. so that went nowhere.. but their friendship is one that we all wish we had with someone. They're amazing young people that dreamed big, worked hard and saw the day their dreams for acapella as a main stream sound realized when Pentatonix was formed. They're trail blazers and choir nerds that are still so humble and very real with their fans. They wanted other groups to be able to follow into mainstream music if they chose to and it's happening! Three-time Grammy award winners this group is! I talked at length about the Trio, and you already know of Avi's mad skills but I haven't touched in Kevin Olusoula, the beatboxer! That guy's a GENIUS in so many ways! He gave up Yale, where he was enrolled to continue his education towards becoming a doctor, to join Pentatonix. Can you imagine?! He's an amazing Cellist and Pentatonix does a few arrangements with Kevin on Cello as it's very important to him. I THINK he played Carnegie Hall at the age of ten and when Scott discovered him on TH-cam he was the Beatboxing Cellist... mind blown! He wanted to learn to sing and I believe Avi gave him voice lessons. He has his own channel "Kevin K.O. Olusoula" and his cover of "Down" is sick! He recently released a single, but "Down" is a better representation of the degree of musical skill he possesses fir getting an acurate introduction to Kevin. Cheers!

Once you're more familiar with PTX, I'd recommend you check out Superfruit, which is Mitch and Scott's side project. It's not a cappella and it's half humor, half music channel, but they do some killer mash-ups and their original songs are amazing. But for now, I'll be happy with any Pentatonix reaction, because you pretty much can't go wrong with them. And I'm very sure you have a lot of requests for them already :).
Yes reactions to that does get taken down. Some things I've seen other reactors do to get around that is to do a lot of pauses as the video progresses, blur out the video, or tinker with the audio. That might help.
Matt definitely has an amazing voice and is a terrific bass man. I love all of their voices, but I think I just really love Scott’s voice the most! His range is crazy and so soulful! You should definitely check out Kevin’s cello and beatboxing videos! He’s so awesome!! He also has a really great singing voice! I enjoyed your reaction! If you love mitches voice so much, you must definetly react to the live performances of aha and telephone live at the star vista! IT IS SO AMAZING! Maybe do them even in one Video, because it is the same concert
Mitch. As another Reactionist dubbed him, Mitch the Pitch because his voice is so.... But you got them all. Of all of them, both Kirstie and Mitch change ALL the time. They NEVER look the same way twice. To hear Kevin sing, I recommend "Mary Did You Know" and "Say Something". Kevin plays Cello AND beatboxes on that one.
Lots more to hear! A few of my PTX favorites are La La Latch, Gold, Shallow Daft Punk and the Evolution of Rihanna and Ariana Grande. Bohemian Rhapsody is another great one as is their original song Love Again. I look forward to seeing your evolution of reacting to PTX!

It’s on its own, outstanding but I think it means even more giving the cause. Also you gotta hear Brian Justin Crumb from his time on AGT. His voice on his live version of Creep sounds like idk what. It’s just amazing. Somebody to Love was his 1st audition on the show & it’s outstanding too. He’s got a single out but I’m still amazed at his voice when he’s belting out songs. He came back for AGT Champions & both performances were powerful. He performed Your Song (Elton John) & never Enough from the Greatest Showman. Not over produced as this show has a tendency to do. & ruin the chances of singers actually winning, though I digress. The only thing to remember with Pentatonix videos, if you see a guy or a girl that you don't recognize, it's ALWAYS Mitch and Kirstie!

Mitch. As another Reactionist dubbed him, Mitch the Pitch because his voice is so.... But you got them all. Of all of them, both Kirstie and Mitch change ALL the time. They NEVER look the same way twice. To hear Kevin sing, I recommend "Mary Did You Know" and "Say Something". Kevin plays Cello AND beatboxes on that one.
Scott and Mitch have their own group called SuperFruit. They with 3 others did a Katy Perry cover of Rise. I think you would love it. I know I do.
When people hear Mitch & are shocked at the angelic voice, it's called being 'Mitch' slapped... & yes the 3 in the middle were in choir together.

Mitch - high voice guy - is indeed the same guy. In older videos he weighed more and he changes his personal style, though generally not more than six or seven times a day. 😁 But you're right about how to be certain that it is him. There is no mistaking that voice.

I'd recommend their take on Bohemian Rhapsody. It's an early video and it's great. Mitch and Kirsten I think they are always in a one up on each other with style changes but I think Mitch wins out.

If you haven't heard Voctive, I would suggest you check out "Mary Did You Know" ft. Mark Lowry. Mark wrote the words for the song. Ooops, just saw you HAVE discovered Voctive. Good for you.

Ok. I’m subscribed but you must do Rise by super fruit, Mary Lambert, Brian Justin Crumb, & Mario Jose. The dit it after the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting. It’s on its own, outstanding but I think it means even more giving the cause. Also you gotta hear Brian Justin Crumb from his time on AGT. His voice on his live version of Creep sounds like idk what. It’s just amazing. Somebody to Love was his 1st audition on the show & it’s outstanding too. He’s got a single out but I’m still amazed at his voice when he’s belting out songs. He came back for AGT Champions & both performances were powerful. He performed Your Song (Elton John) & never Enough from the Greatest Showman. Not over produced as this show has a tendency to do. & ruin the chances of singers actually winning, though I digress. Check him & them out on Rise & then the live version of Creep first & see for yourself
